Wow, talk about starting the year off with a BANG.
Lovers of fairytale smut, this is the story for you. Not only is it incredibly spicy, but the plot twists???? I cannot wait for the next installment. If you are scared of the bigger fantasy tomes, this is what I like to call fantasy lite™️ and would be the perfect place to start! It’s set in a kingdom that has the memory of magic, but there aren’t large amounts of world building needed and it’s an easy world to grasp. Koen is such a kind, lovable leading man and Bellatrix? She’ll win you over faster than you expect.
I highly recommend you give this a read if you like spice, royal kingdoms, forced proximity, and enemies to lovers!

First half of the book is awful... Almost made me abandon it... Second half slightly better, but still not good enough for me... Writing is not good, fantasy world lacking of details and built up... Could have been great with some of the ideas, but the realization was too sloppy for me ... I wish the editors would have help the author work all this a bit better :/

This book was just a good fucking time like there is no other way to put it. from page one I was over here like WHUUUUT I have to see how this plays out and y'all the twists and turns you'll go while reading this is INSANE. I don't fancy reading Fantasy often and so like idk how to really review this is fantasy supposed to have an element of believability or is it supposed to just be insane? Alas, IDK but i do know i couldn't put this down. This is the perfect book for those that want to try some fantasy(ish) and doesn't want to go through all the world building of usual fantasy books

I’m not a fantasy reader at all, but I decided to give this one a go! This store is so well detailed and the characters are so great, you can’t help but be engulfed in the story!
It gave me huge Braveheart vibes with a beautiful romance, 🔥🔥🔥 sex scenes and a cliffhanger that will make you go WTF!!!

Terrible. Sloppy writing, very basic storyline and depthless characters. Reading the 4-5 star reviews, makes me think these readers must have only just started their romantacy journey. I agree with someone saying there is no world building so if you’re just here for the spice, go for it and agree that is “fantasy light”.

This book took me by surprise from the first page and didn't stop until the last! I'm not sure how this book came across my feed but I'm so glad it did, this series is my newest obsession!
The authors new voice is a breath of fresh air. The way she writes inner thoughts made me feel like I knew the characters instantly, making me fall in love with them over and over again the more they revealed about themselves. Koen's thoughts in particular had me melting a few times, he is just so pure and kind! He cares deeply and isn't afraid to show it to the people he loves. We stan a man not afraid to show his emotions 🙌
I loved how Bellatrix was written. She is smart and willing to stand up for herself, but she's also been conditioned her entire life to do her parents bidding, and that type of control isn't easy to escape (either physically or mentally). She ends up having slips along the way, and then when she realizes something is wrong, *she* should do something different, she does! Just as much as i loved Koen's strong sense of self, I loved seeing Bellatrix grow as the book went on.
My goal for this year was to find more hidden gem reads. This book isn't just a hidden gem, its the entire dragons horde. The only downside to discovering this new author is she doesn't have a huge backlist for me to dive into. I painfully wish I had more words of hers to devour!

lots of twists and turns
Ended on a hugeeeee cliffhanger. I wish I was more patient, but at the rate I go through books I hate cliff hangers without the next book being available. It had a lot of unexpected twists to it. I liked the book and story line, but I wish it would have ended with a little more closure with the next book not being ready. Otherwise I liked the spice level!!

Disregard how long it took me to read this one. I was in a physical reading funk and only doing audios mainly for like all of January! I 100% enjoyed this book!! It took me a while to finish the first half, but then I flew through the second half this week! It’s a wonderful mixture of smut and fantasy! Forbidden love. Enemies to lovers. Slow burn. Dual POV. Definitely recommend and I cannot wait for book 2!

Every time I tell someone I don’t like fantasy, they take it as a challenge for a recommendation and tell me that their book is very light fantasy and greet for beginners. This is the first time that has been accurate. I devoured this book. It was so good! I didn’t feel overwhelmed with world building or too much with mythical creatures. There was a princess, there was dragons, there was a curse, but for someone that does not have the brain capacity for a full on mythical world, this was incredible. I did not expect to love it as much as I did and I immediately jumped right into the second one having to know where it goes.

She’s the next in line to be queen but tradition and law says she can’t rule without a king by her side. 🙅🏻♀️

Jackie did such a good job painting each scene so that you could literally envision every page come to life! 👩🏼🎨

Omg….I don’t even know where to start. I felt all the feels in this one. Frustration, anger, happiness, confusion…all of them sometimes simultaneously 😂 it was GREAT and I’m impatiently waiting for the next one!

I always love a book that keeps my attention from start to finish and leaves me eagerly anticipating the next! Even when you think you might have things figured out, you get another curveball and I love it! The combination of fantasy, action, romance, and love is perfect. Book #2 can’t come fast enough!

