Twisted Love Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he can't escape.
Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart.
But when he's forced to look after his best friend's sister, he starts to feel something in his chest. A crack. A melt.
Twisted Games Stoic, broody and arrogant, elite bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: protect his clients at all costs and do not become emotionally involved. Ever.
He has never once been tempted to break those rules . . . until her.
Bridget von Ascheberg. A princess with a stubborn streak that matches his own and a hidden fire that reduces his rules to ash.
Twisted Hate Gorgeous, cocky, and fast on his way to becoming a hotshot doctor, Josh Chen has never met a woman he couldn't charm - except for Jules f**king Ambrose.
The beautiful redhead has been a thorn in his side since they met, but she also consumes his thoughts in a way no woman ever has.
When their animosity explodes into one unforgettable night, he proposes a solution that'll get her out of his system once and for all: an enemies with benefits arrangement with simple rules.
Twisted Lies Charming, deadly and smart enough to hide it, Christian Harper is a monster dressed in the perfectly tailored suits of a gentleman.
He has little use for morals and even less use for love, but he can't deny the strange pull he feels toward the woman living just one floor below him.
She's the object of his darkest desires, the only puzzle he can't solve. And when the opportunity to get closer to her arises, he breaks his own rules to offer her a deal she can't refuse.

I honestly have very mixed feelings about this series:
The 1st book was good ig, I just didn't like how quickly they got together, I feel like I would've enjoyed it more if the relationship was more developed. There wasn't really much personality to the characters, I feel like Alex was just the classic grumpy, doesn't like anyone kind of guy and Ava was kind of bland for me like I mean other than her dramatic past there wasn't much else to her. The smut was honestly rlly weird and it kind of disgusted me I just hate it when guys call the girls sluts during smut like why they gotta do that? Ava and Alex are my 2nd fav couple out of this series, but I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop more as the side characters in the other books.
Same with the 2nd book, it was kind of fast, I feel like people say its a slow-burn cuz its like over a couple of years but I wish instead of all the time jumps, we could see more of the anticipation, the angst and the tension building I feel like that would've made it much better. I didn't really like Rhys that much tbh like he was kind of boring, but like when he was with Bridget he was very whipped. They had a lot of cute moments together tho which I rlly liked and I loved how Bridget proves the sexist parliament guy wrong. Once again the smut in this series was kind of weird like one of the things Rhys says is "Remember in public you're my princess but in private you're my whore" and I just don't get why the guy's in this series gotta call the fmcs "thier" sluts or whores just whyyy, but other than that I liked the book I'm just not that big of a smut reader.
I absolutely hated the 3rd book tbh, it was very disappointing I was very excited to read about Jules and Josh's story but I hated them together like Jules was a bad bitch and she was better on her own like I absolutely hated Josh, he pissed me off especially after that one scene in chapter 46 😭 I can never forgive him for what he did. He didn't apologise or grovel enuf, Jules should've never taken him back. I absolutely HATED the smut sm like I couldn't even read it I just skipped it, I honestly just found it so disgusting. This was my definitely my least fav of the series.
The 4th book however was the best of the series. I honestly loved it sm. Everything about it was rlly good, I liked how this wasn't fast-paced like the other books, it was more of a slow-burn. The love interest (Christian) is my fav out of all of them he is morally grey but like in a good way? He even washed her hair for her and this was like before anything even happened between them. There were a lot of cute fluff moments which I loved, and the smut wasn't as weird as the others. I loved Christian and Stella together, they are definitely my favourite couple. The only part I didn;t like was the unveiling of the stalker, I just feel like it was underwhelming and anti-climactic, but it was still a pretty good book. I lovedd the epilogue, Alex calling his daughter 'Little Sunshine' fullfilled my heart. I feel like the epilogue was a very nice way to wrap up the series.
I will rate the couples and characters from best to worst.
COUPLES:
CHRISTIAN AND STELLA— 3.5-stars couple.
(Chemistry surpassed all the others by miles. It's the undeniable truth.)
ALEX AND AVA — 1.8-stars couple.
(Mostly because Alex's appearances in the other books improved on his character immensely. Funny enough, I don't even remember him in his own book.)
RHYS AND BRIDGET — 1.3-stars couple.
(Mediocre chemistry, and too much was going in the story, and it all overshadowed this couple's love story. Ana Huang also didn't deliver well on them from beginning to end.)
