Zillian Blackburn—my father's death has made headlines all over the press. I've returned to Detroit with my sisters to pay respects and tie up loose ends, only for war to break out among the seven families. Zara is the chosen leader, and there's a bounty on her head should she be killed. It'll take the entire Blackburn family standing as one to win this battle. But then luck strikes me at the worst moments when I lay eyes on Cassie Brown—the owner of a small coffee shop in downtown Detroit. My love for her remains strong, no matter how hard I try to fight against it. If anyone finds out that she's my weakness, they'll hurt her to get to me, and I swear I'll burn this city down if anyone harms my future wife.
Cassie
On an ordinary day, I’m running my small coffee shop when Zariah Blackburn saunters in and turns my life upside down. The most dangerous of the Blackburn sisters, Zariah exudes a cold and calculating nature as she takes whatever she wants. Including me. Now, I'm in the middle of a battle between the Blackburns and the seven families and all I can do is hope that I survive this war. Zariah's act appears genuine on the political stage, yet there is a dark side hidden beneath her demeanor. Despite trying to resist, I'm completely drawn to this woman. Can I withstand someone as dangerous as Zariah Blackburn? Or more importantly, will I make it out alive?
This is just a placeholder release date. The release will happen sooner than this.
I must say this is the best book in this series, i was excited to read Zariah, while it’s not what i expected it’s a nice change from the previous books
Zariah didn’t do to Cassie what the her sisters did to their Wives, she met her and fall in love yes but didn’t take the choice from her at all which what i love the most, And there’s Attraction between them and not just lust
As for the previous books they proposed after less than 24 hours! They didn’t even propose they just ordered them to be their wives without real consent ! Here Zariah didn’t make a move until after 3 weeks, even then she didn’t ask Cassie to marry her immediately
Zariah is definitely my favorite of the sisters and she deserves the world, i knew her sisters was monsters but this made me hate them more especially Zara 😒😒
Also why didn’t they name the family the Z family? Theeeeres so many Z in here, it’s so confusing even Zariah said so 😭😂😂.
“It seems they've exhausted all the Z names. And thank fucking god for that because even I’m getting lost here.”
Jenna definitely left the best for last 😏 Zariah is definitely missing a shit ton of screws and she happens to be my favorite sister. She’s batshit crazy, impulsive and seriously unhinged. Chapter one had me like 🙂😏😅😯😲🫢😳🫨 I’m obsessed with this series!
Honestly, this book was "ok" - 3.5/5.0. I'm not a big fan of insta-love.
Zariah Blackburn has had her eyes on Cassie for three months after meeting her in her coffee shop, and is obsessed with her. She wants her to be her wife, her forever person. Meanwhile Cassie is well aware of the reputation a Blackburn carries. She knows Zariah is dangerous, she also knows she is determined to get with her. She waves off her advances time and time again until one day she gives Zariah an ultimatum; if she wants her, she needs to get rid of her human pets and be a one woman girlfriend.
You find out later in the story that Cassie has had her eyes on Zariah for at least a year after seeing her time and again at a club that Zariah frequents. She wanted to get with Zariah that whole time but always saw her with femmes.so she figured she didn't have a chance (since she's butch).
They sleep together once and are instantly joined at the hip. Cassie decides she will defend Zariah's honor and protect her from her mafia enemies even though she herself has never been involved in the lifestyle.
There are two steamy sex scenes in the book, one of which occurs at the very end of the story. This book does have its HEA.
This book has some Domme/sub depictions, as well as very light BDSM (e.g. spanking). There is on page violence to include unaliving and removal/obliteration of male genitalia.

I think this was my favourite Zariah whilst not the strongest physically possessed so much emotional strength more than her sisters combined. I hated how she was treated by her siblings especially when they were all about family. So glad when she stood up to them and showed her true self, she gave Cassie a choice which was refreshing.

Omg... Zariah is my favorite one of all the sisters!
Let me just say that you get how absolutely crazy she is from the beginning. Yet, she is full of surprises!! Zariah and Cassie are just 🔥🔥🔥. I could not put this book down once I started. The series is amazing so far, but this book really kept me on edge - it was pretty exciting.
Of all the Blackburn stories this has to be my favorite. The instalove thing is great, but the control thing has never sat well with me. Zariah was the first to show selfless love and I'm here for it. She's a little psycho, but I love her the most of the four lol.
3/5 spice 🌶️ •dark sapphic •insta-love •mafia •dom-sub •found family
“Zariah is my entire world, and I love every bit of her - even the chaos in her eyes that makes her who she is.”
Zariah has my heart. i was NOT at all expecting her to be the way she was. in the other books she was psycho, super dark, a dom & had so many “pets” i didn’t think this woman at one emotional bone in her body. damn was i wrong. while she’s not the strongest physically, she is hands down the strongest emotionally. i was so proud of her in this book. she is fiery and unpredictable & she was the first to show selfless love. she wanted the best for Cassie. Cassie was everything Zariah needed. Cassie made her feel loved, protected, wanted & safe. She was the boss & never backed down to Zariah & that’s what Z needed. They were so perfect together. ———-i really loved when the fam worked together and helped eachother out. they all really worked as a team in this book & worked out their differences. in the end, they all have such a deep love for eachother & will do anything to keep eachother safe.

fav quotes 🩸❤️🔥
“There’s no need to demand submission from me, Cassie. I’m yours. I’ve been yours since I first laid eyes on you.”
“And I’ll fight for Zariah until my last breath.”
“My love for Zariah is stronger than any attachment to material things and I'll choose her above all else.”
My only complaint with Jenna Kent books is I want to read another book of hers right away, Zariah’s story was no different. There were a lot of turns in this book I was not expecting and I must say I smiled often. I recommend reading this entire series, you won’t regret it. Reading one of Jenna Kent books will have you hooked on all her other masterpieces.
Waited so long, but Jenna, frustrating as it was, it was worth it 😍... Sad that this series had ended, hope you have more in store for us please. Angs, 🔥 scenes and HEA. LOVED this entire series an a 5🌟 all the way for the Amazing Jenna 😘
Needed a quick read for a "mob wife" themed book club, otherwise this would not have made my read list.
That said, this novella is chaotic, ridiculous, probably AI-generated nonsense that was a ball to read 😂 Lowkey, the ending is unironically great??
Zariah is legitimately unhinged (not just in the "Oh she's so crazy" casual dismissal of women kinda way). Insta-love is wildly annoying. Didn't realize it was 4th in a series until a few chapters in, but I *really* get the feeling that the gaping plot holes and background wouldn't have been much aided by the other books lol. Got confused about which Z person was which - Genuinely think it didn't matter 😂😂😂
