Life has taught me that Happily Ever After is just a fairy tale. Balancing life in Esperance while looking after my four wild siblings? A challenge. Keeping things afloat with two part time gigs? Harder than it sounds. Flipping burgers at the diner by day and enchanting kiddos as Elsa by night is a grind.
Enter Wolfe Rivers, an older than me, hotter than Hades billionaire, with an allure that’s impossible to resist. But he’s not just any rich guy – Wolfe’s secret haven in Raleigh is all about raw passion and dark desires.
As the pull between us becomes impossible to ignore, his world of diamonds and decadence is a tantalizing escape from my daily hustle.
But with every stolen kiss, the lines between his high-stakes universe and my family first reality blur.
Now, when the safety of my family is threatened, and our secret trysts aren’t so secret anymore, I’m torn.
Caught in a whirlwind of desire and duty, secrets and sacrifices, can I find a way to live happily ever after with the man of my dreams?
Listen, I got this book from a tiktok quote and let’s just say that I was bamboozled. The plot was not plotting and you cannot convince me that they loved each other or that their relationship would last. Both main characters annoyed me so much. Also everything, and I mean everything, was just super cringy. Last but certainly not least, how are these 4 children and both main characters fitting in a sports car, a McLaren GT to be exact. I was confused about it at first thinking of it probably has like 5 seats, so I looked it up. IT ONLY HAS 2 SEATS and yet it’s fitting 6 people????????? On multiple different occasions?????
Very cliché. This book was underwhelming and didn't match the blurb. The blurb read as it was going to be a bit more thrilling with mafia/billionaire Esk drama with the predictable poor girl story.
It opens with Esme performing as a child entertainer as Elsa at a party that randomly, Wolfe has been invited to (first weird situation as to why he would be there). Of course, it's an instant attraction.
The next time they meet, she is having a "feel sorry for me", crying into a cake because she has to spend her birthday alone moment. As she is a forced single parent raising her 4 siblings as her mum just left her with them all 5 years earlier, and the baby daddies are all unknown, you would think shipping them off to camp on her bday weekend would be a dream. Any parent or siblings would be over the moon to spend their bday alone if they finally get the 4 kids out. But not her she continuously goes on and on about how sad and a loser she is being on her own. (Because all women need a man apparently to be happy). Enter Wolfe he decides to give her a good bday by taking her to dinner and then maybe out dancing.
Enter the cliche fan fic billionaire pretty women experience.
He takes her to a boutique to buy her a dress, then a jeweller for an over the top expensive necklace (atleast she made him buy the cheapest one rather than a ridiculous one), then a full spa day with makeover ending.
The dinner was lovely. Then out of nowhere "oh I have a sex club" ofcourse you do because this is also a cliche now that all rich men own their very own "exclusive" sex club that caters for every thing. Women, for some reason, have no issue and are happy to go. Why can't men just own a bar or restaurant? Why always a sex club.. It's not exciting or shocking anymore. Esme is apparently a sheltered girl who doesn't have time to date and has no money. But she is up and ready for this. But the scene is basically irrelevant to the story.
Now, she apparently struggles with money, but we barely see her working. Kids' birthdays are usually on weekends, so if she is an elsa performer, her weekends should be packed.. but nope, she has time to ship the kids off to camps so she can track Wolfe down for sex.
Then you wouldn't believe it.. her old crappy car breaks down, and Wolfe happens to be driving by and saves them 😒
Then guess what?? Their trailer out of nowhere burns down, and Wolfe just offers them to move into his place 😒😐
Then it's like you are reading a different version of the story. The last quarter of the book is actually good. After Wolfe asks Esme on a lunch date, she lets Ariel (12 years old) look after the others. A small incident happens, and the youngest (5) gets burnt. So Esme breaks things off with Wolfe.. realistic and good. It's not a bad break up, just an honest conversation where she says the kids need to be a priority for her.
Then we get chapters of Wolfe finding ways to be her friend and help her as a single parent. He contacts a single mothers group and gets ideas. (Cooking meals (which he takes classes for as he doesn't know how), buys groceries for them, does school runs, etc.) It was so wholesome. And then we got really cute sweet moments with him and the kids.
