The Remington Royals #2

Playing Pretend with the Prince

Rate this book
I’m not like most women. I don’t have fantasies of finding the perfect man and settling down to have two point five children.

My job is my baby.

My dream position is so close I can taste it, but the rug is pulled out from beneath me when I find out there’s a they want the role filled by someone who is married.

Liam Remington is my best friend, Natalie’s, brother-in-law with a hero complex. We’ve both been living with her for the past three years, helping to raise her four small children after she fled an abusive marriage.

When Liam finds out about the conditions of my promotion, he comes to me with a we get married on paper. I get a fair shot at my dream job, and he gets his family off his back about finding a wife.

Oh, and did I mention he’s a prince? A second son, but still.

I agree; only because we’ve been roommates for so long, I know we can handle it long-term.

What I wasn’t counting on was the intimate touches, heated glances, and Liam’s over-the-top protectiveness of me as we put on a show as man and wife for both my superiors and his family.

I keep trying to convince myself that I’m just playing pretend with the prince.

Why is it that playing pretend has never felt so real?

Siena is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where a love of sports is bred into a girl's DNA. Her love of romance novels came early as well. She would often accompany her romance reviewer mom to book lovers' and romance writers' conventions, where she sat in on workshops and met numerous best-selling authors. It wasn't long before she was filling notebooks with her own stories, which often starred herself and a certain real-life prince.

As luck would have it, she met and married a handsome athlete instead. After several temporary residencies in multiple states and Germany, they finally settled in Michigan, the land where youth hockey reigns supreme.

Her stories no longer feature herself but draw from her past experiences as an educator, businesswoman, fashion consultant, and world traveler when creating her strong heroines. “Oh yes,” she says with a wink and a smile, “There are bits of me in all of them.” Now, she spends her days writing happily ever afters for fictional characters and her evenings at the local hockey arenas cheering for her three children.

“Even if it took the rest of my life, I would make sure she knew she was worth everything to me—no one else mattered.”

✨Marriage of Convenience
✨Royalty Romance
✨Grumpy/Sunshine
✨Forced Proximity
✨Best Friend’s Brother (in-law)

Liam and Amy find themselves in situations that require them to be married—it would help Amy’s image for the promotion she’s working towards, and it would get Liam’s family off his back. Both don’t believe in marriage and/or love, so Liam came up with a proposal that would benefit both of them. Liam and Amy attend events together and put on a great show for the world to see. But playing pretend with a Prince starts feeling more and more real as time goes on.

To me, there’s nothing better than a big, broody, over-protective man married to a “badass boss bitch” woman who doesn’t take no for an answer. The banter between them was immaculate. Having two stubborn main characters fall in love? Priceless to read. Liam and Amy are perfect for each other and became better versions of themselves as time went on. Watching Liam’s walls break down when it came to Amy was so sweet. And the spice? Phew, I was blushing. When Amy was wanting to “cash in” on Liam’s offer from the plane, you bet I was squealing and kicking my legs in the air. I couldn’t contain my excitement.

I loved each and every one of these characters (well, except for Leo for obvious reasons), and I was especially able to see myself in Amy. As a plus size woman myself, it can be hard to accept love from others, especially intimacy. The way Liam continuously expressed his love for her curves and her plus size body made my heart melt. Being able to relate to characters immediately makes me want to continue reading, and this book did not disappoint. I also loved the “found family” aspect in this book. It made me so happy to see Natalie, Amy’s best friend and Liam’s SIL, have her village. Amy and Liam didn’t think twice and were always willing to help Natalie and her new husband, Jaxon, with their kids. The love in that entire household was so sweet.

Even though this is an interconnected standalone and it’s not necessary, I do recommend reading the first book in the series, as this does seem to reference moments from that book quite often. I am so excited to read Preston and Lucy’s story next. I feel a good enemies to lovers story here, and I can’t wait for the banter between them!!

Thank you Siena Trap for the ARC of this incredible book. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Assorted thoughts:

-Oscillates wildly between pages and pages of dossier-like exposition and sex scenes

-Ik this is a romance but this is one of those books where the conflict could be solved if the characters communicated with each other. (Liam's being cold the day after he eats me out?? Better come up with a convoluted plan to get him to have more sex with me instead of asking him what's wrong.)

