A happily ever after

The book is a 'clean and sweet' romance story. Everyone is polite. The bad guys do horrible acts but the author doesn't dwell on it. Just grabbing and selling girls. I like books like this because they are always drama free.
BUT.......
Throughout the book the author has taken great pains to be so politically correct that even a compliment has to be backed up with an apology.
You look great.” Smell great. Kiss great. His list of greats was getting longer by the second. Whatever boxes she needed checked, he was doing it. "And I'm just wearing a cotton undress." “Never thought I’d be jealous of cotton.” Squeezing his eyes shut, he said, “I said that out loud.” She giggled. “Yeah, you did, but I ran into a door yesterday, so I’ll say we’re even.” He opened his eyes and sighed. “No, Mia. What I said was disrespectful. I shouldn’t even have thought it. You aren’t an object.”
Hear that tapping? That is me hitting my kindle on my forehead.

I read the ARC for this book and it was just incredible, amazing and etc... This book in my opinion was what I call a "page turner". It was easy to read to. I can't wait to read the ARC for another one of Bree Livingston's books called The Ranger's Peace. I hope I get these books in paperback. She is a very good author. I encourage her to keep writing. I recommend her books. Please read them.

MY TAKE
I really enjoyed this story, and I'm already attached to all the guys on the team. Mia was a delight, and I loved how she got under Noah's skin without meaning to. They were so good together. There's swoonworthy, clean romance and plenty of action. 4 1/2 stars.

I'm looking forward to listening to the books on YouTube. They're professionally narrated--and free! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsrc...

I borrowed The Ranger's Chance: A Clean Army Ranger Romance from the Kindle Unlimited program.

Noah Wolf is undercover for the Guardian Group working to find a way to stop human trafficer, Harrison and his new computer expert Mia Milan is his assignment. After meeting Mia, Noah is positive she is unaware of the nature of Harrison's human transporting business but the chatter the groups computer expert is hearing says otherwise.

The romance is sweet, full of funny and humorous situations although Noah knows he is attracted to Mia and with the operation, lies it has no future. Harrison is full of surprises, the action heats up and The Ranger's Chance has a great ending. I loved a hero story that was not full of sex just excitement and sweet romance.

Not what I thought it was going to be. At this point I can't see reading anymore books by this author if they are wrote like this. There was some skimming done and a few eye rolls. I loved the fact that it was a clean read with no profanity, use of deity or sexual content.

Rating: PG (some violence, trafficking)
Language: a very clean profanity free book
Recommend: Maybe

The Ranger’s Chance: A Clean Army Ranger Romance: Book 1 is by Bree Livingston. This first book in the series is great and it bodes well for a new series. It combines romance and action with the Army Ranger honor. It is short enough to read quickly and long enough to be interesting. The characters are well-developed and are very realistic.
Noah Wolf was on a mission in Miami, Florida. It wasn’t a mission he was looking forward to and wouldn’t have taken it if he has a choice. He didn’t like missions in which he had to lie to the person he was protecting. It went against his beliefs. However, he was the only one available and Guardian Group depended on him. The saving grace of it was he was looking for someone to testify against Tom Harrison, a dealer in human trafficking. Noah wanted to nail him. Now he was to find out what Mia Milan knew and get her laptop so Ryder could get in and see what was going on. Thus, he found himself in Miami on s prink Break in a club with LOUD music looking for Mia Milan. Would he find her?
Mia Milan was a computer specialist who worked on people’s computers setting up security. She worked alone and did her job well. She had taken Harrison’s job through his assistant. Had she met Harrison before signing the contract, she would have thought twice about it as she found him “slimy”. She had set up the security system and it worked. She stayed in the area for a few days to make sure the glitches were out. She had stolen a file from him. It was suspicious as it was encrypted well. Once it was unencrypted and if it proved intimidating, she would send it to the FBI. Meanwhile, she would enjoy Miami. She would start with the handsome gentleman she met at the swimsuit contest- Noah Wolandry.
Would they get together and together stop Harrison? Or would Harrison find them and stop them.

This was a really cute story, Mia was quirky and funny and I was embarrassed for her so many times as she navigates the attention of Noah. Noah was also cringe worthy at times and together they made the perfect couple. I loved the style of writing by this author and loves the flow of the book. Good quick fun read.

Mia jumps at the chance to work in Miami, vacation and do a little work on the side installing software for a shipping company. For her it sounds like a paid vacation, what she doesn’t know is that her new boss is no who he appears to be. Her boss Harrison is a known transporter of human traffickers. Noah Wolf is an Ex-Army Ranger, he wants to get to Harrison and shut him down. His team come up with a plan for him to make friends with Mia and find out if she knows who she is working for and help his team get into her computer. What Noah didn’t plan on was falling for her, it could put both of them in danger.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THRILLER

Two strong and amazing characters are introduced from the onset; each with a mysterious and surprising agenda. Author created not only fantastic characters but the storyline contained all the necessary action, intrigue and suspenseful thrills to grab a reader's attention to make this first book a worth while read building to a great thrilling ending. Amazing beginning to a new series.

