Clayton Carter, after attending the marriage of a girlfriend who got away, decides to visit Pigeon Ford, the Texas town, where his grandparents once ran the Flying A Ranch. It's not long before Clayton is involved with, Jade Holahan, a young widow and the editor of the Pigeon Forum, the town's newspaper. An article in the paper about a recent rape trial that ended in a directed verdict intrigues Clayton and soon he's investigating the alleged rapist and his brother who may have "disappeared" a witness. During his investigation he discovers that the brothers might also have been involved with death of Jade's husband. Trying to bring the guilty to justice turns out to be complicated and dangerous business.

Super addition to Benenson's series!

Sexiest story yet by Mr Benenson, great character development, and marvelously implausible story! Credible description of his small Texas town, excellent building of tension, and laughingly simplified resolution!
