He is best known for his eight-year run as writer of the DC Comics' title The Flash, as well as his scripting of the limited series Kingdom Come and Superman: Birthright, and his work on Marvel Comics' Captain America.

Luego de un incidente contras las armas antiterroristas de Metrópolis, Superman descubre que aquel acontecimiento es por culpa de Lex Luthor. Por tal razón, vuela directo a donde se encuentra el calvo para confrontarlo, acusándolo de que, aunque puede engañar al resto de la ciudad con la careta de empresario filántropo, a él jamás podrá ocultarle su verdadero rostro.

En esta historia, se nota cómo Lex muestra ante los medios de comunicación una versión diferente de las cosas que en realidad suceden en torno a él. Incluso, se hizo llamar "amigo" de Superman solo para quedar bien.
