Rate this book
There's loyalty... and then there's love. Which will triumph when the chips are down?Jane has always been shy and quiet, but she’s gaining confidence in her abilities as a dressmaker, and she’s ready to take on new challenges. She’d love nothing more than to have a husband and children to complete the picture, so when she’s dared to place an ad in the paper, she does it… much to everyone’s surprise.

Bookkeeper Mark doesn’t really want a wife. He’s been burnt before, but he thinks he should have a family, so when he sees Jane’s ad, he begins writing. But he’s shy too, and when she comes to New York to purchase dressmaking fabric, he sends his twin brother, Peter, to meet her in his stead.

As soon as Peter and Jane meet, the stars collide and their whole story changes. They fall for each other immediately… The only problem is, Jane believes that Peter is Mark, and when their relationship is confined to letters again, she can’t understand why he seems so different on paper. She doesn’t love the Mark who writes to her… She loves the Mark who talks to her.

Peter is stuck… He can’t betray his brother, but can he really betray his heart when it’s so clearly telling him that Jane is his love?

The deception can’t go on forever, but how can Peter tell Jane who he really is? Doing so could lose him both of them…

Eagle Creek is never without a new tale of love and heartache, and this one will have you gripped immediately. Lose yourself in a story thick with deception and longing, and hold your breath as you wait to see if love truly can find its way to the surface.

This series is one of my very favorite, and when a new one comes out I am thrilled to have it to read! This is the story of Jane, a resident of Eagle Creek, and Mark and Peter, from New York. Mark and Peter are twins. Peter is very outgoing and has a shipping business. Mark is an accountant, very shy, and loves to be left alone. But Mark thinks he should have a wife, someone to "be there", cook and clean for him, and take care of him. Yes, he is very egocentric! Jane loves her life in Eagle Creek, but yearns for the relationships her friends have. She feels that she is too plain for any man to look at as a romantic partner. But she does respond to Mark's ad in the matrimonial times. Mark writes to her and she responds. But when it comes to meeting in person, he convinces Peter to meet her, pretending to be Mark. A lie is never a good place to start a relationship. This is such an excellent read, I loved everything about it. Can hardly wait for the next one! I received an advanced reading copy of this book in return for my honest review.

The story starts off in 1884, in Texas. Jane Brown, an orphan turns 16 and works as a housekeeper when she leaves. Cook becomes her close friend and so does Marianne, the lady of the house. When Marianne gets married and moves to Eagle Creek, Montana, Jane moves to be with her. Once Jane is settled in, she takes a job working as a dressmaker for Mrs. Albert and then moves into her own small house. Jane thinks she is doing well by herself but gets talked into answering an ad for a wife in the newspaper.

There were some funny moments, some intense surprises, and a sweet ending. Great characters, a surprising deception, forgiveness, and a sweet romance. This is my favorite book from Karla Gracey and highly recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and a positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.

This is another of the Eagle Creek books although it is a good story it was harder for me to get into Jane's story. The twin brothers that change places wasn't as fun in adulthood as I am sure was fun for them as children cause a lot of hurt. Mark starts the letter writing but is a very one dimensional person and when Jane meets Mark (Peter) he is totally different. Peter is surprised how much he likes this young woman especially since he made a vow after being left at the altar that he would never love again. Surprises in store for the both of them. They also live on opposite sides of the country which is also a problem. When the truth is revealed Jane is hurt, disappointed, and decides she would rather be alone. Lots of grand gestures make the difference for the couple that find their way to love. I received an ARC for this story and this is my review.

Inspiring

I really enjoyed these stories. They are clean, thoughtful, challenging, and always have a great ending. There are quite a few moments when you can learn something, by asking yourself "what would i have done here?!" I love Cable Poole, Wilbur, Cook, and Peter. They are outstanding individuals who care for others as well as their own lives and prospects. I always admire those that do what can be done to improve other people's lives. This book has that too. Inspiring.
All of that in a really satisfying read.
Would like to read the whole series if it's like the last two books have read recently.

What a wonderful addition to the Eagle Creek series. Jane has been introduced to us in the previous books but now she gets a book of her own. Who knew that placing an ad in the Matrimonial Times would shake up her quiet little world so much? The author does an excellent job of introducing the characters as well as their thought processes and emotions. She spins a story with so many twists and turns that it's impossible to stop at the end of the chapter! I received an advance copy of this book but I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Mail Order Deception is Enchanting

Sweet seamstress Jane Brown longs for a family, a husband and children of her own. Following a suggestion from her friend Marianne, she places a matrimony ad in newspapers. What happens is a true testimony to the Shakespeare quote " The course of true love never did run smooth. The characters are delightful, the plot is intriguing, and you will not regret the time spent in reading this book!!! Looking forward to the rest of the books in this series!

I received this book at no charge from the publisher in exchange for an advanced read through. This book was so well written. The storyline flowed so well. I love when side characters from previous books in a series get their own HEA storyline and the author did not disappoint. This book had so many twists and turns and side stories I wondered how it wound end right till the very sweet end. Such a great book you will want to add it to your collection!

Mail order deception from Karla Gracey is a well-written clean mail order bride romance based on Christian principles. The book is part of the Eagle creek brides series. The story is well-crafted and reads enjoyably. The characters are true to life and you get to know them well. What I like about the series is that you keep running into people from previous volumes. Which gives you a hime coming feeling. I fell in love with this series

Stories with twins always are among my favorites since I have twin nephews and great grandsons. I’m quite familiar with the tricks they can play. Mark and Peter don’t enter the deception with bad intentions, they are just so opposite in personalities they almost make a whole between themselves. Just like Peter, we know that nothing good will come from the deception or did it? I really l loved this story and how the characters grow and mature.

Enjoyable read

The character of Mark comes across as being borderline autistic. Either that or he is a very self-centered individual. Personally I'm not sure about the idea of falling in love when you meet someone. I suppose it happens but I find it hard to believe. Apart from that this was a clean read and fairly enjoyable, despite some strange curve balls along the way. But overall, not bad. Enjoy!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the return to Eagle Creek. Jane and Peter brought out the best in each other. Mark was too set in his ways and thinking to be the kind of spouse that Jane needed. It was exciting to find out how Peter was able to repair the misunderstandings caused by his brother, especially with the twists and turns that occurred along the way.

Another great book in the Eagle Creek series. Karla Gracely does another fabulous job bringing the people of Eagle Creek alive. You can always count on her for a well-written story, wonderful characters, and an exciting plot. There is always a bit of suspense, romance, and a look back at other characters, and she leaves you wanting to hear more about this town.

Awesome read, not you average mail order bride book

I very much enjoyed this book. It grabbed me from the beginning and kept my interest all the way through. I loved that it was not a run of the mill book. Lots of twists and turns in relationships. I may even read it again sometime. Thanks for the good read.

Best Book Yet in the Series

Loved the entire book, but Peter and his problems with his ship added a new layer of intrigue. Would have loved to hear more about the other villain Marsten though and punishment. I felt like giving Mark some slap therapy! Very good read.
