Angela van Liempt is a small-town girl with big dreams. Music inspires her and she creates a playlist for every book she writes. The Atlas Cliffs series emerged from her curiosity with the paranormal, but along the way, she discovered a passion for weaving romance into her stories.

She lives on the east coast of Canada with her family and her beloved dog, Harley, otherwise known as ‘Pippy’ or ‘Harley-Quinn’. A lover of the ocean, full moons, and sunsets, she’d choose to be barefoot on a beach any day over big city life. Escaping into fictional coastal towns with characters who feel like real people is one of her favorite pastimes.

I received this book as an ARC copy. Initially, I was nervous about reading and rating the second book in a series in which I had not read the first. However, my view changed very quickly. The author easily interlaced both books allowing the reader to kind of have a picture of what happened in the last book without reading it.

The main character Drew is forced back to her hometown Atlas Cliffs after tragedy strikes. Not wanting to remember what she went through the last time her was there (Book #1). She all of a sudden finds herself in a position that she has to save herself and those around her from a ghost witch hunter. Throughout the book she learns so much about herself and slowly realizes that the life she used to despise may be what she wants after all.

There are so many lessons and cozy feelings in this book believe it or not. I love the support she has despite the gifts she possesses, no judgment ever!

This was a very good read, I gave it 4⭐️ only because I wasn’t so enthralled that I wanted to read it in one sitting. There are a lot of storylines to follow and I felt like some of them either went nowhere or had a very slow build up.

I am very excited for book#3.

So good!!!! I love the characters and how they all interact with each other. Drew see's dead people and kinda helps them solve their issues and helps them to the other side. In this book, there's love, loss, and some fighting demons . Her BFF Piper and nico help her along the way. It's definitely a must-read.

Angela did it again, only better! Wandering Souls is good, but Seeking Haven is great! If you loved early 2000’s TV shows like Vampire diaries and Ghost whisperer, this book is for you.

Potential spoilers below:

Where do I even begin? First of all, Nico is my favourite favourite favourite character in this book. I just love him. The friends to lovers trope was a refreshing break from the ever so common enemies to lovers trope. Nico is almost the sunshine character in this series, and is overall just an amazing guy. Though I know modern bookworms love the MMC having at least 10 red flags, I promise you will swoon for Mr. Green Flag Nico. I love the second chance romance trope, and I am so happy Angela brought back Nico for this series!

Ahh and I do love Drew. I love that she is just so perfectly imperfect. She is such a fun main character to follow. And I really love the witchy/magic edition to her character. Though, I love paranormal plots, her magic just made me far more intrigued with the storyline. Drew is Bonnie from Vampire Diaries, only less annoying.

As for the plot, like I said about Wandering Souls, this book gives early 2000s TV show vibes and I love it. Centred in a small town, with a creepy past, I can’t help but think about Vampire Diaries while reading this book. Especially with the witchcraft element! If you loved Bonnie’s subplot from VD, you will love this book. Another series that I ALWAYS compare Wandering Souls to is Ghost Whisperer, and Seeking Haven is no exception. Finally, I loved the plot connection with all the paranormal characters from the last book. Pay close attention while reading both books because everything is connected, and I am certain I missed so much foreshadowing into what is going to happen next. I know I missed some foreshadowing in the first book, which looking back I cannot believe I missed little hints and clues about Drew, Gran and Atlas Cliffs. I am excited to see where Angela brings this in her next book!

So yes, please trust me when I say read this series because you will be hooked. I hope future readers love the characters, the story and the world as much as I do!

Read If You Enjoy
👻 Supernatural Suspense
👻 Swoony Romance
👻 Unique Magic & Ghosts

This story follows Drew, who can communicate with the dead and picks up shortly after the end of Wandering Souls. Drew is in Boston finishing up her first semester of art school. After a disturbing dream about her Gran and being attacked by an angry spector (and barely surviving with the help of her ghostly friend Ori), she decides to head back to Altas Cliff. While back in her hometown again, she reunites with her best friend Piper and ex-boyfriend Nico as well as discovering more about herself and the spector that attacked her.

The story, steeped in mystery, supernatural suspense, and sweet romance was an absolutely amazing read. It was fast-paced, with lots of twists and turns. Angela's writing is captivating, immersive, and makes it so easy to get drawn into the story. The friendships Drew has, both living and dead, are really endearing and have a lot of depth. I really enjoyed seeing Drew's character grow as she processes her grief, loss, and trauma from the past year.

