Teaches basic wire-working skills to create jewelry, gifts, and room accessories, using the accompanying paper clips, beads, pliers, and jewelry fittings.
I've attempted some jewelry making in the past, and I've struggled with basic wirework. I picked up a copy of this book because, in my experience, craft books written for children often have simpler and clearer instructions than books written for adults. I especially wanted to take a closer look at the sections on creating wire spirals and on wire wrapping stones. As far as instructional tips went, this book was less helpful to me than I'd hoped it would be. However, it did contain some very creative ideas that gave me a dose of inspiration. Did I like it? Yes. Would I reread it? Possibly. Would I recommend it? Depends on the age of the reader. The target audience is nine year old girls. Adult crafters might still get something out of it. But if you are an adult I'd recommend trying to borrow a copy, or finding a slightly used copy secondhand like I did, rather than paying full retail.
