Molly Moon is on a mission – to bring her long-lost twin brother, Micky, home. But before she can rescue him she has to find him, and he could be anywhere! Luckily Molly’s time-travel talents and world-stopping skills help her in her search . . . until a baby-faced villain with a precocious plan to have the world’s biggest brain gets in her way. Can Molly, Petula the dog and their best friend, Rocky, use Molly’s new secret weapon – mind reading – to defeat the brainy babe and her monstrous mind machine?
Okay, I loved all the other books in the Molly Moon series but you have to admit that this is going too far. Another power?? That is like the fourth. It just builds up too much and Molly Moon has all these powers and she hardly ever gets to use them!
It was a well written story though and I liked it. Mind-reading is a cool power to have though I was disappointed that it wasn't clearer! (Like in twilight)
The book dragged on a bit. Okay when she was just a hypnotist I thought 'This is a really good book.' Then she got her time-stopping powers and I thought 'What a great twist.' After she was a time-traveller it was 'Okay, she's going on a bit.' But now she a thirteen year old hypnotist/time-stopper/time-traveller/mind-reader. A bit OTT!

Well, a few years ago I checked out a bunch odf this series from the library/ I accedently read this one, the fourth and last book in the series at the time, because Georgia Byng DOESN'T number her books! It is impossible to tell which is which and that is perhaps my only complaint. I loved the characters and how quick the plot went. I think that this one is actually my favorite Molly Moon book out. I guess it's because, when I read a book I want to be transported to a different place. Of course, I've never been an orphan or felt quite as lonely as Molly, but it still seems similar. And I've never been a movie star, like in the second one, but you hear about them and see them every day online and in magaszines. And , like in the third one, I've never been back in time or in the middle east, but I still have a feel for what it would be like. But the future. Every author has there own take on it and there's no way to prove them wrong, and Georgia Byng's is exspecially entertaining. So far, because I'm hoping for a sixth book, This is my favorite.
When Molly Moon is told about her twin brother by her parents she goes after him! As she goes back to the future she becomes captured and she is forced to get in a mind machine. After she comes out she finds a power she didn't know about! She could read minds! With her new power she makes everything back to normal in the future. Will she make it? Find out!
This time, Molly discovers that she has a twin brother named Micky who was kidnapped and taken far into the future. So Molly travels to the future to get him back, but an evil genius Chinese girl called Princess Fang captures her and puts her in a mind machine which removes all her hypnotic know-how, but the zapping through her brain awakens the power to read minds! Molly now has to save the world from Princess Fang and bring Micky back.
Same old, same old. Great plot, likeable characters, good message. But you should read the previous three books first, and in order, Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism, Molly Moon Stops the World, and Molly Moon's Hypnotic Time Travel Adventure.
I really did not like this book. It is either the fourth or the fifth in a serise that should have been stopped after the first book. The author took advantage of the first stories success and realy stretched the limit of bearable writing. The characters are as shallow as side-walk puddles, the plot is a jumble of half-formed ideas and the end is left gaping, probably an opening for the next repulsive story Ms. Bing is going to churn out.
I thought the book was pretty cool because the main character, Molly, time-traveled to a whole new place and time. She also found her twin brother who was surprisingly very rude to Molly.
Molly Moon, Micky Minus, and the Mind Machine is a wonderful book, and I'm sure that it will keep you up all night long reading! It's about a powerful girl named Molly Moon, who can teleport, time travel, stop time, and even hover in different times without anyone seeing her!
You would think such a girl with a wonderful friend and a cute pug would be happy, but she is not. When she was very young, her twin brother was kidnapped by someone, someone that Molly wants to find. As the book starts, Molly tracks down the mysterious kidnapper. But things aren't that simple... the kidnapper is a time traveler...
I rate this book five stars, because this fantasy book became one of my favorite books! It includes cliff hangers, breath-taking surprises, and amazing discoveries. I certainly recommend reading this book.
Georgia Byng has really lost the plot this time around. Suddenly Molly has a lowkey useless twin and can read minds. Usually she at least has to learn her powers somehow and practice, but this time she just sat in a machine and then immediately got them (which other people have also used the same machine but somehow no one else has ever gotten mind reading powers from that). Also, this book was RIDDLED with plot holes in terms of its timeline (and also just everything generally). Princess Fang has been six years old for years and years but somehow no one but Nurse Meekles had ever realized that, and people just accepted that their queen had been a little elementary schooler forever. I’d also had such high hopes that this could be a brilliant (ish) work of climate fiction tackling wealth inequality and environmental justice, but instead we have bad royal family being replaced by potentially better—but still royal—family. There were still some funny moments and I appreciated that we got some more Petula narration, but this was generally the weakest book in the series.