Things that were strange in this book: 1. Wolfe's whole family and job situation. There was something about him trying to purchase land for his dad, which seemed dodgy, but it wasn't fleshed out, and then out of nowhere, he has done it for apparently no reason. 2. His brothers were weird. It didn't make me want to read their stories they came off as arseholes. It was like the author tried to make them mafia-esk but didn't commit. As they threw around their power every now and then stated threats, there was an incident at the sex club that made it sound like he killed people but again wasn't committed to. It was really weird. 3. Why did we go from Wolfe understanding that Esme needed time to let someone in to 30 seconds after her saying she would have a relationship with him to a proposal??? Why couldn't we just have a small time jump of a couple of months or something, and then he proposes getting all the kids involved or something. It just seemed really weird to fast-track that. 4. The necklace reappeared out of nowhere and kept saying she never took it off. But for like half the book, there was no mention post date of it. Only when they had broken up and he was trying to woe her did it make a random reappearance. 5. The pregnancy in the epilogue... she said she didn't want kids as she has already raised 4 and still is.. why did there need to be a pregnancy. Why could they just be content on raising the kids.
Authors need to come up with more original thoughts. It's really not that hard. How many times do we have to read these.
I'm not bothering with the second book in this series, as i didn't like Greyson enough, and Stef was a light side character. And it will no doubt just be another cliche fan fic published.
There were 1 ⭐️ moments and 5 ⭐️ moments in this book. At times I was absolutely cringing, and others I was really impressed and enjoying it.
Ironically, I read this book because I wanted to read the second book in the series - after being introduced to the MFC I now don’t care about reading the second book 😂
I went in blind and thought it was gonna be a small town romance. And it was....with a nice spicy addition! Esme has a heart of gold and Wolfe is a yummy mmc that grows into everything Esme deserves. It was a really easy and nice enjoyable read.
I loved the quirkiness in the beginning of the book, of Wolfe being this aloof playboy yet an absolute gentleman at the same time. And Esme's fears and responsibilities with her younger siblings was touching, but then near the end of the book everything just felt rushed. Like suddenly Wolfe switched to this father figure he believed he could never be and Esme sort of I don't really know how to explain how she changed, but she changed and in my opinion not for the better but at the same time she did?
That probably made no sense at all, but that's how I feel after completing it. I might read the other brothers stories when I have the time or if I feel like it.
But if it had kept this similar vibe from the beginning to the end I would have scored it better, but the drastic vibe change just was a bit of a mood killer.
Esme is a tired young single woman who is responsible for caring for her 4 younger siblings. She works 2 jobs, lives in a rundown trailer, money is super tight, and she doesn’t see herself ever having a life of her own. Wolfe is a billionaire in town for business. He sees Esme at a birthday party gig that she’s working dressed as Elsa and falls first. But he doesn’t know anything about her life or how she’s living paycheck to paycheck to support her siblings. They slowly navigate their attraction and relationship. Their lives are worlds apart. It’s filled with stops and starts because neither one of them knows how they’re going to do this. It’s dual POV, no cheating, her siblings are depicted realistically. It’s a cute story with a sweet HEA but some of the chapters feel incomplete. I’d love to read more about Wolfe’s brothers.
I like it... a lot, but there were also some stuff I didn't like:
1. The ending... How did we reach proposing so quickly. I was very much confused thinking how did we go from not being together and figuring out feelings to being proposed. That threw me off a bit.
2. In the beginning parts of the book, there were times when she would say something, and she sounded like a child or "naive" bit it improved over time. This might most likely be just my pov, but yeah.
But otherwise I really liked it.

It was so cute! Both MCs were so adorable and I loved them both so much. 3rd act breakup but it didn’t have too much angst. The FMC just had to figure out how to rely on someone else for the first time in her life. Single mom/guardian older sibling trope. Billionaire trope.