-Having the book told from two different perspectives means you get to relive each scene twice! 🥴

-i like a tsundere guy as much as anyone else, but Liam doesn't know how to control his anger and it's romanticized as him just being protective.

-Oh, do you guys share explicit details about your sex lives with your friends? I wouldn't want to know that about my friends. Don't tell me. Yeah that was a weird narrative device and it's like what was the point. The author tells us everything that's going on in Amanda's head anyways so we don't also need her to have a conversation about the same thing. Like pick one.

-Happy to see villain Leo make a return in this book. That was a little fun.

Review:

This was so good! If this was made into a Hallmark movie, I would watch it repeatedly.

There was a HEA, which I love. There is grumpy x sunshine, which I also love.

Liam and Amy are so cute together and I love it!

This is book 2 of a series; it does not need to be read in order, but it could be helpful if you want to read the series in order. I didn’t, and I will be going back and reading book 1.

I can’t wait to see what is next!

Whats a little arranged marriage between two grown adults who both have realized their dreams of being the single aunt and uncle may no longer be possible as new cross roads lay up ahead and serious choices have to be made. What would you do to reach your dreams? What would you do for your legacy?

I first learned about Amy and Liam's love story in Bagging The Blueliner, as I read out of order. So, a little prequel to how their love started was as entertaining and satisfying as learning how Natalie and Jaxon's story had started. Amy and Liam really are amazing team mates in regards to support and having their loved ones backs. But when they both find that they need someone to have their backs, and specifically need a significant other, their love for the loyalty to helping the people they love, means going above and beyond for each other as well.

Amy being told she needs to be married to look better for the promotion due to its high status of family involvement was a shocking turn because of its audacity. Amy and Hannah call out the illegal fact in their blunt and shameless admission, but even with those truths at hand, Amy sees no option and will lose the position. Until Liam hears, of course, and his Honorable Royal Highness can not help but white knight for our girl and bring a solution to the table. He just so happens to have been presented with a new challenge in his own future, which he thought was already set and chosen by his own hand, but a turn of events leaves him in need of finding a solution to secure his own legacy and future position as the royal head of his family and country. While this saves Natalie's children even more from their own future royal involvement, it puts him in a serious position of not only his entire life changing, but also leaving him needing someone to marry as well.

HOW PERFECT!! Well, it really was, honestly. Amy and Liam are such amazing supporting characters in our last book helping Natalie and Jaxon in their story. They are amazing role models for the kids, and selfless and supporting to the unconventional family they have built with their friends, but now that they have gotten into a very serious legal bind to one another, they start to realize that maybe their unconventional family has been lining up the start of their own family they never dreamed of having.

Watching Liam become positively obsessed with Amy was addicting. He tried so hard to keep it together for the sake of their chosen paths, but the way he fell for her and started taking care of her was swoon worthy. You can't help but want more for them as they try to get through all the stress and chaos of what an arranged fake marriage to a person you had already been living with for years but some how just recently saw her and she just happens to now be your wife and you want to touch that wife. lol, I loved it!

Amy has a huge emotional scar left by the only other guy she was involved with, and that scar really causes an annoying miscommunication issue at, again, you guessed it, at the 70% mark when things started getting serious and people started realizing that more was at stake than a simple agreement. I will admit I was heavily annoyed with our chosen issue for Amy to use as an excuse to run, leaving our couples fate in the balance. Liam had been honest and communicated everything to Amy and progressed so much in how he felt for her, and openly told her so her being so unreasonable without any give was out of character for her. But maybe that was to show the destruction of one's old character when you find your missing half and become a full person. That can make you act crazy sometimes.

This book was, again, hockey soup for the soul, lol. I loved seeing Hannah pop back up. She really is such a fun personality to add to each of these books. Her book doesn't even make her as likable as she is in everyone's else's books, lol! I love our Comets community popping in but this one was the least involved in anything hockey or the Conneticut Comets as Liam and Amy aren't involved in the team outside of knowing Natalie and Jaxon, but it was still good to get to see our familiar faces in the pages.

Liam's spicy mouth made the steamy scenes we got amazing! Watching him break for her and take what he wanted was AMAZING! lol. This was the slowest plotline, I think, so far, but once you fall in love with this family and these characters, again, this becomes like a comfort show, lol. I enjoyed the love!