To me, this book was not great. No matter how much I tried, it was just not captivating and I couldn't get myself to like it. Part of the reason was probably because I didn't have a chance to read all the other books. I was really upset when they didn't have the first book in stores so I decided to just skip to the other. I'll make sure never to do that again because it totally spoiled the book for me. One of the reasons I even wanted to get the book is because I am a total dog fanatic.
I thought I would enjoy a book about dogs because I thought it would be a good experience and also because at the time, (which was about 2 or 3 years ago) I was looking for a good book to read. When I told the people there that I wanted a book about dogs, they automatically recommended the Molly Moon series. Bottom-line, anyone who does not agree with this review, I totally understand. I am sure it would have been a great book if I had just gotten to read the first book.
I'm reading this aloud to my seven and a half year old and six year old, whoa re enjoying it immensely. Unlike Desperau, which was a quick, if boring, read, this is a slower read and yet the time passes more quickly... I find myself stopping reading aloud to them and then sneaking in another chapter before I put the book down myself. The villan is weird enough to be sincerely creepy, but not so scary that my kids can't sleep after I read to them, and the storyline is engaging and creative. The details are good. I think any family with children who like to read aloud would enjoy this juvie fiction/fantasy book. Very creative!
Sinceramente creo que estos libros han ido un poco cuesta abajo a partir del segundo. Este último ha tenido sus momentos interesantes y algún momento entretenido, pero en general me ha parecido bastante aburrido.
Utterly bonkers Imagine my delight when I discovered one of my favourite childhood series had 3 more books I’ve never read. Unfortunately this was a bit disappointing - not sure if it’s just the age thing, because looking at other people’s reviews, the second half of this series seems to be considered a lot worse than the epic first half. It was a bit of an “I have no idea what’s going on, but I’m also not even that intrigued” vibe. Some interesting portrayals of the future in the aftermath of rampant climate change.
Satisfyingly bonkers quotes: “the maniacal Princess Fang”
“Then she noticed an acrid smell. It was the unmistakable whiff of the cat-spider, Taramasalata.”
"Follow,' the hawk-man said, giving a fierce hoot
Nice quotes “Molly hadn't been full of confidence like, for instance, a dog that could fetch the newspaper.”
The baby ahead smelt like a very young version of Molly. It was the fresh heart of the lettuce to Molly's more dark green, outer-leaf smell.
She could hardly tell what the worms were thinking - their thoughts were bendy and mostly pictures of soil.
Micky stirred but slept on, curling back up into a croissant shape.
The room was so quiet you could have heard an ant hiccup.
I think this book was interesting, though it was more difficult to comprehend than some other books, because of all of the almost constant time switching. This book has some violence and disgusting scenery (I show this in my passage later). There is also some cigarette and alcohol shown, but not to great extent. Here is the example of the disgusting imagery "Obediently the man lifted the lid off his box of centipedes and picked one up, pinching it between his finger and thumb so that it didn't wriggle away. Then, without even a murmur of objection, he quickly placed it at the back of his tongue and shut his mouth quickly." as you can see it is disgusting so I rate this book for kids 9 or older.

This might be my favorite Molly Moon book so far, mainly because of all the animals! A lot of people say, "she has another power??? she has too many!!!" but I think that the more things she can do, the more action the book has! I loved everything about it, and you NEED to read this book.
I can’t not rate my favourite childhood book from my favourite childhood series five stars.
I was pretty sure this would hold up upon a reread as an adult and I was right. Obviously it’s written for a much younger audience so some of the language is a bit juvenile but that’s the point. The story still sucked me in just like it was the first time reading it, and I loved every second.
The premise of this book is nuts. Every time I think Molly's adventures can't be wackier, she's meeting hybrid human-animals and learning to read minds (I have an issue with the fact that we never really learned how she developed this skill). There were great characters in this book I didn't want to leave, and I enjoyed the future-world Byng dreamed up.

I like this book because it is interesting and funny at the same time. It is impossible to know what will happen next while you're reading so it makes you want to reads more. Also the descriptions are fantastic and I like the author's style of writing.
