MX Hub
Everything had changed for Zander Greaves over the last few weeks. He’d gone from being a private military contractor with his squad in the Middle East to being isekai-ed into a different multiverse.
He lost his friends and his lover, Selda, in the same hour of his arrival, sparking in him the mission to kill every single Entoma he could to repay them for his loss. Luckily, an alien named Crish arrived to help Zander adjust to his new reality.
His first few days were a chaotic mess as he tried to adapt, but it was his first day on board the ship Fractured Dreams that Zander discovered what his new life would be. He was one of the lucky a person whose body accepted an AI of Antecedent technology. His AI, however, was special, taking on the memories and persona of his former lover, Selda Engel.
With Crish’s and AI Selda’s help, Zander came up with a mad plan to displace the pilot leader, Shivatin the Rakshasa, and take over that position. He had experience staying alive as a mercenary, and used that to forge the fractured crew into a new, cohesive whole.
As he was finally taking on the mantle of leader, Shivatin led a mutiny to take the ship from the captain and to kill Zander. The Rakshasa had no clue what he’d unleashed in doing so; Zander led his new team in a repelling action, killing the invading boarders, then pushing on to the bridge to take out Shivatin.
Veldiami, the captain of Fractured Dreams, took it one step further, boarding the other ship that helped in the mutiny to claim as salvage. It only took killing four— including the ship’s captain— to secure it as loot.
Left on the other ship, the Righteous, to guide it to the nearest galactic hub, Zander made a deal with the remaining crew. They used the FTL drive to reach the hub that day, meaning Zander would find himself alone on MX Hub for two days before Fractured Dreams and her crew arrived.
What trouble could a Human— completely out of his depth in a new universe and on an alien space station— get into before his crewmates arrived?

I want more
Another great story from Daniel Schinhofen. I love his stuff.
I enjoy seeing the main character's competence and how much fun he is having. For anyone new to the series, be aware the main character is an outrageous flirt who working on adding to his harem, so there is a LOT of suggestive or explicit content.
My only complaint is I personally want more world-building. As in more incidental knowledge of the world at large and how the main character is affecting the existing power structures. The government is vague enough that I am unsure if this sci-fi world is more of a unified utopia a la Star Trek or a collection of independent worlds. Are corporations and the criminal underworld true power brokers or a smaller force in a universe at war? I hope for more answers in the next installment

Back to the usual story
The males are all crap and the hero will have a large haram. Lots of talk with his wives and the story will move forward at a slow pace. The first book was different then turned to be the same as all his other books.

The main theme of this Sci-Fi Alternate reality Multiverse book series should have been getting revenge and ending the worms/insects (The Entoma) because they were responsible for the death of main character's, Zander (Codename: Badger) mercenary soldier team. But it got massively side-tracked and has become a virtual reality war-game-training-top-gun-like competition between Mecha (Giant Mechanical Robots) competition, team-building and training.
So, what happened to the main theme?? Aren't they supposed to be close to the Multiversal War?? In the frontier war-zone??
The other thing is, that Zander, focuses all of his free-time in seducing every alien beast-spirit-folk around him, so it's a story about the sexual adventures of a "Terran" (from Earth) in this Alternate Reality Multiverse, instead of a War-Sci-Fi-combat story. Does the author really think that Zander being the only rooster in this alien-spaceship-hen-house is enough for a Sci-Fi story series??? Wasn't the war imminent and aren't they all in the frontier of the war-zone? Is that what real soldiers do in a war?? (Sex and video games??)
Too many VRRPG's and mock war-games, too many sexual innuendos and sensual liaisons of the main character and his mostly alien female crew and team and too little real combat with real enemies in this Sci-Fi-Isekai (teleported to a multiversal war with the Entoma turned into a harem sexual adventure and VR war-game story series).