Now we are moving on to Preston and Lucy, and neither have been talked about much, but they both seem to have a lot of attitude, so hopefully, the last book of the Remmington Royals is a wild one!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

“Open your eyes. … That wasn’t a request. Don’t ever doubt that I want you again. Understood?” -Liam

“Liam’s always been a protector.” “He has, but you’re the first one he’s ever protected on instinct rather than thinking through the consequences first. You’re special to him.” -Amy and Queen Adelaide

“Then I think it’s long past time I fuck that smirk off your face.” -Liam

-Liam

I can’t tell you how excited I was to read this book; I loved the first book in the Remington Royals series, Scoring the Princess, and I was so ready for Amy and Liam’s story! I thought I loved Jaxon Slate, but holy cannoli did I love Liam! (Okay, I still love Jaxon because he’s a sweet cinnamon roll and the few cameos he made in this story were great, but it was nice to add a new book boyfriend to my line-up). A tall, fit, dark-haired, blue-eyed man who’s broody and grumpy with everyone except the people he cares about is my weakness and that is the perfect definition of Liam. As for Amy, I love a fiery redhead who doesn’t let anyone boss her around and is, by her own definition, “a badass boss”. That doesn’t prevent her from accepting Liam’s help when both of them are in desperate need of a spouse. And, if you know a fake relationship story as well as I do (I freaking adore the fake relationship trope) you know that they both fully believed that their relationship was strictly business and nothing more than a piece of paper that would help them both achieve a goal. Hannah–one of Amy’s best friends–called it like we all saw it and made sure to tell Amy from the beginning that a fake marriage won’t last long being fake. Liam sure tried his very best to keep it fake because dang if he wasn’t wildly attracted to his fake wife. For years he lived with her with his sister-in-law, Natalie, and she was nothing more than Natalie’s best friend Amy; but as soon as they were married and living together, all bets were off! He got to see her fiery, beautiful personality and her gorgeous curves all day, every day and had a hard time keeping his feelings to himself. But, Liam is a prince so keeping himself in check and not giving in to impulses is one of his strong suits. Don’t worry–Amy realized how attracted she was to Liam as well, and when Liam wouldn’t make the first move, she took it upon herself to seduce her fake husband like the badass boss she is! And dang if it didn’t work like a charm–so well that every time Liam tried to stop, he ended up keeping count of how long it had been since the last time he and his wife were together! And the amount of “my wife” that Liam dropped in this book?! Absolute *chef’s kiss* but I’m a sucker for that in a fake relationship trope, honestly. Liam is a fierce protector and gives major “who did this to you” energy and will fight anyone for Amy. She might not have trouble fighting for herself, but–as she continually tried to teach Liam–they both had to learn to compromise on many fronts, including fighting for each other and taking care of each other. They’re both so stubborn that they did manage to butt heads often, but if that isn’t real marriage, I don’t know what is! They always worked it out in the end when they worked together and talked things through with each other. I absolutely adored this book and I cannot wait to see what our final Remington Royal, Lucy, gets up to in her story!

Book Review: Playing Pretend with the Prince by Siena Trap
Tropes: Fake marriage 👑, Grumpy x Sunshine ☀️, Plus-size heroine 💖, Royal romance 💍, Emotional baggage 🧳, Third-act breakup 🚨, Miscommunication meltdown 📉, Ride-or-die friend group 💬

⭐️⭐️⭐ (because Liam carried this book on his regal back and Amy’s friends deserve a group chat spin-off)

Let’s start with the wins: Amy is a plus-size queen and Liam is obsessed in the best way. He’s broody, emotionally fluent, and fully devoted. Their fake marriage setup? Mutually beneficial, emotionally healing, and low-key steamy. Amy’s been burned before (by one mediocre man, which apparently equals a lifetime of trust issues 🙄), but Liam shows up with patience, softness, and a whole lot of “I’ll fight your demons for you” energy.

And Amy’s friend group? ICONIC. Cringy at times, yes, but always supportive. They hype her up, hold her accountable, and never let her spiral alone. It’s giving “group chat therapy” and I love that Amy has people who show up for her even when she’s emotionally tap-dancing around her own feelings.

