I enjoyed reading this book for BetterBookClub.com because of the Q&A style chapters. Each chapter covers topics such as childhood heroes, achieving dreams, failure, overcoming adversity, their favorite quotes, and much more.

While the book overall didn't have an "ah-ha" moment, it did provide insights from respected coaches in various sports that was easy to digest. My big take away from this book was that no matter how rich/famous/successful a person is they still had to put in hard to work to get there. Everybody has struggles; it just depends on how you handle them.

Since this book has quotes from various coaches-instead of just a book about a particular coach-it is a very appealing book to sport enthusiasts no matter their favorite sport. This book is also a great one to read when you are very busy due to the style of writing. You can easily pick the book up and read a little and then put it down. When you pick the book up again in a few days you can easily slide (baseball pun intended) back into the book.

This book went through various questions about succeeding in life and listed all the responses from each coach. It was interesting but somewhat repetitive in that many said basically the same thing. I enjoyed reading this book because it had a lot of good advice from a lot of successful coaches. The advice I remember most is to work harder than anyone else, never quit, always be honest, do your best, failure is opportunity for a comeback, and be passionate about what you do. All of them agreed that making a lot of money does not mean you are successful, but money can be a by-product of being successful. The last chapter included short summaries about each coach.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in philosophy, or who is looking for some advice or inspiration about success.

While giving brief ideas of success and ways to improve character this book taught the valuable basics in order to succeed and to never give up. Not your average story with resourced quoted information slowed the pace of the read and found by picking up at any given section could be a valuable reference for grasping new ways of self-improvement.

This is one of those books, you get what you want from it.

I loved the variety of coaches that spoke in this book. It was wonderful in that aspect.

It's also not unsurprising that all the coaches spoke on similar points. It's about hard work, being truthful to who you are and making the most of life. Those aren't any real secrets other then in how to stay motivated in that light.

This is a book on coaches and their perspectives on what it means to be successful and how to achieve that in life. More of an anthology of coaching principles of these coaches from John Wooden, Red Auberch...Bill Walsh e.t.c

Interesting reading for college football fans, but come on, I could have grabbed a bunch of quotes from various interviews and pieced this together myself.