I love Nico so much, and I was so happy we got to see more of him. He was my favourite character from Wandering Souls, and he continues to be my favourite in Seeking Haven. The slow burn, second chance romance, is so swoony, and the mutual pining is perfection.

This book was eeire and mysterious and sometimes downright scary, but I loved every minute of it. This is the perfect read for your October TBR full of ghosts and unique magic.

Thank you, Angela, for providing me with an ARC copy of Seeking Haven in exchange for an honest review 💚

In the second installment of the Atlas Cliff series, Seeking Haven picks up a few months after where the first book left off, but with a notable shift in tone and maturity. Drew Harlow, who was introduced as a 17-year-old on the cusp of adulthood, is no longer the same girl we met in the first book. The trauma and experiences she went through in the debut novel have forced her to grow rapidly, and her character development in this sequel is remarkable.

One of the most compelling aspects of Seeking Haven is how much more I connected with Drew in this book compared to the first. Her growth feels organic and well-earned. The immaturity she displayed in the first book, while understandable for someone her age, has been stripped away as she navigates her new reality. It’s clear that Drew is no longer just a teenager; she’s becoming a young woman who’s learning to make difficult decisions and face harsh truths. This growth makes her more relatable and grounded, giving readers someone to truly root for.

Angela van Liempt does an excellent job weaving Drew’s personal evolution with the broader narrative arc. The stakes are higher, the emotions more intense, and the conflicts feel more urgent. The pacing also feels tighter in this second book, and the world-building continues to expand in a way that pulls you deeper into the story without feeling overwhelming.

Ultimately, Seeking Haven is a testament to how far Drew has come as a character and how far the story itself has developed. If you enjoyed the first book, this one surpasses it in every way, providing more emotional depth, higher stakes, and a protagonist who feels more complex and real.

I was thrilled to receive an advanced reader copy of "Seeking Haven".

I rate this book 4.75 stars/rounded up to 5 on Goodreads.

Drew returns in book 2 of the Atlas Cliffs series. I enjoyed getting to know Drew, Gran, Piper and all the other wonderful characters in book 1 "Wandering Souls".

Things I loved in this book even more than book 1:
- a more witchy vibe as Drew meets the owner of a mysterious new shop on the island. I read this in Halloween season and the witchy storyline (complete with spells, candles and crystals) was perfect.
- a more emotional tug as life events and interactions between characters go far deeper than in book 1.

The thing that took away the .25 star from perfect 5 is this: Drew makes some head-scratchingly impulive decisions in this book. Weirdly, I feel like I really know Drew and I wanted to tell her, "Girl, come on...you were given a book of spells and told to focus. But you're running off all headstrong without preparing. You're smarter than that."

This is probably a credit to the author, who has created such a lovable, realistic character in Drew that she seems like someone I know! Nonetheless, those nutty, spontaneous decisions seemed out of character for Drew.

Overall, this was such a well-written book with rich descriptions and wonderful character development. I'm delighted to hear that Angela is already working on book 3 of the series.

I received this book as an ARC. I read the first book in the Atlas Cliffs series and LOVED it, so when the opportunity arose to receive an ARC for book two I jumped at the chance. Drew is a girl with the extraordinary ability to see the dead. These wandering souls are usually harmless and have problems she helps them to solve. This time, however, one particular spirit wants her dead and Drew must figure out how to save herself, her friends, and the town from a terrifying fate.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author has a way of writing suspenseful scenes that will have you on the edge of your seat. Ghostly encounters and dangerous scenarios will leave you holding your breath for our heroine. And her relationships with her friends (both dead and alive) and love interest leave you with warm, fuzzy feelings to counteract that adrenaline. The plot is intriguing and keeps you wanting to know what is going to happen next. It is an exciting read perfect for lovers of the supernatural and just in time for spooky season! Definitely give this and the first book in the series a read!

A wonderful Paranormal romance with just the right amount of creepy and spooky. If you read Wandering Souls, book one of the Atlas Cliff series, then this is a must read. If you haven't read Wandering Souls yet, well, go read that one first and come back to this one.😉 This series just gets better and better and this second book, really hit home with me. (loss of a loved one) This story can be REALLY spooky, but it also feels like a comfort read to me, because of the well loved characters and the wonderful atmospheric descriptions in the story. You can just visualize everything so clearly, the way Angela writes the people and places. I don't want to give too much away but I guess I can say, Drew sees dead people. The dead seek her out and she tries to find out the reasons behind them not being able or just not crossing over yet. They talk to her but she's always felt pretty comfortable that they cant touch her or harm her, but lets just say, in this book, she's not so sure of that particular theory anymore. If you enjoy paranormal mysteries, with an intense young love romance, (no spice), this is a great paranormal mystery romance. Easily 5 stars. Looking forward to Book 3 already!!

