What happens when the head of the Libellula crime family becomes obsessed with a woman who has spent the last year plotting to bring him down?
Why, he blackmails her into becoming his bride, of course…Savannah
Five years ago, the Libellula Family ruined my life.
It doesn’t matter who was responsible. I blamed the man who created his gang of Damien Libellula himself. If it wasn’t for him giving free rein to his soldiers to pass their funny money through my store, I wouldn’t have been accused of money laundering—and counterfeiting.
I was a naive twenty-five-year-old then. Four years in a minimum-security prison later, and I’m out for revenge.
I changed my name. My hair. My accent.
My life.
And I did that all because my plan to get revenge on Damien? I’m going to stalk him. Infiltrate my way into his life in any way I can. I’m going to make him trust me.
Maybe even love me.
I’m going to seduce him—and then I’m going to kill him.
At least, that was the plan. But Damien, he has a different one.
Before I can do any of that, he makes me his wife.
Damien
I thought it was amusing at first. The gorgeous brunette who followed me everywhere, too stunning to hide in any crowd.
Then, when I grew impatient to see what it was she wanted with me, I approached her—and she stabbed me in my side.
Another man might be put off by something like that. Not me. I’ve always liked my women feisty, and Savannah’s murderous side was so refreshing in a world where everyone bows down to me.
At that moment, I decided I would do everything to bring her to her knees.
Following a page out of my old rival’s book, I made her a she goes back to prison—and that’s assuming she survives my Family long enough to be charged for attempted murder—or she gives up her freedom and becomes my bride.
I know she only chooses the second option because she thinks she can get close enough to kill me again.
I must say, I’m looking forward to her trying… especially when I’ll certainly enjoy showing her just why she shouldn’t.
*Dragonfly is the third book in the Deal with the Devil series, a collection of interconnected standalones set in the fictional crime hotspot of Springfield. It tells the story of mafia leader Damien Libellula and the one woman who will trade revenge for something more, Savannah Montgomery.
Not as good as the first two, but definitely still a good, easy read. Would have been a 4 star, but there was just so many typos and errors in the Kindle version. Can’t wait for books 4 & 5!

thoughts💭 woah so the plot of this book kept me engaged! I absolutely have loved every book and this series it just keeps getting better!! Damien: The man he is- his character definitely shocked me. He was grumpy but he cared so much for the people he loved including the girl he forced to marry him( Savannah) Savannah:Savannah has spent the last few years in prison and she as been planing her revenge the crazy twist the man she is ready to kill happens to be the same man who just asked her to marry him. so after several failed attempts she went you know what if you can't beat them join them- I loved her she was so strong and I absolutely lovedddd watching her character heal and find herself!! I loved this couple! did it start off a little rough..yes but did it get better? ALSO YES! I Absolutely highly recommend this book but also this series it been so good and I'm so excited for the next book!!
Dragonfly by Carin Hart is third book in the Deal With The Devil. This series just keeps getting better and better. I am absolutely obsessed with this series. Carin Hart has a new fan because I am loving her books. This was a hate to love mafia romance with a bit of an age gap. These characters are so amazing. This plot line was exciting and well paced. I loved the character development. I am excited to get to Cross and Genevieve’s story.
Savannah was badass, feisty, and witty. She had me laughing so much throughout this book. I thought she was such a relatable character. Watching her fall for Damien was everything. Damien was obsessive, protective, morally grey, and a sweetheart. The things this man does for those he loves had me giddy. For such a badass and powerful man he was such a softie. Savannah and Damien were perfect for each other! I am obsessed with them. I highly recommend not only Dragonfly but the entire Deal With The Devil series!
This is book three where the author takes us to the East End of Springfield, where The Dragonfly aka Damien reigns. I like Damien because he is no nonsense, clever, alpha, and very handsome. I like that he and the Devil have their monthly meetings to make sure things are running smoothly and to keep the truce. There is a problem growing in both their territories and they will need to do work to squash it. Next Damien has a stalker, he has noticed for about four months. She is a beautiful young woman (Georgia aka Savannah). Georgia has been so wronged by Damien’s people, but The Dragonfly has no idea. A rude awakening is coming. Please mind the triggers that the author mentions at the beginning of this book. There is a happy ending after some interesting twists. Read On!
I just really enjoy the characters that Carin Hart creates. Each one of them is unique enough that I can enjoy the story, but they still fit within this universe that she has created. Savannah and Damien are perfect as characters in this world. The fact that they are both equally unhinged and obsessed, but in different ways was just such a fun take. And this was honestly the first time that I’ve enjoyed a stalker romance where the FMC was the stalker.
The writing, as always, was really well done. The pacing for the plot was perfect. It fit really well with the pacing of the relationship building. I do have some gripes with the way Damien treated Savannah in the beginning however, it worked well enough and I feel like he did redeem himself
Overall, this is perfect. I look forward to the rest of the series and everything else that Carin Hart puts out.