Summary
Esme is essentially a single mom to her 4 siblings. Her mom keeps having babies and then dumping them off on Esme. Wolfe is a billionaire who is chasing a land purchase deal in Esme’s town. He goes to his client’s niece’s birthday party and is immediately attracted to the girl playing Elsa. He saves her from being assaulted by a drunk guest and they part ways. On Esme’s birthday she ends up all alone. She buys a cake and sits in the town square about to eat it alone in tears. Wolfe sees her and takes her on a birthday extravaganza. He buys her a dress and takes her to a salon, then takes her to dinner and his s*x club. A few days later they sleep together for the first time when she comes on to him. They continue to hang out and sleep together and he’s amazing with the kids. When Esme’s trailer burns down, her and the kids stay with Wolfe for a few weeks until she finds a permanent home. They continue having a secret situationship. Wolfe helps Esme get child support payments from her mom and the kids dads and so she can afford to rent a new place. Wolfe continues to visit them tho. One day when Wolfe takes Esme out on a date. Belle (the youngest) gets hurt under Ariel’s (the 12 yo’s) supervision. Esme freaks out and amicably breaks up with Wolfe so she can focus on the kids. While Wolfe is back home he realizes he loves Esme so he takes cooking lessons to cook for them and drives the kids places to lesson Esme’s load. He even takes care of them while they’re sick. He tells Esme he loves her. The day after they get better she realizes she loves him too and goes to the city with the kids to get him back officially. She tells him she loves him and he proposes then and there. The epilogue shows them married 3 years later with a pregnancy announcement!!!!

This is one of them books that tugs and the heart strings, makes you giggle like a teenager and makes you feel proud of a certain playboy !
Wolfe is a billionaire playboy. He helps run the family business but also has his own adult club. He is carefree no responsibilities and is all round wild child.
Esme is our FMC who is a strong beautiful young woman who has been dealt rubbish hand but has stood up to the mark and took on her 4 siblings at the age of 23. Life is hard struggling to keep everything together mounting bills and stresses of looking after 4 kids.
One of her jobs is being a character appearance and at one kids party she locks eyes with Wolfe and this starts the dominos off between these two. The storyline is so heartwarming with Wolfe changing his ways, working on showing up for Esme and the kids and falling hard for Esme.
What should have been a one night stand in Esme head turns into something more after a night at Wolfes adult club, desires and fantasies come to light which changes the dynamics of the relationship which is blossoming between these two unlikely match.
Loved this book so much ! If you like billionaire playboys, strong but down on luck FMC , spicy moments and a HEA then this is the book for you ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️.5
honestly not what I thought I’d be reading (as a different scene pulled me into reading this book from TikTok but the vid didn’t have a book name, just author and I figured it was this one)
I honestly really like how it started and how it’s not too much of backstory before getting into the plot - straight to the point but also kind of wished there was a little bit more drama (but that’s just me as a sucker for the drama scenes before everything works out in the end)
I genuinely loved how it was told and especially him having the sex club, her being innocent and just taking it in, and him being respectful of it all. Damn those scenes and just the two having their own moments together, damn. I want it.
A bit annoyed with the parents; I get why they’re brought in for the male protagonist but also seemed a bit “thrown into the story to fill in”. His brothers were great. Not sure why a sister is added in if she’s never included in any scene.
Tbh didn’t care about the female protagonist’s friend. Also just seemed a bit of a filler. I get needing to have someone to vent and tell all the gossip to but also like her role was just “me me me” and so I skipped a lot of the scenes with her included.
All to say: i want him in real life ugh! She’s so lucky!
Wolfe sees Esme sitting alone in the park with a birthday cake and ends up making her weekend spectacular. Then quick get togethers here and there before they add the four brother and sisters that she takes care of. The characters are strong, determined, supportive and have lots of steamy moments. The storyline was fun as the kids show off great personalities, also interacting with Wolfe. Loved their chemistry and how he found a resource that helped him figure a plan to get them back together - help assist with the various jobs from laundry to carpooling and assist when they are sick. Beautiful, heartwarming romance with depth and protectiveness. Well done.

Esme is a young woman taking care of her 4 young siblings all with Disney names. Esme works two jobs just trying to make ends meet. While working as Elsa at a children’s party she sees a very attractive man who rescues her from being attacked. Some time later they run into each other again when she is alone in the park celebrating her birthday alone. Wolfe and Esme spend the day together. These two have meet ups here and there between her working and taking care of her siblings. These two are really drawn to each other. Can they achieve a happily ever after with her four siblings, his family and wealth?
thought this was going to be just a cute billionaire romance and was pleasantly surprised.
Esme works two jobs and take care of her younger siblings. She randomly meets a billionaire and keeps running into him. Wolfe doesn’t know what gets into him but when he sees Esme’s pathetic birthday celebration he decides to give her a birthday to remember.
