When you’re a fae born in the shifter realm, the last thing you expect is to discover your mate is fae, sent from the fae realm just for you.

Connor Romano loves his family. Born to a vampire father and a fae mother, he’s spent his entire life witnessing firsthand the level his father would go to protect his mother, him, and their fae sister. Because of this, the last thing he wants is a fae mate of his own. The fates have other plans though.

Milo Thomas just wishes to feel wanted. Orphaned at birth and raised by his grandparents, he’s reminded frequently that he is the cause of his parents’ deaths. Milo endures and hopes that one day, he can find a way to escape the prison that he’s been subjected to for the past eighteen years.

Connor isn’t sure he’s the right mate for Milo, but the defeat in his mate’s eyes draws him unlike anything else. How could someone so young be beaten down by life already? Can he change that? Will they be able to make a life together like his parents did? Will Milo finally open up and let Connor in?

Connor is the fifth book in the Destined Paranormals series. It is a 40,000-word novella that focuses on fated mates and how they figure out those first few weeks together. This is in an mpreg world, and there will be a baby or possibly two, but this story does not focus on or cover the pregnancy.

Sweet and simple. I like how vulnerable Milo was, it gave a lot of emotions to the story.

meh

So gotta admit overall this book fell short for me. I didn’t mind Milo so much, he seemed super sweet. Connor was another matter, he was even warned Milo was very insecure and within the first few mins he made him seem like an inconvenience, told him he didn’t want a mate, then told him especially a fae mate, and then told him they had to mate. So now Milo is aware Connor doesn’t even have the choice of mating him or not and feels even worse. Plus does Connor not listen to a word Milo said, Milo told him he never went to school and then seemed surprised at the restaurant when he “found out.”

There was also too much repetitive thoughts and conversations had in the book. But my biggest issue was how quickly they jumped to the ending. Just met then bam a baby…um, what?
We also learned nothing about Connor’s birth parents which I found surprising with how much they were brought up.

No desire to read any others in the series.

Connor by Taylor Rylan is the 5th book in her Destined Paranormals series. I recommend that you read her other paranormal series first to understand the characters, what they do, and how her created world works. The fates, Thomas and Canyon, have been finding mates for paranormals from the fae world. Connor is fae and works as a park ranger near Honey Creek and Treasure Ridge so he can be close to his family who live nearby. His father is a vampire and his mother is fae and he has seen how protective he is of her and their fae children, often moving and doing all he can to make sure they are safe. He doesn’t think he wants that for his life and has said he doesn’t want a fae mate because of this. Milo was brought up in the fae realm where he had been mentally abused by his grandparents who raised him after his fathers died when he was born. They blamed him for their deaths and didn’t allow him to go to school or to be near others often and made him work hard at home. He didn’t know how to read or do math and had not developed any magical skills so when he was kicked out of his home on his 18th birthday he didn’t know what he was going to do to survive. Luckily the fates found him and took him to their home where they gave him what he needed and sent him to meet his mate, Connor. When Connor first saw him he wasn’t exactly welcoming but then he realized that he was blessed by having a mate and did all he could to convince Milo that he wanted him. The rest of the story tells how Milo learns about new things, meets Connor’s family who are very helpful and loving, and leads up to their claiming during Milo’s heat which leads to a great epilogue where they declare their love for each other and the reap the results of their hot love scenes. I enjoyed this book as I have the others in all of Ms. Rylan’s paranormal series. She creates such a different world with many kinds of paranormals living together and forming great bonds. Connor knew what his life had been like with a vampire father and he didn’t want that for his mate and family. But when he met Milo all that changed because he knew they were fated to be together and would be perfect for each other. Milo had always felt unwanted and it was a blow when he thought Connor didn’t want him, but he came to see that they would be wonderful together and have the life he always wanted. I also enjoyed the scenes where Milo was doing things for the first time and his joy and enchantment with many of them. Since this is a shorter story there was about 4 months left out of what happened between them from their claiming until the epilogue but I felt the story was good as it was. I highly recommend it, especially if you like hurt/comfort stories about paranormal beings who are fated mates.

This one was just ok. I honestly didn't know what to expect from Connor since we really only got a brief introduction to him in a previous book. He was also kind of mean about the whole mate thing, which seemed unnecessary, but overall he wasn't terrible after he got his head out of his ass. Milo's age bothered me for some reason; I usually don't have issues with age gap stuff, but up until now I believe the youngest characters were the fox twins and even they were in their early 20s. It might have been the fact that, even at 18, he was completely innocent. Didn't know how to read, write, magic, nothing. That may have added another element to making him seem younger than he was, and despite him being legal, it just irked me a bit. The author said in the blurb that this book wouldn't focus on the pregnancy, and they were right, they skipped right over it and the rest of their relationship. When the book is so tied to the pregnancy aspect, you miss a lot of the other things that would stand out without it there. Basically we see their first two weeks and then it's 4 months later, Milo has been cured by the Goddess to fast track his reading skills, and he literally gives birth in the next chapter. We don't get anything else, which was a bit disappointing. Overall this was alright, but I think I'm glad there are no more of these for me to read for awhile.

Connor (brother to beloved vampires Matteo and Garic) is a fae who was born in the shifter realm to a fae mother and vampire father. He is determined he does not want a mate, and if he has a mate he absolutely does not want a fae one. He had a front row seat to his father constantly looking over his shoulder to protect his mother and himself and he doesn’t want that same responsibility.

Milo is a fae born in the fae realm and raised by emotionally abusive grandparents. Thankfully, on the morning of his eighteenth birthday the fates arrive at his house to collect him and whisk him away to meet his mate.