It was more interesting than the previous ones. I liked the plot a lot and i was very excited for the main female character to be a badass, strong and sassy lead. She was something like it but not what i was expecting. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. You may want to read it when you are in a reading slump cause it's very fast paced and the romance is instant so it's easy to binge read the whole series. Also, something that caught my eye was how many spelling mistakes this book had and incomplete words. I think it's a mistake and i still had a good time reading it but it definitely was noticiable. I can't wait to read the next one cause i want Cross and Gen's story so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damien was a man intrigued by the unknown of a mystery girl who was stalking him. Savannah was a girl ready to fight for the vengeance she felt she deserved. They quickly fell for one another because they were just the rawest forms of themselves. However I wish more had gone into Savannah’s hardship as it was discussed and then not addressed again but it was the whole reason she was after Damien. I loved their story because they were able to fight together and for one another which helped them overcome their largest hurdles. Damien is also a ‘’my wife” guy and I love that energy as Savannah gives it right back to him.
While I would have liked this to be a little longer because I enjoyed the tension between Savannah and Damien perhaps a little too much, I still loved this book. I loved learning about the gaps in his personality which eventually got Savannah to fall in love, try as she might to remain hating him till death did them part. I absolutely loved her character arc and I loved Damien's contributions to Savannah's self-actualization in the name of love. Damien's sister Genevieve is also a great side character, and I'm really looking forward to reading her book next!
This book is a great read. Fast paced, has a little bit of everything. I feel like the ending was a bit rushed. Great story with a fun twist. A decent amount of spice without going overboard. Did I mention the cat? Yes. There’s a cat.
We love a solid enemies to lovers romance.
I loved the character development of our FMC, and I loved that our MMC was able to show his softer romantic side. Their relationship building was great as well.
I liked all of the books in this series so far,but this might be my favorite.Damian is all smooth and sophisticated until he isn't.His violence simmers just under the surface.Savannah has a legitimate reason to hold bitterness and hatred against Damian for the 4 years she was incarcerated. It turned out well in the end.Excellent book with an unusual turn-about toward the end.Now on to Genevieve's story.
Damien knows Savannah is stalking him, he just didn't know why? The years she spent in prison because of the money laundering and four years of her innocent life because of Damien the head mafia early days using her business unbeknownst to her she change and wanted vengeance against Damien great story, I enjoyed it. From first page to last ending.
Good book spicy level i would say is 🌶🌶🌶. The middle i did feel like it got a bit slow but it did pick up. I do love that Savannah did come to her own. Loved that they are both "touch her/him and die" especially liked that Damon learned his sweet Savannah has a much darker side.
I loved this book i even thought it was funny at certain points loved there relationship and his attitude at times he had a attitude u just wanted to smack lol but the only reason i didn’t give 5 stars was cause it had some spelling errors
My only complaint for this story is how short the final antagonist scene was. I wish there would’ve been more details and a longer fight, especially with how much of a buildup there was to the altercation. Otherwise, I really enjoyed Savannah’s backstory and motive, Damien’s intensity and charm, and the realistic but heartfelt delve into the traumas faced and overcome.
Explicit. This sounded so promising, the premise was really interesting but it failed as an enemies to lovers in my book. I felt like the enemies part went by too quickly and I wish Hart had built up to the confrontation a little longer, just to build the tension. Fun concept!
I love this series! I’ve binged them all! My only critique is that I wish they were longer! I want more more more! This one was my favorite out of the series so far. I cannot wait for dance with the devil in November.
Each book in this series keeps getting better and better. Cannot wait to read the 4th one! I loved the ending with the tattoos. Something I wasn't thinking about until I read it and put that cherry on top of the perfect sundae!
Oh. My. God. When I say I love a strong heroine, someone like Savannah is what I mean. She made the cliche rescue mission at the end of basically every mafia romance something that’s gonna live rent free in my brain for a very long time
Mafia kingpin, violent life, suddenly in want for a stalker female who wants to kill him. Complicated love story! Damian finds someone who intrigues him and he has to find a way to atone for the damage his mob gang did to her. Enjoyed
Ahh this book was so good! I loved how it started with her hating his guts to falling in love with him! Damien is so demented for making Savannah his wife but I love it! Their banter and build up was everything and Savannah being a total badass was everything! 🙂↕️
Truly a great story. The herione has a thing for knife play which is different. She likes to use the knife on the hero. The ending is different too which was refreshing.
While not a bad book, it’s not a great book for me. If you like mafia romance and dominating alpha males then it checks the boxes. It’s an easy read that will keep you entertained.
Best of the series so far. Love Savannah’s character. She’s fiesty and strong. And the way she single handily resolves Damian’s problem with a rival - awesome!!
