Kindergarten Countdown: A Book for Kindergarteners

Rate this book
"MY SCHOOL STARTS in one week so—I have SEVEN DAYS to go. Mom says be patient, do not worry. But I can't wait! I'm in a hurry!"In this delightful book a little girl counts off the days by naming what she'll do in kindergarten. "I'll be ready, I'll be smart. I will get a running start. I'll say thank you, I'll say please. I will say my ABCs!" And deciding what to wear and what to take are all part of her preparation for that exciting first day. With bouncy read-aloud rhyme, bright, fun illustrations, and hidden objects to find on each page, Kindergarten Countdown gets children off on the right foot.

Counting
A young girl starts her countdown to her first day of kindergarten. With one week until her first day she does something to prepare for the first day. Each page also has a catchy rhyme to it with colorful picture that do well showing what she is describing. This would be a good book for parents to use while preparing their child for their first day of kindergarten. Teachers might also be able to use it on the first day to get their students excited to learn and see what kindergarten will be all about.

Yes it is time to start reading the kindergarten books and this one was enjoyable. Combining concepts of counting and days of the week, the book shows Lucy preparing for her big day by packing her backpack and counting sheep on school eve.

This could be used in a preschool story time right before the school year starts....for those kids heading into Kindergarten. Definitely an interactive story, allowing you to ask the kids questions, sing ABCs, count, and share a show and tell.

Cute book for kids getting ready to start kindergarten

It has the elements that children love....rhyme, animals, and a countdown to a special day... the first day of kindergarten. Great for those children with some anxiety for the start of school.

It was a cute book but I think the pictures could have been better. Also it didn't keep my kids occupied with the book and they got bore of it quickly.

Kindergarten Countdown is an adorable rhyming book about a girl who is counting down the days until starts Kindergarten. Again, I am thankful the author depicts the future Kindergarten student eager about her first day of school.

This is a wonderful book that represents a few math skills including counting, calendar, and days of the week. The rhymes make the book move along at a good pace. I would recommend this book, and use this book while teaching these concepts.