Another excellent series
I love all of schinhofen's series, but this is rapidly moving up in my favorites list. I think aether reborn and binding words still hold the top spots for his series, but every new book in this series appeals to the mechwarrior nerd in me.
As the second in the series, it continues zanders adventures at a hub station and all that entails. He finds another love interest in a vampire to go with his previous dryad lover. I mention them both because it is a harem story if that matters to you, but as always, done in a tasteful and believable manner. Every series has lots of interesting and believable characters, but its the main characters and their love interest that matter the most in these type of stories.
I would thoroughly recommend this and any of his other series, even if you're not a big harem fan because they're all excellent fantasy and sci-fi of different types.

Outstanding Story
Great world building, characters who grow and an author who is consistent in their own rules. I love when authors are able to write and tell a compelling story without having to use deux machina to get out of something. Daniel Schinhofen is one of those talented authors.
He is able to provide a compelling story without the MC being overpowered, he is just a guy trying to get through stuff. Yes, it's weird and strange and cool but still it's a guy. He isn't a super hero, just a guy with good common sense, good reflexes and has seen some fecal matter hitting the fan.
So yes, I look forward to seeing where this leads. Eagerly even...but with patience and will happily fork over the cash for pre-order as soon as book 3 is available.
Yes, it's that good.

Only disappointment was the book felt shorter than his other books
Another really great book from Daniel Shinhofen, the only complaint I had was it normally takes me longer to read his books, not sure if it is my fault for reading faster. Good action, even if it was mostly virtual, I usually find tournament storyline’s enjoyable if not dragged out with seemingly endless blow by blow scenes (not a problem here), and a whole lot of humerus flirting and sexual innuendo. A few sex scenes are incorporated in the story, and some are just hinted at meaning its not just one of those men’s fantasy where its more about the sex than the story. Another 5 star effort from one of my favourite authors.

Well written, improved from first book
The second book started off by almost immediately touching upon some of the issues I had with the first book, mainly the MC acknowledging the ridiculousness of not seeming to be freaking out about his situation, and a little bit of snark and sarcasm about the harem building aspect. The author also made an attempt at reasoning away the truly awful tactics and strategy of the alt universe in its wars against the bugs.
A well written and fast paced story, which struck a better balance between the harem building and story driven plot than the first book.

Awesome
I put this series off for a while because even though I love Daniel's books, I'm not really into Sci fi harem. I should have known better. You would think by this point I wouldn't doubt that I'd love whatever Daniel puts out.
Anyway, the story has been amazing. The MC is great without being overpowered. Although I'm looking forward to the things that were hinted at by his AI. The women are all awesome, and each has distinct personalities and purpose in the story. As always, I'm looking forward to the next book.

god I love this series
One of my fav authors with a fantastic book 2. You get the superb writing with realistic emotions. Love the story and the different cultures. So many times different races have human cultures with a twist. Here they really feel non-human. Makes you work as a reader to twist your head around it. Then the story feels richer and you feel more involved, more vested. I’m liking the less sappy emotions that some of his other series have, it fits with the diehard action early nineties feel.

Schinhofen has never disappointed before... and he still hasn't!
Typical Schinhofen skill in writing: great characters, unusual settings & interesting foes. This story is Sci-Fi based. The enemies are bugs (yeah, Heilein!). The characters come from our mythologies. The MC is a human from our universe. We've yet to find out what humans (Terrans in this universe) are like here because they have just been discovered. It was a great book!
If you like sci-fi and romance in different flavors, here is your book. It is well written and has many compelling characters. I like the camaraderie that Zander has with his friends and people who don't antagonize him. And the ferociousness that he has two people who don't like him. If I would have one complaint it is that the romances are all him and other females, which is great, but I do hope for Zander, his females, and some other dude. That's probably not going to happen, but is a nice dream.

I love how the world building incorporates so much existing lore of different creatures and uses. This gets completely ruined by the MC’s increasingly unlikable drive to mate, comment about mating, and every other word he says to be about his “prowess.”
Harem themes are fine and the first book does this well enough but the first 3/4 of this book is nothing but lewd jokes, terrible innuendos, and non stop lewd batter.
You don’t actually get to any real story until the last quarter of the book and that is still mostly just a giant D measuring contest.

