In this volume Nii is introduced to sweet potatoes, gets fresh milk from the farmer and an overabundance of cabbage from another farmer, learns more wildlife skills from a neighbor young man, goes for a hike with dad, plans a garden with dad, and dad improves his housekeeping and cooking skills.

This is just a feel-good, cozy read with an oversized, talking, two-tailed cat, and a widower. A lot of the adventures revolve around nature and food, and there are several panels with beautiful artwork of landscapes. Snatch this up when you need a low-stress, cozy read.

This series continues to be so adorable! Nii sleeping on the couch is so cute. Oni-chan messing with Nii that black and white cows produce white milk and brown cows produce coffee milk is hilarious. I loved them making their own butter too. Can't wait for volume 3.
