Layla brings the Whiskeyverse to a close with an absolutely brilliant final send off for Aiden and Jamie which covers all the right notes and leaves the reader with a very satisfying conclusion.
I won't hide that I'm super sad that this is (for the moment anyway) the last time we'll be with Irish & Whiskey because this world of Layla's is one of my absolute favourites in the genre and while these two are only my second fave pair (Nic and Cam are top!), I have loved every single instalment of their love story.
Here we kind of get a full circle moment back to the very first book and the case which started everything off, we get to see Aiden and Jamie happily five years into their marriage and as solid as ever, and we have a wonderful collaboration from the wider Whiskeyverse as the crew come together to investigate.
Honestly, I don't think Layla could have written a better way to send this beloved pair into the rest of their lives than she did here.
There's plenty of heat, we get emotions galore, there's a painful reflective moment or two, and there's hope, so much hope for a life filled with endless love and happiness.
No spoilers but the investigation itself ticks all the right boxes for suspense and adrenalin thrills, the love between Irish & Whiskey is as palpable as ever, and the newest character to take to the stage is an utter sweetheart who I fell in love with as quick as everyone else did.
Now, Layla, I know these guys have reached the end of their road, but please, PLEASE give me Sutton and Matty K's stories soon!

It’s been just over seven years since Layla Reyne’s début romantic suspense series featuring FBI agents Aidan Talley and Jameson Walker hit the bookshelves in 2017, although both characters have made cameo appearances in some of the author’s other books, and the Whiskeyverse, as it’s become known, has expanded to include a lot of other characters who have become Aidan and Jamie’s close friends and associates over the years. Angel’s Share is billed as the fifth - and final - book in the Agents Irish and Whiskey series, and it brings readers right up to date with where the guys are in their lives and takes a look at what might be next for them.
If you haven’t read the earlier books in this series or any of the author’s other San-Francisco-set romantic suspense series, then this is absolutely NOT the place to start because there are a lot of cameos and name-checks for several of their characters - and it’s pretty much essential for the reader to be familiar with at least some of them and how they are connected to the two leads.
Note: There are spoilers for earlier books in the series in this review.
The overarching plotline of the original Irish & Whiskey trilogy saw widowed FBI agent Aidan Talley finding out who was responsible for the deaths of his husband, Gabe, and his partner, Tom, in a car crash. He didn’t know, at first, that it was murder; but his sister-in-law and boss, Mel Cruz, had received information that pointed in that direction and she asked hot-shot cyber agent, former basketball star Jameson Walker, to partner with Aidan and also to secretly work on following leads on the murder case. During the course of the trilogy, Aidan and Jamie fell in love (not without a few roadblocks, mostly because of Aidan’s unwillingness to open himself up to the possibility of pain and loss by loving again and, of course, Jamie’s ordered deception) and were eventually able to uncover the truth – that a terrorist organisation had been using Gabe’s expertise (he was an investment banker) to launder money.
Gabe’s murder was solved – but, as we learn in Angel’s Share, some loose ends were never tied up regarding the death of Aidan’s partner, Tom Crane.
While Aidan is trying to work out how on earth Angel could have got mixed up in something like this, he’s also turned inside-out by guilt. He’d promised Tom he’d look after his wife, Isabella, and their son if anything happened to him – which Aidan made sure to do, until a few years earlier when Isabella cut all ties and moved to LA. Aidan has never known why she did that, and she made it very clear that she didn’t want him to contact her again, but he still feels guilty for not pushing to find out.
Aidan is sure that Angel is trying to protect someone by refusing to talk, but the boy is stubborn and isn’t going to give up the information easily. It takes a lot of coaxing and charm on Jamie’s part to make a connection, but once it’s established, things start falling into place and the plot starts to widen out from a seemingly straightforward case of theft to something much deeper and darker, related to some unfinished business from Aidan’s past.
Angel’s Share bears all the hallmarks of a Layla Reyne book – it’s a fast-paced, intricately-plotted page-turner with plenty of action, steamy smexy-times and a strong emphasis on relationships, be they familial (found or blood), friendships or romantic ones. And at the heart of it all are Aidan and Jamie, with their unwavering trust in one another, their absolute devotion to protecting those they love and their fierce determination to get to the truth, no matter what.
The plot is complex with a lot of moving parts (you’ll need to pay attention!), but there’s a fairly good balance between it, and the quieter, more intimate moments in which Aidan and Jamie begin to talk about what lies ahead for them. They’ve both thought, in fairly vague terms, of having a family of their own some day, but those ideas have never really crystallised until now, with Aidan – now approaching fifty – realising that having kids and being a dad is something he wants. There’s a lot of fun and banter and some nice moments of connection and reconnection between key characters – as well as some hints about who might be taking the starring roles in the future spin-offs the author has said she’ll be focusing on soon.
With plenty of thrills and spills, twists and turns, Angel’s Share is a quick, rollercoaster ride of a read that comes full circle for Aidan and Jamie and sends these two beloved characters off into the sunset in a most satisfying way.

