One of the worst value books I've ever bought. Incredibly repetitive and shallow. There are a few helpful tips in here that I took out, but they are few and far between. The rest is practically an advertisement.
One of the most annoying parts is the gigantic graphics. Entire pages are taken up for an arrow and several words. Sometimes they just repeat a sentence said on a previous page. If you take out all the filler and weird formatting, this book would be under 100 pages. I finished it in a morning before work and felt like I got nothing out of it.

Just, WOW! The Best Guide to Learning Music, Whether Beginner or Advanced
I think probably most of us, at some point in our lives, have wanted to play an instrument or sing or have actually done so. Similarly, I imagine most of us have what the author might call our musical dream goal, whether playing children's songs for your grandkids or headlining arenas. Goals are so personal and rightly so, as each of our lives is different, and even each season of our lives may call us to a different dream or goal. This is a fantastic book that will help you learn music, whatever your level, whether you choose to teach yourself or seek guidance at some point from an outside teacher. It's hard to believe that one book could be that to everyone interested in learning music, but this musician-author has crafted a book that will help take you from wherever you are in your music journey to where you want to be. He not only has the unshakable laws mentioned in the book’s title, but he breaks everything down into simple, straightforward steps; the book is even divided into small, bite-sized chunks, perfect for when you’ve only got a spare minute here or there. I love the encouraging, come-along-with-me spirit that pervades the book.
I dabbled with music and singing off and on for 50 years. As I like to say, I learned how to read music before I learned how to read English. We had a piano in our household, and since it took up so much space in our small home, our parents assured that each of us five daughters started piano instruction as early as a teacher would accept us! I'll admit I wasn't wild about the practicing I had to do as a child, so when I had the choice, I broke off the lessons while continuing to play my favorite songs just for myself and my family. I would drive my younger sister crazy by starting to practice Christmas carols in August! At various points in my adult life, I have taken piano classes in college and through online teachers. Two years ago, music was my lifeline when I temporarily lost my sight while awaiting cataract surgery. I couldn’t pour myself a glass of water without having a finger in the glass, but I could sit down and play favorites and practice rhythm patterns and accompaniment drills when all I could see was light and dark.
I still call myself a dabbler, though over the decades I have read and used so many music instruction books. That's how I know this book is a standout! I've never read anything quite like it … and I’ve read a LOT of music and piano instruction books over the years. This book is getting me enthused to pursue my musical goals yet again. The book has given me the confidence to just be okay with where I'm at right now and become more trained in a musically personal, meaningful way, and he's given me a road map to get there. If you are interested in a starting to play an instrument or to sing or feel like you've hit a wall in your current musical skills that is keeping you from reaching your musical goals, grab this book! Let this cheerleading author encourage and guide you to attain your musical dreams. Consider buying this book your first step on that road to getting there.
I received a free digital copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Quite an honest statement made by author. It actually looks like the book was written in the spirit of its own content. A practical and compelling plan is laid out in a style that can just be described as a practical and compelling one. Don’t know if it’s of any true importance to musical education -being nor an expert in music or the pedagogical aspects of it that couldn’t have been the point of this review. Rather, these lines deliver an answer to the request posited by the author, hoping it helps his ideas -to which I feel most positively inclined- reach farther than if there weren’t a response from the readers.
Having finished the book I’m left wondering, it’s very likely that on the next hours I might be tempted to try playing some songs and pieces on the guitar while trying to figure out how to apply what the book is about. Hope that somehow takes me to answer the question why.
I ‘ve been playing music for 45 years and I learned so much from this book. Take the time to read it and go practice because you are either trained or you are not!