So why, WHY, did Siena decide to throw a third-act breakup into the mix like it was seasoning? The plot was already plotting. We had tension. We had growth. We had a fake marriage turning real in the most satisfying way. And then bam......miscommunication so flimsy it could’ve been solved with a single adult conversation or, I don’t know, a sticky note.

It didn’t deepen the story. It derailed it.

That said, the ending eventually got there. The resolution was sweet, the emotional payoff was decent, and I didn’t actually throw the book out the window. But the miscommunication trope felt lazy, especially when the characters had already proven they could do better.

Final thoughts: This book had royal potential, but the ending felt like a betrayal. I wanted a coronation. I got a plot tantrum. Still, Liam and Amy’s chemistry? 🔥 And her friend group? I’d read a whole novella about their chaotic brunches.

If you enjoyed this book (or just want the vibes without the heartbreak), try:
- The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert — Fake royal romance with a plus-size heroine and actual emotional payoff
- To Sir, With Love by Lauren Layne — Grumpy x sunshine with a slow burn and no third-act sabotage
- Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins — Queer royal romance with charm, sass, and satisfying resolution
- The Duke and I by Alexis Hall — Emotional depth, fake relationship, and a hero who actually communicates
- American Royals by Katharine McGee — If you want royal drama without pretending it’s emotionally healthy

This was fun but not as good as it could’ve been. It took me awhile to get into it at least 100 pages. And it felt about 100 pages too long.

They go from indifference and absolutely no feelings for each other to instalust as soon as she puts on a dress. I didn’t read the first book in the series but I found it hard to believe the quick change in feelings after living together FOR THREE YEARS. Would’ve been better to see some flirtation or least banter while they were living in that house together. Liam was just really quiet, cold, and bossy for most of the book. Hard to believe he stepped away from royal life for three years to be a babysitter. Then he has a total personality change and keeps begging her to have a baby.

The major conflict of the book:
-she agrees to marry him to get a promotion at work and he doesn’t tell her he is next in line for the throne and she will be queen.
-when he finally tells her his secret, she forgives him easily after he says he says he’s willing to let his little sister take the throne instead. Our heroine says she actually does want to be queen and she rewards him with a bj lol.
-then we find out they don’t have to be king and queen for like another 20 years or until his parents die and that took all the wind out of that plot.

He refuses to kiss her on the lips (but loves going downtown) for most of the book because he’s scared of falling in love with his wife. Lol dumb.

Amy experienced SA in college and never had sex again yet is able to take Liam’s monster D with ease. I hate how books portray this. She also came off kinda desperate always pursuing him.

There’s tons of pages about her philanthropic job and how good of a person she is. It fits the roll of a royal well but I found it so boring.

She’s a size 18 and 5’9” but it’s hardly ever mentioned. So I pretty much forget about it and thought she was straight sized. Would’ve been better if he said curvy or plus size girls were his type. But we come to find he had a crush on her friend Natalie and has only ever dated skinny girls.

I found her one friend the sex obsessed party girl annoying. But I’m sure there will be a book about her.

The smut was hot. I’ll give it that. He’s very strong and able to pick her up and put her on countertops or do it against walls.

Title: Playing Pretend With The Prince
Author: Siena Trap
The Remington Royals Series Book Two

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 5/5
Stars:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

Although can be read as a standalone, I'd recommend reading the first book, Scoring The Princess, The Remington Royals Book One, first; as this book is the second in the series.

If you want a big cock, deep pocketed, broody Prince with a hero complex then look no further. 😏
Be prepared to fall in love with your new book boyfriend: meet His Royal Highness Prince William of Belleston. Liam, as our bossy heroine calls him.

If you love an always optimistic, no shit-taking, plus sized voluptuous sassy and ever the voice of reason heroine, then choose this series! Amy is such a fiesty and loving character, I would love to have her as my best friend!

Continuing on from where we left Natalie and Jaxon in Scoring The Princess, we are given a deeper look into Amy's and Liam's relationship and who tf doesn't love a good friends to lovers trope?

So many things in this book/ these series, I could go on and on. This hits all the HEA feels, sprinkled with steamy smut, ever present with a grumpy prince with this sunshine princess by his side.
Oh, and there's a bonus scene! (And for each book too!).