The Ranger's Chance is a sweet romance story mixed with action and a bit of suspense. Noah is on assignment and has to use an alias, while Mia is not only his assignment but has also faced trust issues with a previous relationship, so the reader can know where this is headed. I felt that the first half of the book was really focused on the physical, and even though their relationship is supposed to be based on all these things they like and get to know about the other, attraction is definitely a huge factor. The second half is more focused on the action, and I actually enjoyed it a bit more, though I always felt like I was dropped in the middle of the story, so I don't know if perhaps I missed the prequel somewhere. Still, I managed to enjoy most of the story and got the hang of most of the names in Noah's team (his siblings at the end, not so much). While the last action scene felt a bit cliche, I definitely felt for Noah's past, and I found Mia's work interesting.

I remembered Liz Krane as a narrator from a previous series by another author that I had enjoyed and thus knew the narration would be good. Now, while she pulled off most of the characters, I had an issue with Ryder's voice, since to me, he sounded like a female most of the time. Still, her performance of the rest of the cast, as well as their emotions, was spot on, and the reader definitely experiences them all (hurt, anger, fear, excitement, and everything in between).

Overall, a sweet romance (passionate kisses) that's recommended for fans of the author, the fake identity trope, or readers who are looking for some action and suspense to be thrown in the mix as well. ~ 4 stars

I tried, I really really did. I tried it twice. The first time i could only read a couple chapters and I went into another book. What bothered me at the very beginning is his whole protector role. I mean jeez I get that personal protection is important but when your mark asks you to go for a walk don’t tell her she should have made on her just in case your a creep. What? Just....what! I mean your supposed to be getting to this girls laptop not teacher her to be MORE cautious.
The big reason I just couldn’t finish this is the book didn’t make any sense to me. There were too many holes in the story. He’s supposed to gain access to her laptop but he’s hanging out with her while she’s in a swimsuit. I don’t think the laptop is down there so why hang out with her when he should be breaking into her hotel room. So what does he do? Why invited her to go jet skying with him in which he rents a whole beach just for them so she’d be more comfortable. Holes, lots of holes. At one point he hopes she’ll let her walk her to her hotel room so he can figure out what room she’s in. This is supposed to be an ELITE group that is tracking a human trafficking group. They have access to personal info from this group and correspondence yet they can’t find out what room in a hotel room.
It was too much for me.

It was okay. Considering there are pages of them both thinking, we don’t get their feelings!

Noah works for Guardian and is trying to bring down a human trafficker. Mia is a computer expert that they suspect is helping him. So Noah is sent to get close to Mia and get her laptop or access to it. As soon as he’s spoken to Mia he realises quickly that she’s not guilty of anything, but needs to prove it.

As they start to fall for each other, Noah realises that he’s going to hurt her, as she will feel betrayed.

I did enjoy it, but there are pages of his feelings and hers. But when the truth comes out about him, I didn’t feel her pain, her hurt. I just didn’t feel a connection with either of them. They both felt one dimensional and quite honestly I don’t know why! It’s sad really as I was looking forward to reading it.

When the danger happens I didn’t feel any tension. At all! Because of the lack of connection to them both, I didn’t know what either of them were thinking. It must have been terrifying for Mia but there’s nothing written about it, why? Noah is madly in love with Mia, is he terrified about her safety, worried about her?

Just one final point. I’m not a child and two consenting adults who are interested in each other and there’s NO SEXUAL CHEMISTRY AT ALL!! No heavy kissing, nothing! I felt cheated! It’s boring!

Noah Wolf is a former Army Ranger who now works for the Guardian Group. His team is trying to put Harrison behind bars for human trafficking. Mia Milan is a computer security specialist who has been hired by Harrison to secure his computer network. Noah's team is convinced that Mia is aware of Harrison's illegal activities but Noah isn't so sure. His job is to get close to Mia to find out what she knows. The more time he spends with Mia, the more he is certain that she is innocent and the more time he wants to spend with her and get to know her better.

When his feelings threaten their mission and Mia's life, something has to give. Will Mia forgive him for betraying her trust? Will they get the info they need to put Harrison away for a long time?

This was a book that I checked out from the Kindle Lenders Library and enjoyed the feel good romance and story. Noah is the perfect romantic story boyfriend. Kind, gentle, protective and very handsome. I loved that the book is clean with no language or sex. This is definitely an author I would like to read more from.