Book two of the Atlas Cliffs series, Seeking Haven was a delightful adventure to read, full of mystery, love and second chances. The characters are awesome, and I loved the sense of found family throughout the book. Main character Drew can see Ghosts and helps them find peace and closure so they might move on. The book has similar vibes to the show Ghost Whisperer, which I enjoyed thoroughly. I loved the addition of magic to the supernatural element and found it so intriguing to explore alongside Drew. There was a number of connections to characters in book one, and it was a joy to be able to glimpse those characters once more.
This book has an engaging plot, suspense and great pacing. The characters are lovable and have depth, the mystery will have you on the edge of your seat and the slow burn romance between the friends to lovers' main characters will have you smiling.
I'm so grateful to have been given the opportunity to read an advanced reader copy of this book and cannot wait for the story to continue in book three.

I was a late comer to the story of Drew and Atlas Cliffs, having just finished Wandering Souls last month. And when I tell you I had Drew withdraw... I mean it.

This story brought me back to the hauntingly mysterious Atlas Cliffs and right back to the people I fell in love with. Drew's growth from the previous story to this one was admirable because I am pretty sure I would have run for the damn hills.

Angela's writing is absolutely captivating! I could see, hear, and in some cases... smell everything that was happening. I was brought back to my younger days where relationships seem to be the beginning and ending of your life and Angela really hit home on those experiences and the intricacies of young love. Let's talk about love... NICO! I was SO excited to see him again.

There were moments where I was so happy my cheeks hurt, there were a few moments where I cried (I might have worried my kids), and there were a few parts where I will filled with anger. Angela does an amazing job of creating and selling amazing characters full of love, and sometimes hate.

As a true blue romance reader, I am beyond surprised that I didn't long for more of the love story. What I got was exactly what I needed!

I LOVED THIS!!!

This is such a fun, unique and amazing series!! I loved book one, Wandering Souls, but book two, Seeking Haven, is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!

So much is happening in Drew’s life. She comes home to Atlas Cliff from college in Boston, and some drastic things have changed, plus a lot has happened for her to cope with. She finds out more about who she is and why she has her abilities, and it’s pretty exciting!! Friends become closer, second-chance romance blooms, and she faces her past.

This is an exciting book, with lots going on!! Lots of surprising twists and turns that will make your jaw drop!!

The characters are so real, I’m going to miss them until book three!! I love these characters and am very invested in their lives, I don’t want this series to end!!

If you enjoy a suspenseful NA supernatural mystery series, with small town vibes, strong friendships, family and romance…you will LOVE this series!!!

Seeking Haven, the second in the Atlas Cliffs series, continues right where its predecessor left off and brings readers right away into the paranormal life of Drew Harlowe. Surrounded both by friends she loves and the ever constant world beyond the veil, Drew navigates a second chance at love while trying to solve the murder of a young man named Ori, who cannot find peace until he discovers the cause of his death. Meanwhile, she must also contend with The Reaper, a terrifyingly powerful ghost with a vandetta against Drew and others like her.
Fast paced, exciting and engaging, Seeking Haven is a great fall read for anyone looking for spooky, witchy vibes with a romantic subplot and twists that keep you turning the pages.

I LOVED this book!!

I read Wandering Souls just before this book and it was such a seamless transition from the first book to this one. We follow along with Drew who has an ability to see and communicate with the "wandering souls" while she tries to help them find peace to fully cross over to the other side.

She navigates this while trying to keep on top of her own personal life at the same time. She's trying to figure out her love life, her family life and her own life all while trying to make sure this spooky creepy spirit doesn't take out her and her loved ones at the same time.

The writing was great, the story and the world building were incredible and I loved every second of this book!

Seeking Haven is about a woman who returns to her small home town to face a supernatural force threatening to destroy her and her loved ones. This world is intricately created, with unsettling ghostly encounters starting right from the first few pages, continuing vividly throughout the story. The protagonist is captivating and pleasant. This story has a slow-burn romance, and this love interest is endearing. The pacing of the novel is also good, details unveiling themselves at appropriate times. Seeking Haven is a comfort read for fans of supernatural mystery.