I love the way he always wants to save her, and is always putting others before him. Who doesn't want that from a man? And who knew that a sensitive guy lurked beneath his brooding demeanor? Not all is what as seems with these books, and the surprises have left me devouring the series and bonus chapters within one sitting. What can I say? I'm a sucker for Happy Endings...

Be careful though! Because just like Amy here, playing pretend with this Prince will have your panties soaked!

Keep your toys charged!

I knew this shit was going to be good, but I didn’t expect it to be THAT GOOD. HOLY SHIT.
I didn’t know what I was in for when it came to Amy and Liam, especially William as he has always been perceived as the scowling brother, and the protector. Amy though, I knew of course she was a bad ass heroine who was confident as fuck and didn’t need no man. YESSS BITTCCH.

BUT OH MY FUCKING GOD. LIAM. LIAAAAMMMMMM. WHAT THE FUCCCKKKKK. I am utterly mind blown right now. WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN. WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING? YOU DELICIOUS SEX GOD. WHAT. THE. FUCK. I read my fair share of smut, and I must say, I have not blushed this hard or cackled this nervously in A LONG TIME. I am completely speechless. I am DYYIINGGG over seeing this unknown side of Liam and I AM FUCKING LOVING IT. I had to physically stop myself from continuing to read as I didn’t want to finish it so quickly, as I wanted to revel in this for as long as I could.

The circumstances don’t even get me started. Oh my god. It lined up fucking perfectly, and I LOOVVEEEE a good fake dating or “playing pretend” trope. I am 100% Hannah and with her on this. And of course, I had a giant smirk on my face with the mention of Amy noticing Hannah and Cal *evil cackle*. I am completely and utterly obsessed with Liam and Amy. I just can’t. Their chemistry is actually FUCKING ADORABLE and their tendencies to take control, especially in the bedroom… *wink, wink* IS FIRREEEEE. UGGGHHH I CAN’T GET ENOUGH. Oh, and his moment of “doing it right” got me SWOONINNGGGGG. And don’t even get me started on that bonus scene *fallen to the floor swoon*.

I AM IN LOVE. THAT’S IT. YUP. DONE.

👑 "Playing Pretend with the Prince," the second book in the Remington Royals series by Siena Trap, is a delightful blend of romance, drama, and a touch of royalty that will have readers swooning and cheering for the main characters. 🌟

The story revolves around a unique and modern fairytale twist. The protagonist, a strong-willed and career-driven woman, finds herself in a bind when her dream job demands her to be married. Enter Liam Remington, a prince with a hero complex, who offers a solution: a marriage of convenience. 💼💍

What sets this novel apart is its refreshing take on gender dynamics. It's exhilarating to see the female lead taking charge in the relationship, flipping the traditional script of courtship. This aspect, combined with the positive representation of plus-sized women, makes the book not only entertaining but also empowering. 🚺💪

As the story unfolds, the pretend marriage starts feeling all too real. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, and their interactions are filled with intimate touches and heated glances that will leave readers breathless. 🔥👀

Siena Trap masterfully balances the elements of romance, friendship, and personal growth, making this book more than just a love story. It's a journey of self-discovery and breaking societal norms. 🛤️🌟

"Playing Pretend with the Prince" is a must-read for anyone who loves a good romance with a twist. It's a story that proves love can come in the most unexpected packages and that sometimes, playing pretend can lead to the most real and profound experiences.

***ARC REVIEW***

*Possible Spoilers*

I love Liam's story. If you haven't read Scoring the Princess: A Hockey Romance; go read it first. This starts with the POV of Liam three years prior to Scoring the Princess and how they left Belleston. You get his version of how he helped Natalie get away. This was a fantastic friends-to-lovers, fake marriage story. Amy is hell0bent on her career and not even thinking about love, marriage, or having a family, but when a promotion comes up and they indirectly tell her that she would only get it if she had a family, she is devastated. Here comes our 'knight-in-shining armor" Liam, who finds out a family secret (has to do with his brother Leo), and because of this has to find a wife. Both Liam and Amy have been helping Natalie and Jaxon raise their children and have been friends since they moved back to the States, so a fake marriage seemed like the best option to help both of them and make everyone happy. Love that we get to see a little more of Lucy (Liam's baby sister) in this story and love the role that she plays in helping Amy and Liam connect.

