My first kill was for her. From that day on, I knew I’d always protect my dangerous little viper. However, I didn’t understand how violently those protective instincts would change the day she turned sixteen. From then on, I protected not only her but our future. Vivian belonged to me and no one else. If you touched her, you’d pay. I killed for her again, but it was one of my own this time. And today, I crossed a line that solidified our fate and forced my hand, or so I made her believe. Sometimes, you have to subdue beautiful but deadly creatures.
Vivian How can you love and hate the same man with the same breath? He’s powerful, handsome, dangerous, and evil. Everything women in our world crave. When I was young, I wanted to be just like him. Then, as I grew, I wanted to be just with him, but I’m not that girl. He sees me as a menace, underhanded, and a venomous animal. Not his future. Unfortunately, I forced his hand, intertwining our fates. And to save face and to protect us, he’s doing the unthinkable — making me his wife. I have to get away.
Safe No cheating No OM (she does threaten to look for suitors to marry, she never does but she threatens to do it to get Matteo jealous thinking he hates her and doesn't want her. So in her hurt she lashes out, there is no OM though it is all talk that she doesn't mean. It isn't graphic either so no worries.) No OW No separation (they grew up together, second generation MC's) No gross condom us DUAL VIRGIN HEA This is the story of Vivian a spoiled, difficult mafia princess and Matteo, also son of a different mafia family (kids from the previous couples in the series). She is reckless and bloodthirsty, getting herself in trouble and he is frustrated with her antics. I remember reading the epilogue of I think book 3 where Vivian is little and the parents call her a trouble maker and a little devil. I felt bad for the girl, it seemed like the parents (couple from book 3) considered her a burden. I did not like it so I get it, when she is all grown up now she lashes out, especially when her parents treat her like she is trouble, she will rebel and be like, 'fine, I am trouble so here is me bringing you trouble". I can see her being an unsympathetic character, but I feel bad for her. Matteo was always protective of her and now on her 18th birthday, he forces her hand to marry. I have to say I did not like how he treated the situation, it felt off and in bad taste to me. So she sneaks into Matteo's mansion and in his office. He spies on her and goes in the office where he sees her bent over his desk, with his right hand man/best friend covering her mouth and the other hand on her pussy. At first he thinks it is consensual, but a second later he sees she is being assaulted. He shoots him in the head, takes her in the bedroom and spanks her then makes her cum. That was their first kiss and first sexual encounter. Then he tells her that she caused trouble and it cost him his right hand man's life, like it was her fault. I hated this whole exchange. She didn't ask to be shoved down a desk and groped by a brute, and she did not deserve to have her assailants blood on her hands because Matteo killed him. He says that no one touches what is his, and she belongs to him. This was a way for Matteo to keep his hissing viper close, so he tricks her into an ultimatum and marry her. I did not like that she was looking for other suitors, but she said that to anger Matteo, because she thought the only man she loves thinks of her as trouble and hates her, so she tries to make him jealous and she never thought he wanted her. This whole dynamic felt off. Too many elements made this a mess on both sides. The only thing that saved it is that they both know they are virgins and each others one and only. He tells her so she knows he is all hers and never touched a woman in his life, it was always her he wanted, and he knows she is a virgin because he keeps tabs on her. It got better when they got their feelings out, and after they marry (on her bday and he was injured it didn't stop him, I liked that), the couple felt like a couple that would withstand the test of time. It took a while with unnecessary drama and faux pas to get there though. After she has her baby she tells her parents how sorry she is to have been a difficult child, and her parents tell her they love her and her devilish ways. I am glad we see the parents really love Vivian, because in the epilogue of the 3rd book, I did not like how they thought of her as a troublesome. This is the weakest in the series for sure. The scene where she is groped, clearly shaken up and then Matteo throws her on the bed was just not the right time to have a sexy scene. I would have wanted him to be loving, sweet and attentive to her. She needed that from him. This was a mess, I did not care for it, the dual virgin thing saved it though. I love CM Steele! She gives us a lot of dual virgin goodness, so I will keep reading her books and they are safe. Happy reading.
Wow I thought Alessio, Dario and Enrico were obsessed with their women, but Matteo beat them by a mile 😏 Matteo is the son of Dario and May, and is obsessed with Vivian the daughter of January and Enrico. Vivian is a hell raiser since she was born and Matteo always saved her from others and herself. What Vivian doesn't know is that Matteo is obsessed with her and just knows that she will be his Queen. Matteo fights for his woman and finally can take her for himself on her 18th birthday. 🥰🥰 First and true love, sweet, steamy, romantic, with action, without drama with a sweet HEA and a bunch of action.😍😍😍😍 And heck yes he was so obsessed, there wasn't another one for him or her 😏 Double virgins-heck yes ❤️❤️I really hope we get more second generation stories 👍👍
i wanted to like this novella more but i was really thrown off by the fast-paced writing! it honestly wasn’t my fav at all even though it has one of my fav tropes: dual virgins. this book brought me back to 2014 with the amount of slut shaming it has and i didn’t appreciate how violent the H was with the heroine in the beginning after she was SA’ed. like babe… read the room.
it was strangely fast-paced and slow at the same time, didn’t have a lot of redeeming qualities. i was wondering when this book would end and it was a NOVELLA!
safety: dual virgins, h SA’ed in the beginning (before H and h get together) no omd/owd
Tropes : mafia romance, childhood friends Ending : HEA (they’re married and have a baby son) Triggers : violence, attempted sexual assault Spice : 🌶️🌶️/5 Angst : 🔥/5 OM/OW drama : both (OM was guys that hit on the h, OW was an obsessed girl) Celibate : yes Kink: rough sex, oral, dual virgins, breeding, no condoms
Not so safe. ❌ 🚩 Slut shaming language and victim blaming after almost getting raped.
