Spicy, absolutely, plot driven, not overly.
This is a quick and spicy read. Tristian, that mouth, damn. Overall it felt like we got no insight into Layla, the main sticking point before she met Tristian seemed to be about how many people she’d slept with, and then Tristian came along and it went from 0 to 100 in no time at all. The chemistry felt lacklustre and I had a hard time focusing on the story (or lack of as it seemed to be 90% smut and 10% plot)

All the steamy teasers that Author JL Quick has been dropping are on point with what to expect in “Owned.” JL hits readers immediately—I can’t tell you how much I love that in a story.
While Layla and her hilarious friend, Jorge, are “swiping right,” she meets Tristan. Tristan owns a specific type of place and practices a particular lifestyle. They hit it off, and she wants to be trained as his perfect sub. The scenes are very steamy.
But there’s more to Tristan than just his hotness. There’s a whole Irish Mafia piece and his brothers—I need more of his brothers!
”Owned” was a fast-paced, short read jam-packed with memorable steamy scenes and characters that made me laugh and fawn over—it was a great read!

The Queen of Peen is back and I’m here for it! These characters are perfection! I love the comedic relief from Jorge! I swear JL couldn’t top her previous books then BAM a month later we get gold! These men are built in some very special ways. Can I buy one of them on Amazon. 🤔

Wow, what can I say about this book! The characters, the storyline, the spice—it was all so perfectly written that I couldn’t put it down.
The story follows Layla and Tristan. Layla, along with her best friend Jorge, finds herself in a bar where they’re ‘swiping right.’ It’s here that she meets Tristan. Not only does Tristan own the bar where Layla finds herself, but he also owns the adjacent club under construction. Tristan lives a very particular lifestyle, one that Layla becomes increasingly drawn to.
In addition to managing multiple bars with his brothers, Tristan is a part of the Irish mafia. The dynamic between the brothers is elite, showcasing their willingness to defend and seek revenge, which adds a thrilling layer to the story.

This book had me in a chokehold and I loved it! I always love a good mafia book, especially with a sexy MMC - Tristan could definitely slide into my life and teach me some things 😉. I love the relationships between the brothers and just how fierce they are in fighting for their family. Read this all in one sitting because I couldn't get enough of Tristan, Layla, and the chemistry between them!

This book was a wildly fun and smutty ride.
The focus was entirely on the relationship between Tristan and Layla and their bedroom sports, because those went beyond regular activity level. 😉😂
The story builds up some suspense around Tristan’s family and the criminal nature of their business. There was a distinct Four Brothers vibe except they were five blood related irish men that run an internationally successful 🐝DSM club. I’m interested to see what the author does for the rest of the series, because this one was just plain fun.

This book has all my favorite things. There's an age gap, strangers to lovers, sex club, dom/sub dynamic, sexy Irish Mob boss, and so delicious spice. I loved the underlying Irish mafia vs Bratva plot. Can't wait to read more from this series.

You know, for a book that’s basically p***, I actually liked it 🤪hahahahah! The added danger/ suspense kept the story going bc you were always on edge w/ what might happen to Layla or even Tristan.
The spice?! Wowwwzzerrs. Clutching my pearls when Conor was added! Goodness gracious! But my oh my 🥵. Well, now I’m off to read what Declan has in store for us

As with all of J.L. Quick books, I quickly fell for our MMC and his ways, nearly as fast as our FMC does in the book. Insta-lust is always a fun trope and this one is FAST, but in the best way.
I am absolutely so excited for this new series and can't wait to read every brother's (hopefully) story to find love. Y'all know I love a billionaire/mafia family romance series!

As I said this book is fast paced so their affair blossomed really quick and it was steamy. Tristan was obsessive and possessive from the start but I loved it. But their story has its own ups and downs but that way they rose up from everything was amazing.
Tristan is a determined MMC 😏😏

I devoured this book. I literally could not put it down.
I picked it up as I was starting a bubble bath hoping to get out of a deeeep post election reading slump and then I stayed up until 3am to finish it. I’m not even surprised. I have yet to read a book by JL Quick that wasn’t top tier! 🤌🏾🤌🏾
This is book 1 in the Men of Triskelion series with 6 book total in the series. It’s an Irish mafia romance.
I loved Tristan & Layla’s story. I liked the way their romance started and how unique it was. They both fell hard and fast. I loved when he finally had to tell her he was the head of a mafia family and how she was just so accepting and like of course I love you no matter what. This book had it all - suspense and violence, had me kicking my feet and giggling, and had me enjoying spicy things I’ve never read or enjoyed before.
He calls her Mo cuishle there’s nothing I love more than a nickname in his native tongue 😌 I also really liked the glossary at the beginning so we understood the Irish words and phrases being used. Those little touches matter to this reader.
The spice is 4🌶️. This book is sooo spicy. Definitely a one handed read. 😏 I personally felt that there was a decent plot to carry the spice and it didn’t feel overly spicy. Instead it felt like Tristan was so obsessed with her that he just could not wait to get inside of her every chance he got. 🥵🥵 Not complaining at all. All the spicy scenes were well written and not repetitive and I liked the way she was introduced to the submissive lifestyle slowly and not just forced into it. And when he shares her 😏 whew go read this book you can thank me later.

