Jaehwan has demonstrated both his power and shrewdness for all to see, but the tournament is not over yet! This time, it’s his character that will be put to the test to determine whether he is fit to lead the Abyss Expedition. However, it’s immediately obvious that he is being set up to fail with an age-old dilemma―sacrifice the few to save the many, or risk losing everything to save the few? Either choice is guaranteed to make him look bad, and Jaehwan for once finds himself facing an obstacle he cannot simply blast through…or can he?
this volume started out a bit confusing, so for the good part of a fe chapters I was just that confused cat meme going ‘huh?’ 😂
what I did love a lot was how jaehwan always seems to find an answer that’s so out of the box and not one of the available options - it’s so much fun to see what he’s going to do next!!
the invasion of the fiends went by so fast that I barely blinked and it was over?? kinda felt like I was missing some chapters there. weird…
but the way jaehwan gave everyone hope again ahhhhh!!! I get that this is already getting repetitive, but I’m a sucker for these things and this boy just keeps on giving 🙏🙏
slash grandpa is also hiding some deep secrets, but I hope that whatever happens in the end, he stays at jeahwan’s side and gets his final taste of freedom. that would be a truly beautiful end to his journey 🙏
4 stars ⭐️ this time for too much confusion, but this is still a great story and I’m looking forward to the next volume!

So the tournament to decide the true castle lord of Gorgon / assembling the abyss expedition team is running smoothly until Jaehwan gets bored and changes the rules to 6-vs-1, which gets interrupted again when the fiends show up to nearly decimate the town, and later (when Jaehwan is training his new teammates in his own nightmare tower) they're still arguing about who is going to lead the abyss expedition.
Not to mention, there's also a secret organization running around causing potential trouble.
It was at this volume that I reckoned he needed a change in companions. Possibly scenery. I do not care for chaos and its environs. 🧐 and tbh, I just want to see his getting powerful sequence. I hate how it's happening off page all the time. I also hate that I genuinely can not gauge how powerful he is and that even when he is, I don't feel it. Same as the other characters about and all this is down to power levelling is happening off page! It is so irritating. 😪
I liked the first volume (started quick, was scrambling to get my bearings but LOVED the world) The second and third volume made me immediately search for the next few. Now, in vol. 5 I'm so invested and loving the series!
Basically a man becomes powerful as heck, accidentally finds a new world, and then we see how his power and those around him interact and how the world is building.
This story is getting more and more intense and intricate as time goes on. Jaehwan is so OP and I’m here for it. I can’t wait to see how he manages the other sect leaders.
That's awesome that they were all helping each other advance! 3 new skills....does that mean the 7th adapted Thunder-God is now 10th adapted?! Rupture?!