I just started really dabbling in fantasy this past year. Sometimes, I have a hard time imagining scenarios because, for me, they are a tad far-fetched, or the imagery just doesn't do it for me.
This book definitely took me on a journey. I absolutely loved it. I could picture the town and the setting. But best of all, it really dug deep into the characters' personalities. I loved seeing the character Bellatrix portrayed to others vs. her reality of who she actually was.
I love that Koen didn't give in to her just because of her status but instead slowly learned the real her.
There was some smut that was soooo good. But THE TWISTS is what got me. I was not expecting the outcome of several scenarios, and it had me gasping and flipping pages quick to see what happened next.
As we all know, this past year has been full of the very popular dragon series - iykyk. This book also included dragons! I felt like I connected with the characters more in this one vs the storyline in the others. So it very easily moved to my favorite over those..
It was such a good start to the series, and can not wait for book 2 to release this year. 🙌

Oh man. Soul Snatcher really snatched up my heart and soul. This book was entertaining, unpredictable and ended with a killer cliffhanger that I won't be able to stop thinking about. I loved Koen and Bellatrix. I loved her kind heart behind her tough outside persona. All the surprises throughout the book kept me on the edge of my seat. I definitely recommend this one!!

Holy cliffhanger!!!
I really enjoyed this book. When the ad for the book came across my instagram I ran to Amazon to download it! There was magic, curses, creatures, spicy scenes, family drama, and so many secrets!! If I wasn’t a busy working mom I wouldn’t have put the book down. I made the mistake of finishing the book during my lunch break at my desk; I audibly gasped when I reached the end. I didn’t realize it was the end and the next book doesn’t come out until Summer 2024. I cannot wait. I highly suggest picking up a copy of this book if you are into magic, royalty, spicy scenes, and secrets!

She is not an evil person even if she has unalived a very long list of men due to her curse. All Bellatrix longs for is love and romance and a partner to share the throne with. Koen is the man of the house since his father decided to disappear and leave his mother and baby sister to fend for themselves. The king, Bellatrix’s father, has taxed his kingdom into poverty and doesn’t seem to care. When the opportunity to be a handyman in the castle is available, Koen could not pass it up. All the money he is making can provide for his family for a very long time. His mother, someone who once held witchy powers, tells him to stay away from the princess or he may have the same fate as those men who are never seen after visiting with Princess Bellatrix. After he promises is mother he will be safe and expresses he shares the same distaste for Bellatrix as his mother he sets off for his work. Once he gets his assignment, it just so happens to be within the Princess’s private sleeping quarters. This is the one place where he did not want to be.

I’m struggling to get through this book. It’s poorly written with a lot of fillers and repetition. The same things get said over and over throughout this book and at times the exact same words are used in sentences right next to each other. I like books that flow smoothly, this book has been annoying since the beginning. Sure it has some smut. But you can’t just throw a bunch of words in a book and then throw in some smut here and there and think you’re a good smutty writer. This book needs a lot, a LOT of work. I’m a little over halfway through it and I’m disappointed. I will finish it begrudgingly but if there are additional books added I will not read them. You’ve already lost me.

This was the perfect book for my first foray into romantasy! I was totally drawn in from the beginning (what an opener!) and could not stop turning the pages. I loved the strong and complex FMC and the beautiful heart of the MMC, who was locked in an all too relatable struggle between practically and passion. The story was fantastic with some seriously heart-pounding twists and turns. Highly recommend, especially for those wanting to venture into this genre - plenty of action and plot, but flows well and is easy to follow!

The first few pages had me going wtf but in a I am super curious now way. I know something was up with the one person just too fishy to not be. Also now I know how this book ends I am beyond excited to see how the next ones goes.

While the plot is interesting and I will read the following book, it is painfully predictable and I wish the author left more room for the imagination or twists and turns. I enjoy the double narrative but again, painfully predictable.

Such a great forbidden love story. A story where the man is completely in love but, fights the feeling because of the rumors of the "soul snatcher." The rumors turn out to be fabricated by none other than her mother. The Queen. Loved this book!

It felt like reading a 14 year old fan fiction. It was an okay read to pass the time, but the writing is poor and repetitive. It tries to be steamy a little, but the characters are lacking of personality so much that it wasn't even interesting... And the end was beyond predictable.

I don’t even know where to begin! I’m so glad book 2 comes out in July because I cannot wait to continue Bellatrix and Keon’s stories. The plot, the spice, the characters, man! Definitely earned the 5 stars for me.

A great first publication. The storyline was well thought out and creative. It could use some development of story and characters but it was well done and engaging.