The final line of the book wraps the whole story up so nicely "Who knew playing pretend with the prince would turn out to be the best decision I'd ever made in my life?"

3.5/5 ⭐️

I love Amy and her fiery, independent personality and Liam finally found someone to balance out his brooding self. However, I did find their relationship rushed at times and a bit messy. With this being a fake dating story, I expected messy, but sometimes it just didn’t feel right.

Amy and Liam have been roommates, living with their best friend and sister in law to help raise Natalie’s kids. They didn’t even acknowledge each other until both of them needed a spouse for separate reasons. Throughout the story they would have internal wars with themselves going back and forth with how they felt about the other. Constant hookups and wondering if more would come out of it was a constant.

Liam was constantly trying to protect Amy from himself because he didn’t want to hurt her and was too stubborn to see that she didn’t need protecting. But also couldn’t get the balls to actually talk to her was annoying (leads to third act breakup).

Amy falls in love with Liam after a while, but after a tabloid leak, throws everything out the window instead of being rational. While I get that it can make people irrational, Natalie had even told her that the tabloids make shit up all the time, that’s what they did to Natalie the whole time she was married to Leo. Therefore, take the tabloids for a grain of salt because they’re full of shit and believing them instead of just talking it out would’ve saved them a whole lot of pain and suffering.

Diving into this book felt like stumbling upon a hidden cafe with the most divine desserts – unexpected and delightful. "Marrying for convenience" stories might not be new, but combine a fierce, career-focused woman with a prince on the cusp of becoming heir? It's like pairing a velvety cheesecake with a zesty berry compote – delectably irresistible!

Amy stands out, not just as a character but as a beacon for every woman who's ever owned their stride. Her confidence and authenticity? Refreshingly relatable. Now, let's talk about Liam. He's the princely version of that aloof guy from college who surprisingly remembers tiny details about you. Watching him evolve from Mr. Royal Grump to being in sync with Amy's every need? Heartstrings officially tugged.

Their rapport is pure gold. Amy's influence on Liam, reminding him that it's okay to let go and embrace partnership, is the kind of relationship evolution that keeps you hooked. Their banter? Think of that spark when you unexpectedly click with someone at a party.

In essence, this book is like a cozy blanket on a chilly evening – comforting, warm, and leaving you craving more. I'm holding out hope we'll see more of this enchanting duo in future tales. Meanwhile, here's to dreaming of palaces, power pairs, and witty exchanges!

I received this ARC for my honest review. I loved this book. Liam Remington lived with Amy while they were both living with Natalie and helping Natalie raise her 3 kids.

Liam was called back home and got some bombshell news. His parents told him he needed a wife eventually. Liam never wanted to get married or be with anyone after the way he saw is brother Leo treat Natalie.

Amy is Oil Princess. She has helped Natalie with her kids. After one disaster night by an ahole guy she vowed to never be with anyone or marry anyone and she became confident in herself. She wasn’t even sure if she wanted to have kids. Amy loves to help people. The company she works for helps unite families together again. She’s been trying to get a promotion but the high ups basically said she needed to be married.

When Liam comes back and hears about what happened with Amy’s job he suggests that they get married to help each other. They have a contract that’s been signed and they fly to Vegas for a quick wedding.

Obviously sparks are flying between them and they are starting to realize they had feelings for each other. The sex scenes were 🔥🔥🔥🔥.

I love that the MFC is a size 18. There are full figure women and I love the representation. Now I can’t wait to read the 3rd book which is about Liam’s sister Lucy. But I really hope you write a book about Hannah!!!!

This was the second book in The Remington Royals and I loved it. Excited for the next book. In book one we got to see Liam and Amy but this book was their journey. It was nice to get updates about the other characters too.

Liam’s brother is not taking the throne and Liam eventually will and needs to be married. Amy is up for a promotion but since she does not have a family she will be overlooked. Liam finds out about this and offers to marry her for both of their benefits. But Amy does not know eventually Liam will take the throne.

