"Tom Elliot's writing is like his hero: it never quits." - Ilona Andrews, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Kate Daniels series.

Wander through epic worlds of dungeons, dragons, and magic created by fantasy author, Tom Elliot.

Reader. Gamer. Writer. That’s me :).

I enjoy creating worlds for readers to explore, and of course, amazing magic for my characters to wield!

In June 2021, I released my debut novel, The Grand Game. It follows the adventures of Michael, an assassin with a ‘wolven’ heritage and is told from the first-person perspective. Step by step, we watch as Michael grows from a lowly level 1 noob to… well, you’ll see soon enough.

Between my day job and family, I indulge in my passion for writing, reading and gaming. I favour CRPGs and turn-based strategy games, and epic fantasy novels.

You can support my writing on: PATREON, and follow me on social media through: Goodreads, Facebook, or Twitter.

Still writing,

Tom.

The story line is great. The issue that I have is that an author should respect his readers. This book appears to have NOT been proof read. There is a character in the story who has been referred to as Margaret, Margret and Marget. The true name was Margret. There have been errors probably every 20 pages. So. good story, little reader respect.

DNF 54%

This book strings out information to create artificial tension. The plot is paper thin and nothing makes sense. Why do proles have levels? Why is the goddess subjecting the proles? Why do the players need proles to fight in their army? Why does our MC care about the slums but she only knows two people? 54% in and I don't know anything of consequence that I didn't know at the start.

3.5 stars. I found that this continuation of the novella Empyreans Flight fell short of the promise made in the former. The writing style was much different from the original Grand Game series. And you could have convinced me that this was a very early book for the writer. The plot was quite random, and many times, I found that the progression made little sense. I observed that there was a co-author, and hopefully, she will improve in subsequent novels.

Needs an editor

There were a number of typos. Also, the story was too chaotic for my taste. Let's run here looking for answers, nope, nothing here, let's run back. The main character didn't choose her fate, her fate happened to her.
Anyway, those are my complaints. I've read the main arc and have enjoyed it more than this side-story.

It was ok

This book was disappointing. I really enjoyed The Grand Game series with Michael, and hoped to enjoy this one. This book was rife with errors. Misspellings, repeated words, wrong word orders, etc. The main character is just…dumb. I hoped she would mature during the book, but she didn’t. The story didn’t feel very cohesive either.

Enjoying this world! The Grand Game has been nothing but great reading. I wasn't sure of the direction this second installment would take. But there are some unexpected moments and some real character growth and development for many of the main characters. Even still, I can't help feeling like we haven't even gotten to the good part. Excited for whats next!

Good Story, Lacking Editing

I really enjoyed the story and love the series this is spun off from, but there were a bunch of typos and grammatical error. It needs a fair bit a proofreading to really polish it up into something that would get a better rating.

I enjoyed this book's peek at this older House. I don't think we quite know what the house it, unless it is that name they used a few times. Either way, I want to see more from this Summoner and her Companion.

Pretty good novella

Pretty good novella set in the world of The Grand Game. Main character is a little whiny and emotional for my taste, but a good story nonetheless. I will read the next installment for sure.

Good

It's a good start to a series. I don't like it as much as the original Grand Game series, but that started a bit flat too. I'll definitely be following this for a few more books at least.

Good start to a series

I really like the world of Forever Kingdom. The Game is pretty cool, I like the main PC , she has some growth still. I look forward to reading next book.

Not quite as good as the main Grand Game series (yet) but I’m looking forward to see what happens next!

Start of another good series in the worlds of the grand game. I hope she meets up with wolf later.

As expected, I was not a fan of our young protagonist in this full-length release. Elana is incredibly impatient, very impulsive, and brash, and thinks that she knows all. In all the situations she was put in, she did not understand how to follow the hints of her allies and did what she wished, to the detriment of all.

As much as I enjoyed the idea of a summoner FMC, I don't think I'll continue this series due to the irritating FMC.