This is the series that started it all for Reyne’s expanded “Whiskeyverse,” introducing us to Jamie and Aidan and this larger world of intertwined characters. The series originally released in 2017 (though it was re-released as a self published series in 2023), so while Jamie and Aidan have been side characters in many of the connected series over the years, it’s been a while since I have read a book where they are the focus. So I was really excited to be back with these characters and this story really reminded me how much I enjoy this series.
I enjoyed how it all came together and I think fans of the Whiskeyverse, and especially Aidan and Jamie, are really going to enjoy their final story.

I dropped into this series with Angel's Share and I can't help but ask myself
How did I miss this?
I just grabbed Single Malt, book one, which happens to be free right now. I have to go back to the beginning and meet all the teams. Get the full experience as well as get a little more up close and personal.
The characters were so vivid and easy to connect with. I felt like I was a part of everything
This is the final book in the series as well as the closing story for Aidan and Jameson
Thier happily ever after if you will
And what an exciting, adventurous, and at times angsty story it was
The banter, the emotional connections, the physical chemistry between Aiden and Jamie.
The absolute faith they had in each other when things got out of hand (there were some tough personal growth moments)
I adored the "smaller" additions to the family
I do not recommend reading this as a standalone.
Yes, it can be, however, you will most likely end up wanting to know everyone and their stories and you will just end up binge-reading the series from the beginning so

Narrated by Christian Leatherman. I really enjoy this narrator’s voice, especially for Layla Reyne’s books. This book is a visit with Jamie and Aiden (the titular Whiskey & Irish). The mystery is small-ish, and turns out to be connected to a very old case. There is some excellent character and marriage growth, old characters, new characters, and heartfelt goodbye to long-gone loved ones.

One of the most satisfying things for me as a reader is when I can revisit existing couples to get one more glimpse into their lives. The great thing about Angel’s Share is that we get more of Aidan and Jamie while the author gives us a fresh storyline. That makes it so very easy to sink right back into the world of Agents Irish and Whiskey once again.
I love how they each keep each other grounded, knowing the other is there for them no matter what. Their bond is as solid as ever without feeling overdone, and they are as hot together now as they’ve ever been.
It was great getting to see all of the supporting characters again as well. The author has created a great network of characters from their different series that continue to be there to reinforce our guys every step of the way.
In Angel’s Share you’ll find the suspense and excitement we’ve all come to expect in this author’s works, and for me I was totally engrossed in the story from start to finish. This was a great way to wrap up things for Aidan and Jamie as things come full circle, though I’d never be surprised if they were to pop up somewhere else in this author’s other stories again.

I have enjoyed every book of this series. I'm sad it's the final book. It was fun to be back in Aidan and Jamie's lives. Jamie is still a basketball coach but still keeps up with his hacking skills. This book brings back some characters who have been out of Aiden's life for years. I enjoyed getting more background on Aiden's life before he was partnered with Jamie. This book was a great ending for the series.

We’re reunited with everyone a few years down the road. Jamie is back courtside, but that doesn’t stop him from getting right in the middle of everything with everyone else still. And that’s exactly where this one takes us. Back into the middle of chaos. Back into the middle of chaos. Just when we thought Aidan’s past is no longer chasing him, it comes knocking. The more they dig, the further into it everyone gets. And the more I worried! I am undoubtedly in love and attached to these characters. But Jamie and Aidan, and their loved ones, will never allow anything to ruin their beautiful love. So I had nothing to worry about!