Liam and Amy got married in Vegas and it was a way to help each other and they had rules written in the contract. Feelings that were always there just deep down started to grow and lines were crossed. Liam had many walls up since Amy did not know the full truth. I felt bad for both of them since they wanted each other but walls were just ruining what they had.

Liam had gone back to his home to attend business and Amy stayed home. When this happened I felt like something bad was going to happen and things took a turn. After weeks apart Amy and Liam were reunited. The truth and feelings all come out. They were really missing the communication part and they finally let all the walls down and everything came out. Amy and Liam finally got their happy ending.

Arc Review: (Possible Spoilers)**
Thank you to Siena Trap for allowing me to read this novel as an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

4.5/5⭐️,3/5🌶️

If you like;
-Grumpy Sunshine,
-Forced Proximity,
-Best Friends Brother,
-Marriage of Convenience,
-Dual POV,
Then you’ll love this book too!

Liam Remington: A grumpy man who feels the need to protect the main few women in his life. Terrified to love but stuck in a difficult situation.
Amy Michaels: A strong independent, work driven women. Up for a giant promotion at work but also being thrown into a difficult situation.
When Liam comes up with a plan that can hopefully help them both in the long run how does it pan out? Does Amy get the promotion? Does Liam benefit from this? Do they both fall in love?

Playing Pretend with the Prince was a fantastic read. Through the highs and the lows, I fell in love with both Amy and Liam. What a beautiful couple they turned out to be. With Amy being a curvy women it actually made it feel even more real. Like I could relate to a character in a book for once! Liam being sooo protective had me swooning over him from the start and he’s definitely top of the book boyfriend list❤️ This book had love, it had fights, it even had lots of spice! 😮‍💨

I highly recommend reading the first book in the series: Scoring the Princess. But then this book should be next! ❤️❤️

marriage of convenience - best friends brother - grumpy X sunshine - forced proximity - prince - curvy fmc

following the first book in the series, amy & liam both live with Natalie and her kids, after they fled from his hometown, and her husband. amy moved in with all of them to help raise the kids and look after nat.
liam was just told by his parents, he needed to settle down and find a wife asap.
amy is super career driven, to the point where she married liam to get a promotion. she never wanted a husband, but after liam brought up that it could help her with her promotion, she gave in and they ran away to vegas and got married. they then moved in together, but never spoke or seen each other since they worked opposite shifts, until one day…

this book was so good. i LOVEEDDD it! just like the first book in the series. i can’t wait for the third to come out, and i hope later down the line, there’s at least a short novella about hannah!
i loved that her (their, technically) bestfriend was just right next door. i loved the way the book played out with jaxon giving them the house, and being there when liam needed him the most, despite how they feel about each other.
had a great plot, great spice, and drew me in from the beginning!

i received this book as an arc and im leaving this review voluntarily

This is the second book in The Remington Royals series. This can be read as a stand-alone. I didn’t read the first one and I feel like this was very easy to read without it.

This story follows Liam and Amy. They both know each other because Amy is best friends with Natalie, who is Liam’s sister-in-law. They both live in the same house as Natalie helping her raise her kids and have just always been acquaintances.

Together they decided to marry each other for different beneficial reasons. Liam and Amy both felt they they would have no problem keeping feelings out of it because for different reasons they felt love just wasn’t for them.

Though out the book and different events they become closer and eventually feelings start to grow. But a secret Liam is keeping threatens to ruin everything that has grown between them.

After some work is put in by both parties it does end in a happy ending.

My review is based on while did enjoy the story I felt like some scenes felt rushed to me and could have been explored more. I also felt like when Liam’s secret is revealed I felt like Amy could have made him grovel and work for forgiveness more.

Still a very enjoyable read and I look forward to book 3 with Lucy!

Playing Pretend with the Prince is book 2 of the Remington Royals series. While this book is a standalone in the Remington Royals series, I would fully recommend reading book 1 (Scoring the Princess) for the back story of the characters.

💍Fake Marriage
❤️Friends to Lovers
🌩️☀️Grumpy/Sunshine
💃Curvy confident FMC
👑He's a prince
💔She's been burned before

Amy needs a husband for her job. Liam needs a wife for his kingdom. Why not help each other out? 😉

All of sudden all the "fake" doesn't feel so fake anymore.

