" The First Adventure" is a collection of the first three books in the "Emi" series. After a curious exploration into a previously unseen attic, ten year old Emi finds herself lost in the strange magical world of Roa. Alone at first, Emi is quickly rescued by the teddybear she had at first thought to be gone upon entering the world. With Teddy now alive and big enough to protect her from all sorts of threats, Emi ventures out into Roa to search for a way home to her father. Throughout her journey Emi begins to find clues leading her to believe that her father may also be lost somewhere in Roa. This theory is backed by Queen Vita who informs Emi that her father was a traveller to their world and has been for quite a while. The queen sets Emi off on a journey to find her father which, over the course of "Emi", " Foreign Lands", "13", and " Mortality", will see her pair up with several allies and make her way across the world fighting monsters, acquiring powerful new spells and abilities, and finding out secrets about her family that she never would have dreamed of.
