I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
I’ve been following this series for bit (no pun intended) now. I like the simplicity of the work, the colorful nature of the illustrations and the fast-pacing plot. It’s a fun adventure with creative characters that keep you interested in the story.
I know kids love this series but many adults are hooked on it too. I would highly recommend that you start at the beginning of the series and proceed from there to fully understand the characters and what drives their adventure. Ages for this series can begin at five and make for great reading time with parents.
This series is also great for chapter book readers who struggle with reading and both boys and girls will love it!
This is my favorite fiction book series I own the whole series and have read the whole series about 6 times and I will probably read the whole series another 15! So I highly recommend this book. Where Runt the villager buys the aeon forge, and get's home to find his village is on FIRE, he battles a crazy boss, battles a shade (some type of ghosty thingy) and learns that he is going to the capital for more training about himself. And he also meats his hero (Sir Elric).

This book is Minecraft fan fiction, which definitely has an audience. I have 8 year old and 6 year old so I have listened to some of these books with them and I have read another book by the author “Diary of an 8 bit kitten—lost in the nether”, so I knew what I was in for with these books. If you aren’t familiar with Minecraft you probably won’t like this book and it might not make any sense to you.
In this book Runt and his friends have been selected as the best warriors of their village and they are off to represent Villagetown at the Capital. The work together on crafting food items and armor and join in on a battle. Some secret identities and plot lines are revealed, which is exciting for fans. Also, Runt crosses paths with our friend Eebs from the 8-bit kitten books—fans will be excited to see how their stories intersect.
This book was good, but it was my first time reading about Runt, whose adventures have been going on for awhile and made it hard to jump in at this point. The plot was a little confusing and I think it would lose younger readers. I think this would be best for readers in grades 3 and up. There are cool Minecraft-style illustrations and the font size changes to stress certain words, which is good for drawing in young readers.
Special thanks to Netgalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest opinion.
epic book, idk much about the "archives" part at the end and how to see them if/when they release, ill google it soon when I have the mental capacity to do so :P the ending was pretty cool too love the series, probably no. #1 mc series made I had to wait when I got this from amazon bc it was sanitized ig and it smelled bad so I had to wait like a week until I could read it :/
Not what I was expecting, but I am definitely not the intended audience, so I'm giving this book the benefit of the doubt and rating it on a curve. When I asked my son to choose his next bedtime read-aloud and he selected this from his personal library, I groaned inwardly at first, then realized that reading it together was a golden opportunity to finally understand this beloved game that I am confounded by. While I learned many details about it through the story, I gained little knowledge of how the game actually works. However, this is a story that my son clearly enjoyed enough to want to share it with me and the tie to a popular game is a great way to encourage reluctant readers to pick it up, so for these reasons I am glad that it exists even if my experience wasn't as rewarding as I anticipated.
I'm sorry Cube Kid for criticizing your book, but you strayed a little too far from vanilla. Overall, the book was decent, with lots of action and plot twists ( won't say what ). It contains an assortment of RPG stats ( levels ), weapons, and armor, which makes me irritated because you can't actually play Minecraft like this because I'm a Minecraft veteran. Additionally, Breeze wears, uh, questionable armor in terms of defense, and she somehow still survives😡! The book was thus a bit irritating because it turned good ol' Minecraft into an RPG fantasy.
The story continues with our team of heroes as they become OP, legendary fighters! Narration is completely perfect, accompanied by amazing artwork. The vocabulary is most definitely more advanced than the previous stories, which immerse you into a fantastical world of dungeons, elves, warriors, and a war which brings friends together. It’s a timeless adventure any age will enjoy.
The best LITRPG series that I have ever read, both action packed and exciting. I am really looking forwards to Wimpy Villager 17, or Record of Aetheria 1, whichever you decide to call it. Keep up the amazing books. (I am writing this as a review for Wimpy Villager 16).

Everything else was fun, I expected to not enjoy the new changes but I did.
The biggest mistake I was whitewashing Breeze, like her being an elf in disguise? Sure i can buy it but why on Earth is it okay to make her real appearance pasty white like it's a huge change! Her hair length, color, eyes, body type could've changed but no it was her skin pretty much it's so stupid

This appears to be the last book in the series, permanently, so if you were expecting the final battle... it’s not here. My kid is disappointed. It seems like the author is currently writing the Diary of an 8-Bit Kitten series. Book 3 will probably pick up where this book left off.
