I was disappointed in the storyline. It was just so so. People were being hunted and killed. And them there is an accident with Skylars son and she has to leave. Darcy joins forces with brooks in trying to find whoever is hunting. The whole book was just so so and kind of boring. I didn't like the resolution and it happened so abruptly and it was just like what happened. I may just be tired but it just didn't click with me. And then at the end she gets a revelation about her Father and it just leaves it up in the air. Her sister is still in a coma too and Todd Parsons is still out there. Just didn't enjoy this one as much. I will keep reading.
The House Down the Lane is the sixth book in the Darcy Hunt FBI Mystery Series by Eva Sparks - I binged the entire collection which proved to be quite gripping reading. FBI Agent Darcy Hunt is not your typical crime-fiction lead ... she’s layered, haunted by past traumas, and yet still fiercely determined to seek justice. Each book plunges readers into intricate cases involving missing persons, political intrigue, and chilling criminal minds - all while weaving in Darcy’s personal struggles and evolving relationships. Ms. Sparks’ writing shines with taut and dynamic storytelling that kept me turning pages late into the night, and yet still rich enough with emotion that made me care about the people behind the crimes. The investigative details felt authentic without bogging down the storyline/s, and the twists are clever enough to have kept me guessing. A binge-worthy FBI thriller series that delivers both heart-pounding suspense and a heroine you’ll want to root for from book one to the latest release. Happy Reading…
There isn't much to the investigation I'm this book. Darcy doesn't learn much on her own. She pretty much gets everything from her friend that owns the club. Even after that, we don't get the full story until the last chapter. And them the epilogue drops a new load of info that is kind of related but also leaves it open.
The blurb states she works this one with Brooks, but he is only there for the middle of the investigation. I think we only see them together for a day.
Quite honestly, you could learn everything you need for the next book from just the last chapter and the epilogue. I'm sure she'll spend too much of the next book telling us what happened in this one. If I were purchasing the books, I would skip this book and try the next one.
Darcy was pulled off a case because she was too close to finding the truth about Why there was murders. Turns out in the process she still tried to look into the case. Went undercover had a friend looking into it. But someone called to give her a clue and she found the person who was about to get killed. Did she get in trouble no but the CIA was involved in all of it. But the way it ended was jaw dropping. All of the series is 5 ⭐️. Now to start the next one in the series.
The House Down the Lane(Darcy Hunt FBI Mystery Suspense Thriller Book 6)
OMG!!!!!!!! I can't get enough of these books. This one has Darcy searching for someone who is snatching certain people up and sending video to a loved one of these people running for their lives and then killing them, but not actually letting them see the death. It turns into a long and drawn out investigation, but in the end Darcy always catches her killer.
I'm just so shocked how Eva Sparks can write such a long series and still keep the surprises and story lines fresh and suspenseful! I was worried after the last book that this would feel drawn out or an unnecessary continuation but let me tell you - its not even close. The story continues to unfold and the mystery keeps building. Theres so much to learn about Darcy and I'm dying to dig into book 7!
Skylar is called away for a family emergency. While Darcy is working on a case.
Darcy ends up working with Brooks on finding out why all these girls are going missing. Meanwhile when they were working on it. They get it taken away from the CIA. But they secretly work on the case and find out that the CIA is involved.
Little does she know that her father was working for them as well as killed by one. Her and her family always thought that the dad died by suicide
Another great mystery. Well Darcy gets to work with another agent and gives Skylab a break as she unravels another great ruse. Following this story, I believe, puts you right into the game. Eva Sparks has me hooked. I hope there are more for me on Kindle. You will enjoy this book.
I liked the idea of this story, I found it interesting. In my opinion Darcy doesn't do much in this book. In my opinion Eva Sparks does too much recapping. I find myself skipping a lot of it. The epilogue confirmed one thing I had figured out but did create more questions. I read on Kindle Unlimited.
Crazy premise with what happens to the victims but I felt that the whole climax of discovering who the killer is wasn’t as satisfying as the previous books. It was too fast and fortuitous. The cliff hanger at the end helped a bit though. I want to know more about the mystery that is Darcy’s family. Still enjoyed the book despite the lack luster ending.
My least favorite of the series. One thing that drives me crazy is how much this author feels the need to recap characters or events. I find myself skipping over a good amount of pages because it feels like it’s just filler. Didn’t love it but will still read the next one.
I have really enjoyed reading Eva Sparks and she improves a little bit with each book. This is the first book post Marvin Hess and I enjoyed the weaving in of some new "main" characters. All in all a quick enjoyable read.
This series just took a very sharp left turn. Here I am thinking that revenge of the guilty was all there was to this but now we move into a whole different dimension. My mind has just been blown.
Another exciting Darcy Hunt story. There are many rabbit holes but enough intrigue to keep the pages turning. Pay close attention to everything in this one!
This one was not as good as the last 5 in the series. Maybe there was too much time between the 4th book and the 5th book. I do like this author though.
Another awesome adventure with Darcy Hunt and Skylar. Plenty of drama and mystery, and lots of what is going on questions. More on the way with the next book!
I wasn't going to read another one but low and behold, I did. I get frustrated with this character as she inevitably puts herself and possibly others in danger. Done....