JULES AND JOSH — 1.1-stars couple.
(It pains me, because enemies to lovers is my most fav trope, and Ana had a good momentum brewing with them at the beginning of their story. The scene at the bar? Chefs' kiss. But that momentum came crashing down because Ana Huang didn't know how to keep building it up. The chemistry evaporated into thin air...)
CHARACTERS:
Christian Harper — 4.3 stars for our best Twisted hero. We love a man obsessed, who does what he says he's gonna do, and supports his girlfriend's endeavors, and avenges assholes who assault her.
Alex Volkov — 2.5 stars because this dude was memorable in the books following his own...
Rhys Larson 2.0 stars. No comment, cause I literally have no feelings about this man. There were some vibes, but that's it.
Josh 1.5 stars. Because he was a disappointment and he couldn't spell GROVEL to save his life.
Stella 4.0 stars. Best girl award. Loved when she stood up for herself against her family and when she broke up with Christian. Ana Huang made her a little inconsistent in the middle of the book, but that's not our girl's fault! Blame Ana Huang.
We also love Stella because we love a girlboss with a passion for fashion.
Ava, Jules, Bridget — 1.2 stars.
Don't know what to tell you. These girls made no impression on me.
But my girl Jules did make me sad a little bit when she took back Josh so fast after what he said to her.
We love groveling, but Jules said "No, I will take him back, I don't need him to respect me!"
I am actually baffled by this being such a trending read.. 4.4 star average?? You’re actually joking. I only read twisted love and I literally can’t bring myself to read any of the others. Worst read of the year I’m calling it early.
(1 star to the book)- The writing was horrible. The plot was too plain. Boring. (1.5 star to them)- Only because of Alex's consistent efforts in the last part. And hello? WTH was that singing thing? Like- how can you forgive someone just because they got the courage to sing in front of everyone???!!! ILLOGICAL!
(3.5 stars to the book)- Nice plot. Loved it! (4.5 stars to them)- Rhys is a 'green forest'!!! And the only green flag guy in the series! They didn't break apart because of any fault in them but because of national reasons:)
(2.5 stars to the book)- I loved Jules' sassiness and her courage!! (3 stars to them)- I hate their morality. Idk how they even did that in the beginning! As a couple as a whole, I'd say- they were going good! Until that part when Josh said, "Get Out!" I cried rivers of tears then! Nonetheless, I love Jules!!!
I’m going to talk about how this series is a literal fucking abomination to women. I’ve rated these books before and that was before i’ve learned abt women in society and how truly fucked we are about men.
This whole series is a mocking statement to women and what angers me more is that A WOMAN wrote it.
There are so many issues with these books and the fact they are being promoted actually angers me.
For example here are the issues with Twisted Hate: - Josh literally sexualises Jules by calling her Jessica Rabbit, meaning this book is conforming to the stereotype of women being sexualised by men. - Josh shags her and then says I lied. He used her for sex. - There was NO grovelling whatsoever. Jules let him back into her life in a heartbeat, which conforms to the stereotypes that women are easy, men shouldn’t grovel, women need men. and the excuses people use for his actions are ridiculous “she stole from him” yeah because she was running from her past which was not his business.
What makes it worse is the fact Ana in no way a feminist because if she was she wouldn’t promote this monstrosity of work.
The fact she made videos on her tiktok saying “well it’s my books i don’t care and if you don’t like men degrading women you shouldn’t read it” but WHY ARE YOU WRITING IT?!
It’s so fucking disappointing reading books written by women who are conforming to society’s negative female stereotypes.
Honestly this series is fucking disgusting and it’s a shame that people don’t realise that.
Twisted Love ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶🌶🌶 Grumpy X Sunshine, Brother’s Best Friend
I loved Alex and Ava’s relationship. It was so fun to see Alex slowly fall in love with Ava throughout the book. The groveling was the perfect amount. Everything was just 🤌 chef’s kiss. May have been the shortest book in the series, but it was a good one.
Twisted Games ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶🌶🌶 Princess X Bodyguard, Forbidden Love
The romance aspects were cute but my favorite part had to be Bridget being such a powerful woman. I loved how Rhys never once tried to hold her back from anything she wanted to do and always supported her. I loved Rhys, he seems like such a sweetheart behind the tough bodyguard personality he has.