Owned, is the first book in the Men of Club Triskelion series and my first book of J.L.Quick's and it was deliciously delightful. Left me wishing I could order an Evans brother from spamazon. If you are looking for your next spicy mafia romance, Owned is the one to read. Tristan's Irish accent and dirty mouth will leave you with a misty screen and your panties melting. Not only is the story spicy, but it has a coherent cohesive storyline, that will keep you returning for more.
Layla and Tristan first meet when she and her friend Jorge go to Deartháir and he accidentally bumps into her causing whiskey to spill all over her dress, ruining it. Jorge and Layla's whiskey induced fun has her swipping right, just so she can tell Tristan what an alphahole he is, however nothing ever goes according to plan, and she gets thrown into his dangerous and dark life.
Tristan, being the balor of the Irish mafia and one of five Evans brothers, now has his eyes set on Layla, wanting to make her his perfect submissive to his dominant, and he always gets what he wants. The character dynamics between Tristan and his brothers, was PERFECTION. I completely adored their relationship with one another, and how they stood up for one another, whether they believed they were in they wrong or not. "You f**k with one Evans; you f**k with us all." Tristan's endearment for Layla, was swoon worthy. I would not mind being someones Mo Cuishle.
I highly recommend this lusciously taboo mafia romance, it might even give you a sudden craving for pringles. ;) This book gave me all the feels, the humor within the pages of this book had me giggling out loud, to the point my coworkers were giving me questioning eyes. I really wanted to love this book, it all looked so promising.
The dedication was hot. The book started okay. The blurb had me interested. Even checked out the other books blurbs so I'd be really interested in this series...
But no. This book drastically got worse. I'm not a hater but I DNFd with only a few chapters to spare so I'm calling it a "read" either way.
Chapter 6 - The MMC breaks the door down of a random house and makes the woman inside take her dress off leaving her in her lingerie before facetiming her husband and demanding he send paperwork for the club or they'll come back (aka r* her) 🤮. He literally grinds himself against her ass.
Later on in the book, the FMC has been with him for a week and she doesn't question a single thing when he tells her that she's moving in with him first thing in the morning as he just says "I know what's best for you"?? 🚩
Every time she says or does anything he's like "did you ask for permission?" And then just tells her that she needs correcting as he refuses to use the term punishing?? << That's not possessive that's controlling.
Also how on earth does the FMC fall asleep in the middle of talking? She's not even finishing her words or sentences and she's just out like a light? No one falls asleep that easily unless they're on drugs or something?
He pins her against the wall and refuses to tell her that he's in the mafia and she's angry. BUT it's okay because he said I don't love you, my heart is with you and they fuck once again?
For a man so "possessive" over her, he shares her with one of his brothers? He also spanks her in front of all of his brothers?

Layla is a free spirited woman who enjoys men. She likes to go out and have a good time. While at this bar with her friend who was trying to find out information on the sex club being built next door a man spills a drink all over her. While swiping on a dating app she sees the man and decides to try to meet up with him so that she can berate him for what he did to her. Well, Tristan is intrigued he doesn’t date much because he is very particular with what he likes. He likes to have full control and prefer his partner to be submissive. Now Layla is not really sure that she would like to be involved in that sort of dynamic. However, once she gets a taste and she reads the books Tristan gives her she’s starting to think it won’t be that bad. But, Tristan is also the head of the Irish mafia group and he is battling two different groups. So he not only needs to watch and protect his brothers but Layla as well. One group is fighting with him because of something his younger brother did. I loved the family aspect of this book. These brothers are supportive, love one another and always there to lend a hand, fight a foe or whatever is needed. Great story. It’s very spicy and has some dark moments. I enjoyed the usual mafia aspects of violence on the page and a mystery. I cannot wait to read the book about the remaining brothers in this series.

Owned by @jlquickwrites came out of nowhere and I need to know why the Men of Club Triskelion series is not being talked about more. This series is about the Evans brothers and their dealings with the Irish Mafia and the various BDSM clubs they own and each brother's own preference. Owned is about Tristian and being a Dom who owns his Sub. Tristian has taken the lead of his family after his brother's wife passes away. He is under a lot of stress, because they are opening a club and running the family. He goes to a lot of questionable lengths to ensure they are successful. Then Layla enters his life by mere happenstance, a spilled drink, and a dating app. Tristian and Layla immediately hit it off and Tristian decides that she will make his perfect Sub. Layla thrives at being defiant and Tristian thrives at breaking her in. They work well together, they communicate their ever-changing wants and needs (including sharing her with his brother😏), and Tristian will do whatever he can to protect Layla at all costs. I am obsessed with the Evans brothers and everyone needs to start reading this series and about the brothers' antics! I love Tristian and Layla's relationship development, the family dynamics, and Layla's friendship with Jorge. This book is phenomenal all around and I cannot wait to see where the series goes!

This is book 1 in the Men of Club Triskelion. Each story is an interconnected standalone that can be read in any order. I do recommend starting from the beginning as you will get some background that will enhance your reading experience.

Tristan and Layla meet by happenstance and their relationship quickly blossoms into a very steamy affair. There were some ups and downs to their relationship but they quickly learned that they were meant for each other. I love the protective nature of Tristan. The bond between the brothers was another element that I didn't expect but truly loved. The ongoing threat to the Evens brothers quickly escalates and gives this story a bit of suspense. This story is very Smexy and will give you all the feels. Jorge gave me all the comedic relief with his hilarious dialog. That bit of levity in the story gave you a break from the intensity. I am excited to see where the author takes us with the rest of the family and their love intrests