As one might guess, their initial meeting does not go as well as it could and Connor finds himself at a loss as to how to proceed with Milo. It takes a little time, and a conversation between Connor and Edison and Connor and his father to help him see he’s approached things with the wrong attitude and he makes a bigger effort.

Everytime Milo opens up about his upbringing I wanted to cry and I’m happy he found himself a mate to love him unconditionally and help repair some of the emotional damage that was done by his grandparents. Another strong and enjoyable story by Taylor Rylan.

Connor, a fae born in the shifter realm to a fae mother and vampire father, is determined not to have a mate, especially not a fae one, due to witnessing his father's constant vigilance in protecting their family. On the other hand, Milo, a fae raised by emotionally abusive grandparents in the fae realm, discovers on his eighteenth birthday that he has a mate and is whisked away by the fates to meet him.

Their initial meeting is rocky, with Connor struggling to navigate the situation. However, with guidance from friends and family, he realizes he needs to change his attitude. As Milo opens up about his difficult upbringing, Connor makes a sincere effort to support and love him unconditionally. The story explores healing from emotional wounds and the power of unconditional love, offering another compelling narrative by Taylor Rylan.

So lovely to see Milo get his HEA

I fell in love with Milo. He was such a sweetie and I hated that he’d been through so much. I just wanted to bundle him up and protect him so knowing that he’d get his HEA made seeing him open up really heartwarming. I liked that we got competing views with a Connor and a Milo on being fae. So often there is just an assumption that because someone is of a certain race they suddenly have the same experiences/culture/background as other people of the same race despite the fact that race (or I guess in this case, species) doesn’t guarantee the culture you’re raised on or the way you’ll experience the world. It was great to see Connor learning and seeing things from different perspectives but also really interesting to see how he’d interpreted things or understood them. It gave the story a deeper feeling to it which I really enjoyed.

Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟
Hot: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
É uma leitura F(. . .), desculpe pela palavra, eu amei 🖤. . .
Amei! . . Boa Leitura 😘

Connor does not feel he is ready for a mate and especially not a fae one so when he initially meets Milo he does not make the right decision and all he can think about is the sadness and rejection in his adorable mate's eyes at his reaction. Connor does get advice from others, and he reaches out to convince Milo that he does really want him. As it turns out Conner really was meant to be a nurturing and loving mate. Milo is just the sweetest and most innocent fae and I was happy every time someone or something made him happy. He really did deserve all the love and comfort in the world. My heart was so happy for Milo finding love, acceptance and family he belonged with after everything we learn he had been through.

This book is a great addition to the series. Connor is fae and works as a park ranger. When over at his parents, he is hesitant about having a mate. Milo, is in the far realm, and just turned 18. He lives with his grandparents as both his dads passed away. He was being mentally abused by his grandparents as they blamed him for his father’s passing. When told to leave their house, he runs into Thomas and Canyon and was brought to the human realm to meet his mate. The story started from there with Connor and Milo leaning about each other and falling in love.

Connor might not think he wants a fae mate but that is exactly what he gets. Thankfully, Milo's bad upbringing and the mate pull kick start his protective instincts. While Connor works to release the weight on his shoulders, Milo is overcoming his lack of education in several areas. With help from Connor's parents, Master Edison and their goddess, the new mates are settled and about to be parents.
This is a cute little love story and a beautiful addition to the Destined Paranormal Series!

This was such a heartwarming story. I loved reading Connor and Milo’s story. They had a rough start but they worked it out quick. It’s a shorter story after all. I loved sweet Milo, I just wanted to wrap him in a hug. He had a heartbreaking start so it was very heart warming to see him meet Connor and get his HEA.

Connor is the fifth book in the Destined Paranormal series. I think this one may have been the best one in the series to date. Connor isn’t sure he wants a mate but he quickly changes his mind when he’s told that he is coming soon. Milo has had a horrible upbringing. His grandparents blamed him for his omega father’s death and tell him that every chance they get. This story actually brought tears to my eyes a few times. Overall a fast paced and engaging story.

great read

Oh milo pulled at my heartstrings from the very start, I wanted to hug him. That’s what I love about Taylor’s writing you feel like the characters are real. Connor and milo were a great duo once they got past a few little misunderstandings. I’m really enjoying these destined paranormal short books. Although honestly I love everything Taylor writes.

A massive timeskip in the book with big plot holes that make for a hard to read book. Instant fixes for problems that would have been nice to read about instead. It's just not a well written book. It feels a lot like the authors earlier works that were also riddled with lots of holes and repetitive dialog.

3.5 stars. Okay, that kind of pissed me off. The book was too short. We go from their claiming, to the end of his heat to the goddess visiting all within a couple of pages. The next page jumps to Milo at the very end of his pregnancy. I wanted that in between. We get that with everyone else, why not Connor and Milo? Grrrr 👿

This is a paranormal romance set in Taylor Rylan’s omegaverse world and the fifth book in a series about the side characters from the other interconnected series. I have been curious about Connor and now reading from his pov was fascinating! He almost messed things up though! A great read!

I loved this. It was so sad to read about how abusive Milo's grandparents were to him all of his short 18 years, but it was lovely that Connor was so supportive of him.

I know they're all novellas, but I really would have loved it if this couple had a full-length book.

Another wonderful read--loved Milo and Connor was good after he met his mate. Sweet, low angst. Storyline was good--Thought it was interesting how Milo's case showed a need for more oversight in the fae realm. Recommend reading.

Connor and Milo are both fae but there their similarities end. Their backgrounds are completely opposite and it can be heartbreaking at times. But Connor and Milo get to find their own happiness with each other and their story is a beautiful HEA.

This is a sweet book, I loved how frazzled Connor got when he knew his mate was coming. I really felt for Milo with how he was treated by his grandparents. They are both fae but from different worlds. It was sweet how Connor looked after Milo.
