The Napa Valley is known for its picturesque vineyards, but when a prominent local professor is killed while on a tour, Ophelia and Poppy are called in to help. Something smells off, and it's not the aging reds in the cellars.
Meanwhile, Nick has just moved across the country to start his new job, and the initial bumps in the long-distance relationship are starting to leave a sour taste in Poppy's mouth.
Between the murder investigation, trying to keep her relationship alive, and the start of the Adam Otis trial, Poppy's keeping a lot of balls in the air. But the investigation quickly turns in a direction Poppy didn't expect. Will she solve the case, or is she about to find herself getting corked?
Turn Over a New Lead is the 5th book in the Poppy Perkins Mystery series by Jasmine Webb.
I love this series; I think this was my favorite installment!
Ophelia and Poppy are off to The Napa Valley when a professor is killed during a tour. On the romance front Poppy is dealing with her new long-distance relationship with Nick and its not going to great for her.
The characters are well written and complex. The mystery is really well done. I was guessing until the very end.
I’ve so enjoyed this series. Poppy and her boss and the rest of the gang lead us on one adventure after another. Glad Poppy and Nick are still hanging in there. Expect their relationship to pick up soon!
This series keeps getting better and better. This was the best book of the series yet. This is the second series of hers that I've read and both are great. I could really do without the foul language though.
This is the fifth book in the Poppy Perkins series by Jasmine Webb. It’s been fun to see Poppy grow and develop over time in her career, as well as in her personal and romantic life. This mystery was not quite as captivating for me as those in her previous stories, and at times her boss feels a bit too self-assured for my liking, but overall, it was entertaining and enjoyable. I hope the author continues to publish this clever cozy mystery series.
Evil and Greed will be dangerous for anyone going up against these two forces but that is exactly what Poppy and Ophielia have done in this book. Ewan Lambert and Meredith Otis summed up evil and greed. One refused to take accountability for refusing to properly raise her son and the other to just kill or murder anyone who got in his way. This has been one of the most enthralling books I've read in a while keeping me wondering what happens next. A definite five star rating and eagerly looking for the next book.