Twisted Hate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶 Enemies to Lovers, Sister’s Best Friend, One Bed Trope
Can I just say, I was never a big fan of enemies to lovers and yet, this was my favorite book of the series? Josh has to be my favorite out of all the twisted men just because he has such a bright outgoing personality (contrast to the tough, rough ones like Alex and Rhys). Jules and Josh are such a power couple, a lawyer and a doctor? Their paychecks must look so nice. Anyways. I loved their dynamic, but I do feel like the enemies part of their relationship was short lived because they jumped to an enemies with benefits so fast. Also, the dates Josh planned for her? Literally my DREAM.
I expected the series to end with a BANG. Was a little disappointed with this one. Was definitely a slow burn for sure, 300 pages in and they only kissed like thrice. Christian’s character disappointed me the most. It felt like another Alex but he didn’t do anything that impressed me. +I feel like he didn't really stick to his nickname with his girl as much as the others did
Overall, this series was a joy to read. I loved the character dynamics, the romance plots, and the empowering women there were. I wish there was more variety (?) when it comes to the personalities of the guys. Everyone except for Josh (and Rhys sometimes) was a “tough and broody” guy. They were all really dominant and possessive (personally i don’t like possessive guys, but if that rows your boat, this is a good series for that). I do wish one of guys weren’t dominant just so it was something different, but even then, the books were enjoyable.
I started this series upon the recommendation of a dear friend of mine and also it's the first romantic series i've read🙈 i found the pilot of the four books very nice, it was very nice to see my favorite couples again and again in the sequel books!!
I’ll write my thoughts about the four books separately!
1) Twisted Love ( 3.5 ⭐️ ) ~ Yeah there are scenes that i find beautiful and ofc scenes that i find cringe🥹 One of the cringe scenes is the scene where Alex sings while trying to get Ava back😂 sorry but this scene is not compatible with the Alex character in my mind🥹 But among the things i loved, definitely the attraction between Alex and Ava… it was perfectttt!!!!!!!
~ Even though i found Alex to be very cringe in his own book, he progressed to become my favorite male character in the sequels😂🥰 In the sequel books, we see the development characteristics of Alex and since he is very fond of Ava, he got plus points from me!!!!!
2) Twisted Games ( 5 ⭐️ )
~ It was definitely the book i enjoyed reading the most! Rhys and Bridget are a couple that fits together like a pot and lid😍
~There were no scenes that i thought were cringe while reading this book! Really!!! The love between a princess and her bodyguard is so entertaining and so romantically handled!!!! I start to smile to myself when i think about it😂🙈
~ Moreover Rhys Larsen is the only Twisted man who doesn’t upset the woman he loves and is loyal to the woman he loves from the beginning!!! He was always honest with Bridget🤩
3) Twisted Hate ( 4.5 ⭐️ )
~ I really love the Enemy to Love trop and Josh and Jules are a seriously fun couple! There were many times when i laughed while reading the two's exchanges😂😂😂
~ Another reason i loved this book was because i could relate so much to real life relationships… i really felt like Josh Chen was written like a different version of real life men. In real life, the person you love wouldn't think kill your family or go and kill people for you but he might lie like Josh Chen...
~ The only thing i was angry about was that after the severe traumatic event that Josh did to Jules, Jules very easily forgave Josh!!!
~ It was a book that i had fun reading and laughed out loud😆
4) Twisted Lies ( 4 ⭐️ )
~ While many people loved the fourth book, i actually got a little bored while reading it... I love slow burn but this book is too long slow burn…
~ The enjoyable and exciting part was the process of finding the secret pervert who was after Stella!!!
~ Yeah, Christian's devotion to Stella was reaallyyy nice but i never found it right that he violated Stella's boundaries without permission. While Stella is afraid of the pervert after her, the fact that another pervert is Christian is a trauma for Stella!!!
