A step-by-step, full-color VISUAL guide to the art of jewelry making A 2006 study found that beading and jewelry making is the nation’s sixth most popular craft. This guide shows readers how to do everything from basic bead stringing to wire wrapping, all in the series’ easy-to-follow, full-color format. The book includes 20 detailed patterns for making earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and more.
It's a good "overview" look at Jewelry/Beading but it could have been crammed with more information and examples. There are a lot of blank areas on each page and the whole book probably could have been condensed into half the number of pages. The book is geared towards BEGINNERS, people like me that don't even know what plyers to use. But once you understand the basic materials and tools there is not a whole lot of techniques or examples here. This is a real quick read for beginners not a reference book you will return to for ideas as your skills advance.
very cool book.....lots of information on different types of jewelry making, beading macrame, wire...directions are clear and lots of photo's to help see how to do it
I personally really like jewelry and especially to wear it with my casual cloth. The best jewelry pieces are by https://pierrejewellery.nz which is an official store, that is helping to choose a proper jewelry according to your preferences and pocket. I am really addicted to it and was pleased to choose a proper solution right for my every day use. This online shop was a really amazing choice, while they provide a long term warranty and amazing quality.
With a title like this, I really thought there would be more pictures. Some of the projects had photos for each step, others did not. Occasional lack of photos aside, the projects were interesting and I could see myself making a lot of them.
It was informative, but I would have liked more. Also, there wasn't much on fixing mistakes, or when your string becomes tangled and how to prevent it. I'm looking for more information on products that is are available, and more understand on how to use them.
I found this book much more practical and helpful than others on the subject that I have examined or read. In fact, I'd say it is more practical and offers an introduction to a wider variety of techniques than even Jewelry Making and Beading For Dummies does.
I started largely with a curiosity about beads and the ways in which they can be used, and by the time I finished I had an urge to actually try jewelry making from metal wire. I hardly need any more hobby interests but I may well experiment with this anyway.
Clear photos and descriptions make the processes easy to understand. Detailed information about tools and materials are also very clear.
Recommended for both the curious and those who actually engage or intend to engage in jewelry making of all sorts, from stringing simple beads to creating complex items from precious metals. You might even learn something new about a method you already use.
I love this book! Many beading and jewelry books I've looked through promise clear step-by-step pictures. Sadly that's rarely the case. (Sorry instruction-manual-writers I can't see through your friggin fingers.) There are a lot of clever ideas, and clearly expressed suggestions which make this my favorite go to book I'm making jewelry.
Very helpful to have pitures to walk me through some of the steps I was unfamiliar with. Highly useful and detailed information. Not a book to own, but one to borrow from the library.
Never finished reading a book like this. I find Visually guides very easy to understand. I like it among many other beading books and jewelry resources.
Great for beginners like me. Detailed easy to read and really Great projects and designs. I am looking for a book on learning about bead, wire, string and string sizes and his to determine how to adjust patterns!!!
