Understanding Allah

I am a Muslim convert, I have learned quite a bit more that is required of me. I also understand why we follow the prophet Muhammad teachings. It gave me deeper appreciation.

This is the second book of this kind by Abdulla. I also enjoyed and gained much from the first book.

This book contains 148 entries of varying lengths which present a collection of wise sayings, prayers, and parables from a variety of Muslim spiritual leaders, along with quotations and references to the Holy Qu'ran. I have been exploring Islam for over a year and found much to contemplate and cherish in this volume. I read two sections a day as part of a meditation/devotional time.

The book contains a Dedication, a Preface, then the meat of the book divided into 3 Journeys each with their entries (a total of 148). There is no conclusion or last entry bringing things together, nor any index or further reading suggestion list.

There is much of benefit for any who profess any of the Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) -- if you are interested in coming closer to Allah (God). I highly recommend the book and the first volume.

I recommend the book to those interested in spirituality and such contemplation, spirituality of Islam, and expanding one's view of Islam.

The book does bring comfort and hope to the Soul and is well worth subsequent readings.

Beautiful book. A great continuation from the first book. Providing a deeper reflection and explanation of parts of the Quran helping strengthen your relationship with Allah (swt). It also helps provide a level of comfort and was a beautiful read during Ramadan.
