Once the property of kings, Saladin's ring is priceless. But it also has been known to be deadly. Ken Sanderson is convinced that the ruby treasure rightfully belongs to his mother--even though she wants nothing to do with it. Ken's plan is to retrieve the ring from England, sell it, and use the proceeds to benefit the financially ailing Church. However, stories in the press have enticed several others to contend for the inheritance of the now-famous centuries-old ring--including a young woman whom Ken will find very hard to call his enemy.Soon it seems impossible that Ken could ever acquire the treasure and not lose Karen Gage, the woman he has come to love--especially if the wealthy and dangerous Stephen Langton has anything to do with it.Join a vivid gallery of characters in an appealing adventure where you'll discover the true nature of life's most valuable treasures.

This continues the story but with the main characters being the son of Elisabeth of the first book. Roulstone writes an easy book to read. Nice to find books that are interesting but not spell-binding. I suppose this series could be considered simple because the characters are pretty transparent and consistent, but I find that sometimes best meets my reading needs.

I just realized this was volume 2! I wonder what volume 1 is about. This is a great romance that also has religion, forgiveness, and a priceless Saladin's Ring.

Poorly written, I'm sorry to say. The characters are completely predictable, and the plot only slightly less so. I only read it because of a recommendation and a friend said they made a good movie out of it. The ending is enjoyable though, as all the characters come together for a final dinner and wrap-up of the story. I did like the ending.

I enjoyed reading this book and thought that the book had a good dramatic plot. A little slow moving in some parts and I wish some events were talked about more in-depth instead of skimmed over. Overall, a pretty good read!

I surprisingly enjoyed this book. I didn't read the first book in the sequel, but it didn't seem to matter. I liked that the author addressed LDS doctrine unlike some LDS books that only seem to have LDS characters so that the book can be sold to the LDS market. It was an easy, fun read.

I was a little surprised that a man could write a romance novel in the style as most female authors.

Pretty good- a little too convenient of an ending, but I am interested in the next book. It's set up to be a rather good revenge plot.

What interested me the most were the court scenes. I really enjoy most stories taking place in England.
