Oy. I obviously didn't pay attention to the full details of the book when I downloaded it. I didn't realize it was two separate novellas. First up - Savor with Bryn and Matt. Um. I kind of want to say ick but that's not entirely fair to the plot. Matt isn't a creepy guy but he does do some ick behavior when pursuing Bryn. And Bryn - lord. She can't quite figure out who she is. Is she a timid, shy, bland person? Or is she gorgeous and sassy? She's kind of a wet blanket. I can't tell if her character just isn't developed enough or if that is the personality the author wanted for Bryn. This may be a personal issue as I low-key detest wet blanket personality female characters. I also called bullshit on the "gossip" that was leaked about Matt and Bryn. No one is tailing a former MLB player like that AND finding a way to snap a photo of you having sex up against a window high up. Nope. It was a weird "conflict" point to throw in. That leads me to Matt's relationship with his father. There is no resolution with that. No comeuppance for the father for what he did.
This felt like an underdeveloped novella. Too long to not have more details but not long enough to have more details.
And then you have Intoxicated. What. Did. I. Just. Read?
This "epilogue" novella was completely unnecessary. I assume the author wanted to "wrap up" the three couples' stories but in reality, none of it was worth it. I didn't read Archer and Marina's story but the way she was depicted in the epilogue made me not like her, at all. I guess I didn't care for this short story because I didn't read books 1 & 2 and didn't super connect with book 3. So...take that for what you will.
If you loved the first two books, I'm sure this book is great. But for a standalone - skip it.