Just getting started
Okay, so I love Daniel's writing, but this series has me hooked. Sci-fi hotties, spaceships/ hubs, AND Mechs? Yes, please! While it could be said that the MC is a bad-ass, he isn't overpowered. While it does seem like he can grab the attention of most alien babes, he is fine being friends with many of them. Once again, another banger of a series from Mr. Schinhofen. Can't wait to read the next book.

Antecedent's Legacy is a fun mech series. A genre of books I do not normally read. We have a PMC warped to far reaches of space against an invasive enemy. Puts me in mind of replicators from Stargate only much larger and fleshier. MX Hub brings Zander into contact (and conflict) with other ship's pilots as he is getting more settled into his new life with an AI in his head. Throw in a tournament arc and what more could you want?

Remarkable
I love a good hard sci-fi story. This series is a perfect scratch for that itch. the MC is super relatable, and his circumstances just keep escalating. But his response to everything and everyone is so on point that you're in his corner the entire way through the journey. So far no serious obstacles have challenged him and the squad, but things are moving in the background that could lead to larger plot developments. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Action is fade to black...
I was giving Schinhofen another chance and I regret it. The action scenes are fade to black while romantic dinners and romance and shopping are most of the pages. It's a waste of time. It's a book about a mech pilot with little mech action and weird sex dynamics that don't make a lot of sense. This is a slice of life book, maybe by book 4 the MC will fight the enemy, after 30 or so dinners/ romps/ tea parties.

Having practiced teamwork add mobile tactics and becoming a cohesive, the team competes against others in tournament, and therein lies all the action, drama, and more than a few laugh out loud moments as the pilots of Fractured Dreams show the limitations of previous tactics. Excellent editing. Diving into book 3 next. Destroy the bugs and worms! Fun and absorbing read.

I want to say so worth the wait but I do not want to wait long for the next one. Mc is awesome, like him even more in this one than the first one. Hope he can get over his furry hang up, best thing about these stories is no discrimination. Keep it coming i will keep on reading them!

Love this authors work
I have read every book that I have found from this author and have never been disappointed. Daniel Schinhofen is good with different types of fantasy and science fiction. Characters are real and easy to relate with. I have consistently found enjoyment with each of his titles.

Good but....
So I loved the book I really did, but it also had points that made me want to get out the pitch forks and torches........

Entertaining
MX Hub was a good follow up to book one. The author does a good job of setting up the story and gives the supporting characters adequate time to interact with the main character. There’s a harem element and overly descriptive sex, which both are a distraction, but the actual story is good enough to offset. Good fun.

This series is getting better and better
Having a human mercenary suddenly appear in the middle of a battle with giant worms is astonishing to the beings battling the worms. They fight in huge mechanical robots, standing and firing at the worms. They soon learn that moving whilst fighting is the way to survive.

Awesome
Just when I thought the story couldn’t get any better. The story continues to progress. What’s not to love about a super powerful AI, a mercenary in the world not used to good tactical fighting. The story was well written, very engaging, and one loves the main character and supporting cast. Reading the next book.

Another great series, you've produced. Looking guard to the test. Normally I'm not a big sci-fi fan but this has a great mix of humour and development to keep you entertained.

This series is fantastic. Zander is the perfect mix of ruthless and cunning and the fact he has everything wrapped around Zelda’s and his fingers only make it better. Can’t wait for them to finally kill some bugs.

a sequel to be remembered
Book 2 was better than the first! We get more world building, more fights, more expansion of tech as Zander reached the hub and makes wakes on introducing new technologies and getting paid for it. Book 3 looks like it will be even more fun

Great second book. MC Is a little cocky.But where is it well.
Great second book. Characters have grown and continued to develop.MC Is A descent amount of depth. Pacing and atmosphere is fun. World building is pretty solid. All I really enjoyed it.