I tried really hard to like this one but it’s too much toxic masculinity for me.
h almost gets raped after being lured to H’s house by his second in command under false pretenses. He walks in on them and is enraged but after he deals with his underboss he punishes the h?? WHY? She was tricked and then almost assaulted. It was her first kiss and first sexual experience and he treated her like a common whore.
Also the line “I wasn’t planning on waiting but the bloodlust was all I became” when Viv was waiting for Matteo and loved him her whole life was CHEAP.
He wasn’t planning on waiting and intended on being another mafia manwhore but his lust for a 16 year old got in the way of his original plans. ICK. Sounds like Steele wants her heroines to settle for the first man who “chooses” them. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Dual virgins No cheating 0/5 the writing was awkward and disjointed. Suddenly you find yourself in a completely different situation with different dialogue out of nowhere while reading. Also Matteo was cruel and shitty to Vivian. Hated this one.
book info: - novella - mafia romance - no cheating, opd, third act breakup - dual virgin - violence - attempted sa - stalking - breeding - hea
this story is the second generation and the mcs have known each other since they were kids. it's cute reading how they're obsessed with each other and that the mmc waited for the fmc. they were each other firsts and i'm so glad to read that because my last book had a manhoe mmc, and i need a palette cleanser.
violence is definitely present because this is a mafia romance. this also has a stalker, a woman obsessed with matteo. he didn't know her but this woman is delulu so there's that.
overall, i liked it and i enjoyed the story. but i'll never be okay with name calling of other women. this is the usual thing with this author, and honestly it's not cool, but that's just my opinion 🤷♀️
anyway, this is short and quick read. worth reading if readers want to pass some time.
“Where is my devil bride?” “In her room, finding a way to escape,” I say. “What brings you over here?” “As expected. I came to make sure she’s well-guarded. I have a feeling she’s ready to do her usual escape tricks.” “You’re calm about this,” January says, eyeing him with suspicion. “Well, I’m used to cleaning up after her, but she made me kill one of my capos today. A favorite and the brat did it on purpose, so if she wants the attention so badly, I’ll give it to her, forever.”
“Just don’t hurt my little girl. She’s crazy enough to return the favor.” “I’m well aware of who she is. I happen to think she’s the perfect woman to be at my side, and I’m sure you know that if anyone is capable of being the wife of a mob boss, it’s Vivian.” “Shit, she’d rather be the boss.”
This story was more novella than full length novel. The plot resolved quickly and we were jumping into the future in the epilogue. Some events could have been fleshed out more. The woman at the end who just randomly showed up was out of place with no buildup or connection to the rest of story. There were numerous senses like this that didn’t help the plot flow but seemed out of place and needed more depth to make sense. There were some misplaced or extra words. It was not a book that made me rush to read the next one in the series.
3 stars Quick and dirty. This is a silly little book about the next generation. Easy read. Can’t say I’m thrilled with Vivian or Viper. She’s reckless and foolhardy. A mafia princess brat. Matteo decided when she was underage that’s she’d be his. And he barely waited until she was eighteen. Some drama. Lots of killing of bad guys. Some betrayals.

I loved the series but Matteo was not up to C.M. STEELE standards, in my opinion. It was disjointed and left a lot of story hanging. If it were me I would have left this one out. The first three were great stories but if we were going for next generation this one left a lot to be desired. Ended series on a dud.
Loved it! Vivian is just as wild and crazy as she was at five years old. They both fell in love so young. Matteo was a good man, waiting for Vivian - his viper, to come of age. In the meantime, so much miscommunication. But when they come together? Everything becomes crystal clear very quickly. Very steamy. This is a perfect match!
A good little twist with the crazy woman. Not cool Santo's you are such and got what you deserved I'm glad Matteo figured things out, one thing though I thought he glossed over what he found. Still a good book. Who is next Gio?
I had absolutely no idea what was going on in this book! We went from scene to scene without any indication, it was like watching snippets of different conversations all at the same time.
I did not enjoy this book. I usually love this author but this book just fell flat. It just jumped around with out letting you know. If she loved him why didn’t she want to marry him? She wasn’t a baddie she was a brat.
Matteo has had his sights set on his little viper, Vivian for a while now. She seems to fight him every step of the way and do things to put herself in danger constantly. Will Matteo convince his little viper that he loves her and wants her forever?
So ya apparently, being obsessed is a genetic thing!! Matteo has his hand full with Vivian, but he loves every minute of it!! She is an alpha all on her own, so she needed one to balance her out.
Matteo the same little boy I read about in Dario’s book. I couldn’t wait to read about his HEA. Specially with his love interest Vivian, Enrico’s daughter. This book was amazing. And full of bloodshed..;
She was his, his "Viper". I loved reading the 5th book in the Conti Crime Family series. I loved the characters, plot and storyline. I loved the twists. Read it
Sometime while growing up together Matteo's feelings for Vivian shifted from sisterly to.obsession but she seems to have no clue until her 18th birthday when all that changes and Matteo shows he will do anything for her in this dirty tale.
What a great addition to this series. It was good from beginning to end. I did wish it was longer to read. Matteo is the new Don and Vivian is his for him to love.