A nice blend of high-stakes investigation and personal challenges Aidan and Jamie face in their life together. Slightly lighter on action, heavier on the family vibes, it nevertheless hits all the right notes for an Irish & Whiskey novel. I'm actually rather impressed with how well it fits with the rest of the series, because maintaining the same tone and original style is no easy feat when previous books were written quite a while ago.
As a side note, it was a surprise to see 'can be read as a standalone' in the blurb, because… well, not really? Certainly, there are books featuring established couples that can stand pretty well on their own, but it seems like a bit of a stretch when the whole plot revolves around the case that got the main characters together and the people who were involved then are still constantly referred to.
That said, the author has created an intricate story filled with a large cast of engaging old and new characters brought to life by the narration of Christian Leatherman. Personally, I might be partial to the previous audio version (though only of the first 3 books) by Tristan James, but the new narrator did a very good job with so many characters, voicing them consistently throughout multiple series by the same author. All in all, it's a satisfying conclusion to Aidan & Jamie's turbulent journey and fans of the series will certainly enjoy catching up with them.

Aidan Talley and Jameson Walker are back! Angel's Share is the fourth novel and the sixth release in the Agents Irish & Whiskey series from Layla Reyne, and it's the same series that introduced the world to Reyne's writing. This is the fifth and final book in the Agents Irish and Whiskey series. You must read the previous books first or you will be completely lost as to who is who in the story. This is the story of FBI SAC Aidan Talley Aidan and Jamie, now a basketball coach and retired FBI Agent & hacker extraordinaire. The book starts when they have been happily married for five years. Going away together to a basketball tournament where Jamie's team is competing and rolling it into a holiday for the both of them. Of course, things never go that smoothly for them. In the City of Angels, a ghost has risen and demands payment for past grievances. And Aiden and all the familiar characters from the earlier books, are immediately working on the case. Since Jamie trusts no one to have his husband's back as well as he does; joins in as well. This is their story. The book is well written and easy to read. It is nice to see old friends pop up in the story as well. While I enjoyed this book, I did find that the search for the bad guys was milder and tamer than in earlier books. I didn't feel the same intensity or drama. This is still a great ending to this series. Very easy to enjoy.

What a great way to catch up with Aidan and Jamie with this book! Note - you can not read this book as a standalone read or else you will have no clue about this couple. Also, where it is not necessary to read Ms. Reyne's other work, it too would be helpful as there are many supporting characters that make appearances in this book. This book just felt like a big welcome home party with the return of Jamie and Aidan and the characters from the other books that overlap.
In this addition to this couple's story we jump 5 years in the future to catch up with this couple. They are happily married and have been discussing expanding their family but are unsure how when they are drawn into a crime spree that involves Aiden's family's shipping business. What they don't expect is that this crime spree also brings back Aidan's past.
In this action packed read the pair team up again to solve the crime and still have the amazing chemistry that their story started out with. I loved that the characters still have the chemistry between them that the had all along. The twists and turns of the story are one that I have come to expect with Ms Reynes that always keeps me guessing.
Overall, this was a great read that had me hooked form the start of the book to the end of the book. I would recommend this book to others.

3.75, I always love more Aidan and Jamie content, loved to see a glimpse of all the couples in this one. Irish and Whiskey were just as adorable as ever, and I loved to see their little family grow <3 Bev was so cute!!
Though now I am starving for more romances with the remaining single side characters: number one is my baby, my love, miss agent Lauren Hall who was only mentioned twice jn this book and who i sorely miss. Second is mister Matty K’s story, I don’t love the idea of him with Ryan Lassiter the rock star, I do not care for that guy and I miss the hot badass lawyer Gail. I love Matt though and even if I am pretty sure he is going to end up with the rock star I will read anything that focuses in him. i want a throuple of the rock star the fbi agent and the lawyer so bad i could die though. I struggled with a C+ or B- and I settled on B- for nostalgia reasons as much as anything.I really enjoyed the earlier books in this series. While I enjoyed seeing Irish and Whisley again, and the suspense plot as decent, there are a few things that makes this just good and not as great as other books in the series. First, you have to remember a lot of names. I've reread most the Irish and Whiskey books recently, plus the first books in the other to series that get tied in here. But I still felt overwhelmed by all the side character names, especially since it was at least moderately helpful to know why they were important allies here. Then there were the new characters, friends and villains. Lots. Of. Names. Next was that while the suspense was interesting, it wasn't really allowed to build up much, so in the end there was less at stake than I thought there would be. Finally, while it's great to see the boys so in love, I could have done without so much repetition of how much, both between Irish and Whiskey, but also anyone one else who would listen. And I could have done without the over sweet epilogue.
I know I'll revisit the original books in the Irish and Whiskey series, but I doubt I'll be rereading this one.