"If I kiss you again, that spark will ignite, and the flames have the power to consume us both."

I loved this book. I went into this book hesitant about Liam since he came across as an entitled jerk in Book 1 but trust me I was WON OVER in this one. Amy challenged him at every turn and I love that for him. Just what he needed to let his guard down.

The relationship between Amy & Liam was perfect. Liam was icy and Amy was all fire. Their banter was great, the tension between them was awesome. The spicy times were great but didn't over power the book.

5⭐ 2🌶️

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I am a fan of this series and cannot wait to read Lucy's story next!

Thank you to Siena Trap for the Advanced Readers' Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

The moment that I saw this book, the sequel to Scoring the Princess, I immediately decided everything else on my TBR did not matter. I love love, loved this novel, Siena Trap takes readers on a ride with these beautiful romances and the healing of very realistic traumas in both the men and the women in this story.

From the first book Liam seemed clear as a character he was loyal, protective, and trying to make up for his brother’s sins however in this novel he becomes so much more than that. He becomes a man trying to understand he is worthy of love and worthy of the role his family will soon give him. Amy also seemed to be a clear character in the first novel she was a typical best friend for Natalie who did everything she could to keep her best friend from missing out on life while also being loyal and passionate and in this now we see her fiery personality, how headstrong she is, her tenacity, and we understand why she is standoffish when it comes to men.

I adored this so much I had to give it a 4.75, my only wish was we’d see how Amy developed more into her soon-to-be role instead, but the Epilogue gave me enough to picture it myself.

This is book two of the Remington Royals series. We met Amy and her boss girl energy in book one, along with the possessive and protective Liam. Amy and Liam are both stubborn people but have kind hearts. From the beginning, you can tell there was something between them they weren’t ready to explore. Their forced proximity and new arrangement really helped to picture them as more than just the Amy and Liam we met in book one. As someone who can relate to Amy, I love how confident she is and lets Liam know she doesn’t need him. Their spicy moments really show you how Liam’s dominant yet compassionate. Let’s not forget how amazing Amy’s work is and that he fully supports her goals. You can really see how their communication needed to improve to make their “fake” marriage work. After some time apart and admitting their truths they were able to have the ending they so desperately deserved! I can’t forget to mention revisiting all of the characters from book one! I love when we get to see their stories continue to unfold. Thank you Siena Trap for another amazing story. I can not wait for the next one!!

Siena does it again with another awesome installment in The Remington Royals! 👑 I’ve loved this series from the start, and this one definitely delivered. The audio was top notch—Mia and Patrick absolutely nailed Amy and Liam’s story. 🎧

Mia brought Amy’s badass energy 🔥 to life in such a natural way, while also capturing Lucy’s sass perfectly (seriously, every Lucy moment made me grin). Patrick was the perfect Liam—you could hear the protectiveness and love in his voice ❤️ not just for Amy, but for their entire found family. That emotional depth made Liam jump right off the page.

The chemistry between these two characters shined even more through the narration. I found myself completely immersed, like I was right there with the Royals. Mia and Patrick continue to prove they’re such a strong duo, elevating the story in all the best ways.

This series has quickly become one of my favorites, and I’m so excited (and a little sad) to head into the final book. 🙌📚 If you love romance with heart, family, and just the right amount of sass, don’t skip this one.

This was so much more heartbreaking listening to the book.

This book is the 2nd book in the Remington Royals Series.

Amy is a career driven woman who is led to believe she needs to find a husband in order to get the promotion she wants. Liam all of a sudden finds himself in line for the throne of his country and his family says he needs a wife. Both of them all of a sudden need a spouse and so of course, they marry each other!

This has:
⭐Marriage of conveinece
⭐Grumpy/ sunshine
⭐Best friend's brother in law
⭐Friends to lovers

I loved how fiercely protective Liam was. He tried so hard not to fall for Amy but he didn't stand a chance. I loved how Amy was a curvy woman who was so confident in her own skin! And Liam loved allll her curves. Both went into this marriage just needing a spouse and they ended up wanting/needing each other more than the job.

I personally didn't read the first one in the series and you do not have to in order to read this one but it does reference a few things that happen in the 1st book. I will definitely be going back to read it and I cannot wait for the 3rd one!

SO SO Good.