~ But the moment the fake love turned into reality, i forgot all the boring scenes i read and overall i liked the book!🤗
Soooo for me; 1) Twisted Games 2) Twisted Hate 3) Twisted Lies 4) Twisted Love

I only read the first and the last book since they can be read as standalone. I thought maybe they get better so I went directly to the last book to see if it’s any good, spoiler alert: it’s not. This was the worst peace of writing i’ve ever read. You would ask “why even read another book of the series?” Well, there’s this dumb ass part of me that keeps in believing the “booktok” community, my bad. Plus, all the hype this series is getting, unbelievable. Tell me why someone would like reading this and even give it five stars? Is it because of the perfect, very predictable, cheesy, unoriginal, very bad, happy ending? Or is it because of the plot that I see no trace of? The characters? No way in hell would someone convince to like one of the males, females? Even worse. Girls chasing their dreams and magically falling for filthy rich, supporting, supposedly “morally grey” guys with mommy issues . Yk what I should stop writing this review cuz am feeling irritated. (One thing I agree with Stella tho is that yoga actually helps release stress and that’s what am planning to do now)
I don’t want to get into too much detail for each book but I liked the second book the most probably because Bridget rlly said “fuck the patriarchy”. The first book was ayt I only liked it because he resigned from his company to get her back and maybe bc the whole brothers best friend trope gets to me. The third book wasn’t it honestly, especially THAT scene when he fucks her and is just like “nah I don’t forgive you” and then after a while they get back together because she was in danger like girll did you suddenly forget what he did ?? The last book was great too! I liked that it wasn’t rushed and the tension between them was built, also his nickname for her is probably my favorite among them all. The ending was also satisfying and I’m glad she got to do what she always wanted!!
All in all, I’d recommend it to some people maybe not to all though.

Twisted Love 4.5/5 Twisted Game 5/5 Twisted Hate 3.5/5 Twisted Lies 5/5
Twisted Games and Twisted Lies both are 5/5 but Twisted Lies is my favorite, it was just perfect. So much better than the other three books. Twisted Games came close but not that much. Christian and Stella had more of an emotional connection than the lust filled one that was there in the other three books. I can't describe how much I loved Twisted Lies.
My least favorite was Twisted Hate. It was just... Not it. No. Just. No.
𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐄 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐒 𝐈 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐑:
1st: Christian Harper (this man, omg!) 2nd: Rhys Larsen 3rd: Alex Volkov 4th: Josh Chen (to me, he was like a try hard guy... :)
I couldn’t finish these books, stopped mid twisted games. This author writes like a 14 year old who just discovered wattpad. I’m actually upset at how badly it is written. Characters are bland and boring, no chemistry at all
Felt so misogynistic the way he thinks about her. He barely takes her seriously, bro she is like 24 or something, she can make her own decisions. He treats her like a child, idc that you met her when she was a child, you guys are literally together. Bit pedophilic if you ask me, just no. And wtf was that ending. He starts stalking her and the author is just like romanticizing it. It ended for me when he started singing in front of everyone, omg please feel ashamed because I am. Actually considered reading the others but that shit made me stop thinking that real quick. (Ps. I had to review the first one on this because I can’t with that shit cover, at least this is socially acceptable to read in public. Ok bye)

i really loved the characters in these books, but they do follow a similar theme in each one, despite the plots being different. so, it can get kinda repetitive seeing the same cycle of events occurring but overall they were good!!
going to try and rank them but this is INSANELY difficult because i love all of them so much but anyways,
couples ranking: - bridget and rhys - christian and stella - josh and jules - alex and ava
(Review from 2 WL staff members who read the whole series) "Twisted" is a BookTok-famous romance series that follows the lives of four friends in their 20s. Each book is about a different friend and although the descriptions state they can be read as stand-alones, we personally recommend reading them in order to understand the references. This series is definitely not a "realistic" wholesome romance - if you can't accept that a 20-something law student can afford a luxury home in downtown DC or that a princess from a country (that doesn't actually exist) goes to a college in Maryland, these are probably not the books for you. Our "best to worst" rating for these books is as follows: 1. Twisted Games (Book 2) 2. Twisted Lies (Book 4) 3. Twisted Love (Book 1) 4. Twisted Hate (Book 3) If you're not a fan of book 1, definitely stick it out because book 2 is worth it! Recommend this series for fans of Lauren Asher, Elle Kennedy, Sara Cate, etc.
4/5 ⭐️ wow!!!! This was my first time reading any book with spice and I am now a changed reader! Each book was a uniquely different story which I liked. With this genre it's easy to have dull or repetitive plots but this series did really well with keeping it as unique as possible. I appreciate the TW at the beginning of each book.
