A gambit for independance puts Vandal up front, center, and in the crosshairs
Still reeling from heavy losses on Xenotia, the Chevaliers have a new client and a new contract - one that sees Vandal sent to the war front months ahead of the rest of the company on a special assignment.
Tasked with turning a hangar full of derelict uprights from a fallen star empire into a fleet of battle-ready uprights to spur a revolution, Vandal must learn how to lead his detatchment of unruly mechanics. Because once they make planetfall, Vandal will step once more from the hangar to the cockpit. And those tanks are the only thing between him, and certain death.
Scott Warren has done it again! The third book in the Warhorses series delivers action, a great storyline, and in-depth characters, all of which kept me invested from page one to the end. Looking forward to book 4, and if your a fan of mechs (or just a great story!) grab all of the books in the series, they maintain their momentum throughout the series! I highly recommend this series, and am already looking at Scott's other non-Warhorses related books!
This series of three books with a 4th forthcoming is one of the better mecha mercenary series I have read.. Very entertaining and not a Battletech universe. Easy reading and fast paced. I recommend.
Normally I’d save this kind of a read for the summer, when I can enjoy the pulpy goodness. This is like the Action Theater and Sci-Fi Theater movies of my childhood. Fun, escapist, and just a blast to read.