I received an ARC copy of this book but life got in the way and I've finally gotten around to reading/reviewing.

Book one captivated me and kept me guessing. It had a fast pace and I found I couldn't put it down. Book two was a good read but I found it harder to get into and much more predictable. In regard to Ori, who killed him and his connection to Jasper, I figured that out fairly quick. This book felt slower paced than the first one, and had a few different story lines, but the character development was really well done. I really like Drew and that she thinks things through and is independent and not reliant on others.

Looking forward to book three.

Simply Awesome

Unexpected magick. Loss. Finding joy again--but no instant fixes. Love and new family. Evil vanquished by the Light. No labels. It's simply light.

With people, do not look for simple answers, because people are not simple. This book exemplifies that truth. The joy of this book is getting to see beyond the surface simplicity, to see it all unfold.

Content: I consider it a clean read.
If there is profanity, I didn't notice it. There is no erotica. There is fighting, but no explicit gore.

While this book can stand alone, it is a much richer read if you start with Book 1. Happy reading!

I loved this book so much. She comes back to her hometown and partners up with her best friend and her ex. We get to learn more about Drew as she gets to know more about herself. This was a fast-paced book along with twist and turns. That I didn't see coming. Drew is also dealing with loss and trauma that happened over the past year. This is where you see Drew grow the most. You also need to read the first book to fully understand the second book. I highly recommend you read the 1st book before reading book 2

Having read and enjoyed Van Liempt"s first novel, Wandering Souls, I couldn't wait for her second novel. I read Seeking Haven as an ARC reader, and I couldn't put it down. This author knocked it out of the park again. Her writing style brings the scenes and characters to life, you feel like you are part of the story. If you enjoy supernatural, romance, mystery, witchy vibes, this book is for you. I could easily see this series being made into a Netflix series! I hope this author writes many more novels, she has a real talent for writing.

I received this as an arc and didn’t realize it was book 2. I decided to read book 1 so that I could actually ARC read properly and I know this isn’t where I need to review book 1 but I devoured it in one night. The second book was unreal, and was almost better than the 1st in my opinion. I fell in love with all of the characters through this series and felt as though I was in the story with them. It was a compelling, chilly, funny, heartwarming book and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I cannot recommend it enough! I cannot wait to read book 3.

Arc review

Actual rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the second book in the Atlas Cliffs series. Drew is brought back to Atlas Cliffs by unexpected circumstances. There, she has to make some difficult decisions, solve a mystery, and save herself and her friends.

This was a great YA mystery romance. I really like the plot and the storyline. Drew is relatable as a character even tho her self-doubt is frustrating at times.
The pacing was good, but some parts of the plot were a little slow to progress. The romance side plot was a nice addition and gave the story more depth.

I would recommend.

PLOT HOLES GALORE

I was stupid excited to read this trilogy because I enjoyed the first book so much. This falls so flat for me. Took me forever to finish the book because I just couldn't understand why there is so many plot holes. I liked the idea of Drew seeing the dead, but then to add her into a lineage of witchcraft and that she never knew? There were so many side characters as well that I was getting confused on who was who.
I'll read the third book just so that I can see how this story ends, but I'm taking a break after reading this book.

I have read book one and just when I thought the story could not get any better, this was released. Even as a standalone this book is amazing. I loved seeing what Drew did next. I absolutly loved Ori (we all need an Ori!) The writing is fantastic, the story is so good. The best part about this boom for me is that not one chapter was over the top or unbelievable. If you enjoy ghosts, psychic dreams and visions then this will not dissappoint. I cannot wait for book three already!

Wonderful follow-up to Wandering Soul. I loved the return to Atlas Cliffs. Angela does a wonderful job of adding in new layers to the world she built in Wandering Souls -- building on the mythology and giving the reader more insight in to Drew's magic. I loved the connections she starts to make to new characters and watching her rebuild past relationships with Piper and Nico. I cannot wait to see where the story goes next.

I adored this one even more than book 1! The romance was so well-done, and I adored the beginnings of the found family trope. Ori has my heart, and I hope to see him more in the rest of the series. I loved Nico and Drew's relationship and being able to follow on their journey as they uncovered the mystery and found love.

Thank you to Angela van Liempt for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