Like I said earlier, I thought this was gonna be a cute story, it was very cute but then there was a sex club, 3rd act breakup and a man who did some self reflecting and did what he needed to do to win his woman and her kids.
I really liked that Wolfe was all about Esme from the moment he met her. And I always love a person that does the right thing for their family, even when it's hard, like Esme does for her siblings.
She is so adamant about doing things on her own, but things happen that lead her to have to accept help, and Wolfe is there to help her. I liked that he helped but wasn't pushy and she stood her ground on what she was willing to accept. Still, he ended up stepping in to make sure that she got help from the people who should have been helping her all along.
The bond between the siblings was so special and I could relate wholeheartedly to Esme's situation.
Listen, I’m all for a strong and independent FMC….but this felt excessive. Esme literally fighting their connection, despite Wolfe constantly showing up and helping out in any way she would let him. Down to even trying to clean their bathrooms and do laundry. What more does the man have to do to show you that he’s in it for the long haul?? Esme kept voting trust issues, which honestly felt unwarranted since there was no history of broken trust with men. Yes, there were issues with her Mom, but even that didn’t feel like it warranted 320 pages of trust issues. The last 8 pages she finally admits she loves Wolfe.
✨No cheating ✨Standalone in series ✨No cliffhanger

Esme is a saint. She handled everything by herself. There's no one who deserves fo be married and loved by a billionaire than Esme. She sacrificed so much for her siblings. I think it's down right awful what her mother and the kids fathers did. Just abandoning them all. She deserves all the good things. Wolfe being the sweetest human being on the planet was absolutely perfect. Him asking single moms what they needed most so he could help Esme was the cutest thing ever. He did all this without any expectation. I love that about him!
A heartwarming romance about Esme, who is raising her siblings. Then she meets Wolfe one day at the park and they start spending time together. He is hard to resist and is the perfect escape from her daily life.
But what happens her family is threatened? Will he hang around to help? Or will he run at the first sign of trouble.

This was one of those books that feels like your wrapped in a hug . It follows Esme who is looking after her 4 siblings on her own when she meets a billionaire playboy. There's an instant connection between then but he's not entirely equipt to be what she needs. However, he turns things around, learns and takes care of her. I love the bond he builds with the kids aswell. It's just heartwarming and lovely.
I give this a 3.5 To me, it was a pallette cleanser! It's cute and sweet with not much spice.
I like that there isn't any miscommunication, no arguing, and no BS.
I thought that Esme was firm to her beliefs and what felt right to her life. While Wolfe didn't really push her so much. The realizations that he has seemed more like self reflection about growing up and what he needed to do to better himself.
Edited to add that all my questions are answered in the next book. I don’t know how the other brothers can beat Wolfe. He is everything in one hot package. The audio was perfect and I loved the characters and story line. I do wish there were more details added. Like do they ever go back to the sex club, does Esme and the kids meet Wolfes parents, and what about the wedding?! I need those details. But all in all a great listen and I will be listening again in the future.
This book was adorable and heartwarming, with some steamy scenes. I loved the storyline about the sister taking care of the kids and her backstory. It was also refreshing to see Wolfe being caught off guard by her, instead of the typical billionaire romance where he investigates her background. Esme was the real star of the story for me. You could really feel her emotions and wanted to help her out.
I really didn’t think I would enjoy this book as much as I did. I needed a palate cleanse and devoured this audio while running errands today. Besides randomly finding a billionaire it was so real and relatable. The single mommy blogs and the advice was so spot on! I saw someone mention they wish it didn’t end and I agree wholeheartedly! Jumping into the other ones (after I finish what I was supposed to be reading)
This author is fabulous. She tells such a complete story. A 23 year old is raising four of her siblings, by herself working two jobs barely making it. And then there's Wolfe, a very wealthy Playboy. It was a hot sweet story. No two heartbreak no breakup No other woman or man it was just a lovely story. Highly recommended it.
good, but a little bit anticlimactic and boring. while i was really intrigued by the charcaters and all of teh things that motivated them to do the things they did, i foudn the plot not to be super entertaining, and weirdly enough, for the whole 'he owns a sex club' thing to not be explored enough. overall though, super cute, and very sweet.
