As the students at school become more rude and rowdy, their hands turn into hooves and their noses turn into snouts! Tthe Pig Lady is called in and recognizes the problem. With her help, the children begin to recall and recite proper manners.
Manners are like magic and like the books says , " treat each other with respect and be respected in return." Life lessons in a way that little ones can understand and have fun reading. A great little laugh with every turn of the page.
It’s important to be polite and mind your manners so you don’t turn into a pig. Literally. Be nice, open the door, share, walk in a line, listen. The rhymes are seriously forced tho which made it awkward to read out loud.
The message of this book is good, but the illustrations are... strange. It worries me within my collection when I have so few depictions of people of color to have them illustrated in this way.
We loved it! My daughter recognized some of the "piggy behaviors" as things that she does on occasion. Whenever she starts behaving in that way, we joke about growing tails or snouts - then we find a way to change the behavior. I really liked the specific examples for resolving conflict in the book.
Well, this is certainly a different take on "swine flu." When Ms. Hubbub's class forgets their manners and acts up, they turn into pigs! It takes the intervention of a pig specialist to re-teach the children their manners. Lots of fun rhymes and vividly-colored illustrations help make this a fun read, and a good one to remind children how to behave and treat each other.
all the children turn into piggies when they are rude/lose their manners. a bit scary. the girls weren't as freaked out as me. kinda funny to them but def not for story time.
Cute, and very useful. A fun story, with nice rhymes and rhythm, and teaches good manners. And why we want good manners. I appreciate that more pages are devoted to the good manners than the bad.