First, I refuse to believe that this is the last book! I'm so greedy I want more! But all good things must come to an end. This book had it all. We come full circle from where our boys started and ends perfectly. I really don’t think the author could have made it any better. Our boys are on a vacation, well there is a basketball tournament so for coach it’s not all fun and games, but there is down time. When a big cargo gets jacked from the Talley port, Jamie jumps right in to help Aidan and the family tract down the stolen merchandise. What they don’t expect is Aiden’s past to jump up at them. We get family that Aiden thought was lost, found. We also get new addition to the family that makes all the struggles they went through worth everything. I'm not going to give any spoilers away, but you really need to pick this up ASAP and get it read.

I've loved Aidan and Jamie ever since I read Single Malt and in every single book they've appeared ever since. Angel's Share can't be read as a standalone, but trust me, you are in for one hell of a ride if you read this series, it's just amazing, and somehow every new installment is just about as good or better than the previous one.
The case that falls in Aidan's lap this time around, makes things go full circle for Aidan and Jamie and makes Aidan have to face his past, which in turn, gives him something he'd only dreamt about before.
I don't want to spoil the book, so that's all I'll say, other than it was well-written, fast-paced, and action-packed and that recaptures all the magic of the other books in the series, while giving fans of the series a view into what Aidan and Jamie's life will be from now. This is definitely a recommendation from me.

I enjoyed this conclusion to the Irish and Whiskey journey, it definitely brings it all together with a great combination of action and family love!
Jamie and Aiden are supposed to be enjoying a trip for a basketball tournament but that’s never how things actually work, nope, instead they end up in the middle of a theft investigation that brings them back to where it all started and having to face the painful past. But it also brings the possibility of healing some of that pain.
I thought this was a fun read, definitely action packed, but also filled with a lot of emotion as they work through everything that is happening and the people it involves. I loved seeing Jamie and Aiden as such a strong and devoted married couple and truly figuring out what they want for their family. I think this book does a great job of bringing things together and by the end I really did feel like it was a fitting conclusion that made me happy! A definite must read and great addition to this series.

I really enjoyed this book but I was definitely a bit lost with some of the characters that were mentioned since I haven’t read Layla’s Trouble Brewing Series, Fog City Series or Perfect Play Series as yet but I’m going to read them next. I’ll probably end up doing a re-read of this book after I’ve finished reading them. I thought that it was a good conclusion to the Agents Irish and Whiskey Series. This book is set five years after Aidan and Jamie were married. Aidan is planning to spend the weekend cheering his husband’s basketball team on but when his brother Danny and CEO of Talley Enterprises is rung about a cargo theft at the docks, Aidan goes with Danny and his wife Mel, ex-Chief of Security at Talley Enterprises to investigate.
Jamie knows the drill and waves Aidan off and he’ll help with the case when he’s free, since he likes having Aidan’s back. While following the tracking device on the diamonds that were part of the cargo stolen from the docks, turns personal when a blast from Aidan’s past ends up in the middle of the investigation. Aidan and Jamie still make as amazing team, their chemistry is off the charts and I loved seeing them reconnect with some old and new members of the family. I’m sad that this is the end of this amazing series but it’s not the last from this universe. I’m looking forward to reading Imperial Stout next and getting more of Cam and Nic. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to others.

Soooo... Romantic Suspense is one of my favorite genres, and the original Irish and Whiskey series is one of my all time forever faves. I love them. Angel's Share is the 5th in that series, but it encompasses almost all of the characters from throughout the author's other series. There are a fair amount of references that I was lost in but not enough to take me out of the story. Because this story, at its core is about the love and connection that Aidan & Jamie share.
The guys are in LA for a basketball tournament where Jamie is coaching, stuff starts considering off the rails and at the helm is Aidan's godson, just smack dab in the middle of a whole lotta mess.
What follows is action, adventure, families reconnecting and folks finding family along the way.
If you're a fan of this author and their work, and you're familiar with the whole connectedness of it all, you'll be pleased and full of warm and fuzzies!!!

