Alex’s parents divorced when he was very young, thrusting him into a world not of his own choosing. A world full of loss, betrayal, blame, two homes, and a half sister. Lily loves her brother and looks forward to his visits. To Alex, she is the chasm between a life he can barely remember, and the reality he refuses to acknowledge. In place of his broken family, he surrounds himself with books of far-off worlds, and heroic adventures. But this crafted façade threatens to crumble when their dog runs away, and he and Lily must find him, together. Their search leads them to an ancient neighborhood house, crumbling, abandoned, perhaps even haunted. Inside, a terrible story awaits, one Alex’s books never imagined. The house, framed by three colossal oaks, holds a secret that will change their lives forever, if they survive. The Tree House is a contemporary fantasy full of dark secrets, set in a magical world with a unique coming-of-age story.

Enchanting tale from beginning to end with a gripping hook that keeps the reader until the last page. Wonderful and thoughtful character development, descriptive visuals, textures and analogies that left me feeling as though I was in the home and forest. Jay has a strong creative narrative, clever concept and characters we can all empathize with. Solid book and would highly recommend!
This story is beautifully written and so enchanting! The world building and attention to detail is so well-done, and the twists and turns are captivating. I can’t wait for my eleven year old son to read this ☺️
I just finished reading T. H. Jay's first novel, The TREE HOUSE, (now available on Amazon), and I can't express how thrilled and enthralled I was to see how his wonderful story captured my imagination and carried me along the journey of his characters into some wonderful and some very dark places. I can't wait to read whatever springs next from his imagination and talent. BRAVO, T.H.!