Noah

I enjoyed this book about a group of men who were previous Army Rangers and were now part of a Security group hired to.protect the innocent from evil people. Noah is assigned to Mia, a computer security expert who was hired by Mr. Harrison to upgrade the security on his warehouses. Unknown to Mia, he is the head of an organization involved in human trafficking. Noah and his group have been trying over a year to get Mr. Harrison arrested with enough evidence to keep him in jail. When Mia doesn't trust Mr. Harrison after her first meeting with him, she loads his computer hard drive to her laptop to confirm what she suspects before going to the police. When she meets Noah and they fall for each other, the action gets intense and I had trouble putting the book down. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy a clean romantic suspense. It was a joy to read a bodyguard romance for once that was clean of sex descriptions. I plan on reading more of this series about each of the bodyguards. The characters are likeable. This is my voluntary and honest review.

Great story with plenty of flirting, intrigue and suspense. I really liked Mia's spunk. When I first read she was a computer geek I expected someone shy, maybe a little awkward, but was pleasantly surprised by this strong woman. Noah was also great and I loved the connection between them. Yes, they were attracted to each other, but it went a lot deeper than that. Even though this is the first book in this series, the author has interwoven characters from her other series. You don't need to read the other books to enjoy this book, but it was fun having cameos from characters I've enjoyed in other books. I'm really looking forward to this series. Noah's Ranger friends are great and I can't wait to get to know them better.

A slow burn

I would describe this book as a slow burn that explodes about half way in. I liked the focus on the characters and the development of their personalities. The inclusion of secondary characters that will probably become major ones in future stories was a nice touch. The story was told from Noah and Mia’s perspective and I didn’t get a full sense of the evil of enemy from the descriptions of him and what he did. He was an evil man and maybe that could have been emphasised a little stronger.
This was a random pick from me, but it is not going to be the last one from this author. I enjoyed reading it.

A great story

A well-written romance with action and a little suspense thrown in. The characters had amazing chemistry from the beginning.

Noah entered the dance club in hopes that the woman he was tracking would show up. What is she doing up on stage? He needed to get her out of here. He needed her help, to get to the man that was running a human trafficking ring.

Mia entered a bikini contest on a dare. Now someone has grabbed her and taken her outside. Mia was frightened, she didn't know who had grabbed her. But when she looked up, she saw that her assailant was gorgeous. Mia has just started a new job and doesn't have time for distractions.

The head of Guardian group finds the love of his life.

Enjoyed finally getting to read Noah story. I've been waiting awhile to get it. Noah and Mia story was exciting from the start. Mia and Noah fit well together. Felt sorry for Noah that he had to keep stuff from her at the start. But that all was taken care of later. The guy that had hired her was a real jerk and bad man. So glad that Noah and his crew caught the guy. Noah was real hero he put his life on the line for Mia. So happy his family loved her too. Looking forward to Gunner when it goes on sale or is free. Glad that Noah and Mia are having a baby too.

I have a several books by this author but this is the first one that I have “read”. I enjoyed this book. It is a contemporary whirlwind romance with a bit of danger. Mia is a computer “nerd” that has a business protecting computers. Noah is an ex-army ranger. He is assigned to follow her to get information on a sex trafficker they are trying to bring down. Mia is the one hired to protect the computer programs for the man they are after. Noah and Mia weren’t expecting to find love. And Noah has too many secrets he has to his from Mia. It is a sweet clean read.

Mia and Noah's story is filled with romance and suspense! Mia is a computer security specialist. When she travels to Miami to work with a new client, she gets a terrible feeling about the new client and sees things at the warehouse workplace that make her suspect something illegal might be going on. Noah Wolf is an ex-Army Ranger working at as bodyguard/protection specialist. When he is tasked with finding out if Mia is part of the Harrison human trafficking ring, he is confused by the wholesome feeling he gets as he tries to get closer to Mia.

Noah Wolf wasn’t pleased to be in Miami during spring break but that’s where his assignment of getting close to independent IT Security contractor Mia Milan and see if he could interest her in ratting out her boss takes him. After a fun meet, something about a contest, the pair are ready to fall in love. He’s sure she’s innocent though his team does not. Mia thinks her client is a trafficker but has no evidence, yet! And she’s uncertain who to report him to when she can prove it. As things blow up in all their faces, the team looks closer to see what they missed.

Loved this book. Noah, an ex-Army Ranger is working undercover to take down Harrison a known human trafficker. Mia is a computer security geek hired by Harrison to update his computer systems. But Harrison hired Mia only to trap and destroy Noah And his team. It's action-packed with a lot of twists and turns throughout this book, and I couldn't put it down. This book has been one of my favorite by Bree Livingston and doesn't disappoint. I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.

Good story with great characters

The h in this story, Mia is strong, intelligent, kind, witty, and beautiful. The H, Noah, is strong, ethical, caring, and of course handsome. These two characters were very likeable and I felt the author was able to build a really good story by just staying true to the characteristics of Mia and Noah.

I really enjoyed reading this book and will check into other books by this author.