Aidan and Jamie are soon embroiled in a much larger dangerous plot that involves a former case, past family at risk and requires the help of their extended family of LEO’s and others.
There is no denying Aidan and Jamie are one of my favorite couples, as they fought to be together, love hard, and have such a great supportive family and found family surrounding them. I enjoyed this glimpse into their lives, their marriage, the constant action, the emotional ties to everyone they know, and the addition of more family to the Irish and Whiskey extended family. Plenty of favorite characters show up and have cameos, from this series as well as some of the author’s other series. There is never a second that you don’t see how deeply Aidan and Jamie love each other, and that’s a romance I can read over and over again. 4.5 rounded up

I didn't expect to get any more Irish and Whiskey other than the quick cameos in other series, so this was exciting.
Is Jamison (Whiskey) Walker (aka Jamie) an unbelievable level of perfection, to the point of almost stretching incredulity? well, yes, yes he is. But I'll be honest, that's why I'm here. I can see flawed and very human individuals in my everyday life, I was to see spectacularly gifted and secretly good at everything heroes in my books! Also I feel like we mostly see Jamie through Aiden's point of view and he is just so absolutely besotted that OF COURSE he's going to have a glitter filter on when looking at Jaime.
I love the Found Family strength that runs through all the Layla Reyne books, and the Boys get a final EVEN MORE happily ever after!!!

Stories in which kids are in danger are always heart-wrenching, and Angel's Share is no exception. When Aiden reconnects with family who had pushed him away, there is regret on both sides--and equal determination to not let the opportunity for reforging a new connection slip away. Layla Reyne strikes a great balance between the adults riding to the rescue and the kids being smart and helping to save themselves, which is everything a parent could hope for. It was fun watching Jamie step back into his hacker role, displaying all his quirks and showcasing his expertise!
The mystery is thrilling, the family scenes are warm and cozy, and the continuing growth of Aiden and Jamie's relationship is super satisfying. Though there could definitely be more of their story to be told, this is a well-executed end to their arc.

Jamie and Aidan, how I've missed you... the cameos just haven't been enough and this book was exactly what I'd been hoping for. I love the way these two men love each other - there has never been a question that they are better together than apart and they are an unwavering united front for the people who rely on them.
As usual, Layla Reyne gave us all the guest appearances with their respective nudges to help you place them in this extended cast of characters, which to be honest, I appreciated. There are a lot of characters to keep straight, but every single one of them is a relevant addition, there is no unnecessary bulk in this quick paced book.
This was the send-off Aidan and Jamie deserved, bringing them full circle and leaving readers confident that they have a beautiful future continuing to unfold in front of them. So many happy sighs.

It has been five years since Aidan Talley and Jamie Walker got married. Jamie is now an assistant basketball coach at a Division1 college and Aidan is the SAC for the San Francisco FBI office. The theft of one of Talley Enterprise’s cargo trucks brings people from Aidan’s past back into his life. This book is filled with the usual action, thrills, and spicy times between the husbands. It introduces several new characters who have a great impact on Aidan and Jamie’s lives. The ending is absolutely perfect. It’s heartwarming and leaves Jamie and Aidan in a wonderful place. Angel’s Share is a wonderful series finale. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes romantic suspense.

Holy wow. So first, I'm beyond pleased that this book includes a note about where it fits in the Whiskey-verse because I love nothing more than to read all these series in order (I'm a reread-aholic, okay?). Second, this was such a perfect end (and yet still open-ended enough that I could see a spinoff series about Angel, just saying). Jamie and Aiden are so great together and seeing them working with everyone else to kick butt and take names was wonderful. Further, it was nice to have the TE world collide with Aiden's FBI world in such a way that things felt inexorably tangled and twisted. Layla Reyne's writing--her characters, their interactions, and action-packed plots--never fail to keep me turning pages and this book only raised the bar further.

It's quite a trick to write a new book in a series that had it's last installment several years back but Reyne pulls it off in this novel. This book is a fast-paced, intricately-plotted page-turner with plenty of action, steamy smexy-times and a strong emphasis on relationships. The plot is complex with a lot of moving parts (you’ll need to pay attention!), but there’s a fairly good balance between it, and the quieter, more intimate moments. However, if you haven’t read the earlier books in this series or any of the author’s other San-Francisco-set romantic suspense series, then this is absolutely NOT the place to start because there are a lot of cameos and name-checks for several of their characters - and it’s pretty much essential for the reader to be familiar with at least some of them and how they are connected to the two leads.
