Shiver-by-the-Sea 3: Creature from the Gloppy Green Pool

Rate this book
The third book in this spooky, sweet series makes a big splash as Bella and her friends help a new mucky monster. Perfect for fans of Eerie, Elementary, Bailey School Kids, and The Notebook of Doom.

When Bella, Cooper, Casper, and Bram go to help get the new community pool ready for its grand opening, they find more than just a place to swim and splash. Gloppy green webbed footprints lead right out the back door, and right into Shiver-By-the-Sea!

Soon there are reports from a few Shiver residents that something’s been eating the fish in their ponds.

Can the three friends find the creature and help it find a new cozy home before its caught and sent off to the aquarium?

Creature From the Gloppy Green Pool is monstrously fun, warm, and welcoming, and a perfect addition to the Shiver-by-the-Sea chapter book series.

Please note: I have changed my review policy. I'll no longer be using the star rating system--I'm an author, not a reviewer or editor, and I'd rather support other authors by not ranking their books. I write honest (brief) reviews for each book I read, so please look to those to find out what I loved.

Shiver-by-the-Sea sounds like the perfect place for curious youngsters to grow up. In this, the third in the series, Bella, Cooper, friendly dog Casper, and young Bram, a vampire who relies on a steady supply of syrup instead of blood to keep him going, try to find a safe place for Glug, a froglike creature that is raiding the ponds for fish and making residents nervous. Readers will relish the delicious descriptions in this book and root for these kind-hearted friends on their rescue mission. And who doesn't love to say the phrase "gloppy green pool" over and over? Books such as this one teach readers patience, persistence, and empathy. The plot is straight-forward, and the action fast paced enough to lure in even the most reluctant or dormant of readers.
