I read There I Find Hope( Strawberry Sands Book 6) by Jessie Gussman on Kindle Unlimited. This book had me feeling all the emotions. To lose a child, I don't think there is anything worse. Jessie Gussman told this story with such a loving heart that allowed the reader to walk the through what Sunday was going through. This series is a much read.
This book is poignant, insightful and inspiring. It is a story of profound loss, the throes of grief, and finding a reason to keep moving forward in life. After the loss of her son, Sunday struggles to deal with her grief and to find a reason to keep living. Her feelings of guilt and unimaginable sadness are accompanied by questioning her faith. This begins to change once she starts to receive letters from an anonymous friend. The letters are heartfelt and are a source hope for Sunday, drawing her out of her grief and helping her to find a new path forward. She feels a connection with her letter writer and begins to hope for a chance to meet her him in person. At the same time, an old school friend, Noah, has returned to town and has reached out to assure her and her mother that the hotel he and his partner are building is meant to complement the town not compete with the businesses already established there. The renewal of their friendship means a lot to Sunday, and so does the person who has been writing her those wonderful letters. She has no idea that they are one and the same.
Noah and Sunday went to school together and he once hoped they would become a couple. He still cares for her after all these years and the loss of her child has spurred him to reach out to her. His first letter is meant to offer his sympathy, to show her that someone cares about her and her situation without burdening her with the need to thank him or seek him out. When she writes him back and begins to pour out her feelings, he is grateful and happy to be able to keep in contact and encourage her through the healing process. His return to Strawberry Sands was part of his plan before the letter writing began, but now he begins to hope reconnecting with Sunday and perhaps building a relationship with her is part of his future in his home town. He keeps writing to Sunday anonymously, but also enjoys the opportunities he has been given to meet with her personally as a friend from her teenage years. Her letters say she wants to meet the anonymous businessman. Will she be disappointed to discover that Noah is the businessman who has been writing to her?
This book spoke to my heart and gave me many thoughts to ponder and inspire me. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
There I Find Hope takes us back to Strawberry Sands and the author deals with a very sensitive subject in the loss of an only child of a single mom. Sunday had divorced her cheating husband and came back to live in Strawberry Sands to raise Blake with her family surrounding her. The story tells of her coping with the loss, and an old school friend. Noah coming back to pay his respects at the funeral but turned out he had to pull Sunday off her mean mouth cheating husband. Noah moved to Strawberry Sands as that is where he was raised and was building a hotel to help bring tourist to Strawberry Sands with his partner Franklin that also grew up there. Noah had a big crush on Sunday in high school but she fell for Glenn when he came to their school to discuss job options. She married him and was living to regret it, except for Blake.
Noah starts sending Sunday letters to tell her about how proud he was of her turning to the Lord for her new existence. But he signs it Business Boy. She returns his letters and signs them Lake Lover. As Noah and Sunday start to spend some time together, Noah feels he has always wanted no one but Sunday. He is hoping this time he can become more than friends with her. And when the town's dog sends Sunday into Matt's pasture and finds a mare stuck in labor and then Noah comes as the dog stops him too they stay around and help Matt deliver the foal. When they find out that the mare passed, Sunday and Noah starts feeding her and spending time together. This goal heals Sunday more than anything else could. Being with Noah becomes so satisfying that she starts to think of the future once again. But can she feel more than friends to Noah as Business Boy says all the right things and she asks him to meet her at the diner?
This is such a moving series and every book contains such wonderful spiritual insights that cause you to think and many times give you encouragement if you are going through problems.

That's when the letters starting coming from Business Boy that encourage her and gives her a way to vent how she is feeling as she responds to the letters.

I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.
As with each book that I've read in Strawberry Sands, "There I Find Hope" draws the reader in from the very beginning. This time the story starts on a rather somber note where Sunday, a single mother, is at her young son's funeral, feeling overwhelmingly sad, hopeless, guilty, and so much more. Fortunately, the story doesn't stay there very long but is the basis of a relationship between Sunday and a mysterious pen pal who sends her anonymous letters to encourage and cheer her up. Noah, a friend from high school is back in Strawberry Sands. He's always had a crush on Sunday and feels drawn to this hurting mother whose lost her only child, so he begins the pen pal relationship with her. He has many hopes and dreams and wonders if God will answer any of them. Can his life in nearby Chicago include Sunday? All he can do is hope, because there's no point to life without hope. Can Sunday create a new normal for herself without her son? When the anonymous pen pal's identity is revealed, how will Sunday react? A beautiful story and heartwarming clean romance with a HEA. I highly recommend "There I Find Hope" as well as the entire Strawberry Sands series! And I also learned several interesting facts about horses! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have given my honest opinion in this review.
Where do you find hope when your world shatters? When everything you’ve been living for suddenly is gone, how do you move forward? That’s the question this story explores. Sunday Laundry had been married and had worked to make it a success but after a few years her husband, Glenn, seemed to lose interest. She tried harder but nothing worked. Then she found out about Diana, suddenly everything made sense. Now a divorce and a few years later, she has lost her son from that marriage in a freak accident. After the divorce he had become her world. Now it felt like everything was gone. People gathered around to give support, but no one seemed to really understand. Then after the funeral an unsigned letter appears and the writer seems to understand, really understand. Soon letters are being exchanged regularly. But what will happen when Sunday discovers that the author of those letters is her high school boyfriend, Noah, who she broke with to marry Glenn? Especially, when Noah also has been providing support openly, A thoughtful read. Please note this book is a Christian themed novel and has doctrinal discussion. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.
This is a clean friends-to-more romance with strong Christian beliefs shared between Noah and Sunday.
There is a lot of sadness at the beginning of There I Find Hope. It starts with a funeral and deals with the grief of losing a child. The author did an excellent job writing about Sunday's grief and depression. Once Sunday realizes, with help from Noah and anonymous letters from Business Boy, that we are God's children and He has plans for us, her grief slowly eases. The Christian/Biblical aspect of this wonderful story is hard for me to describe because I don't know the Bible as well as I should. However this book taught me a lot and I'm sure I will read it again.
In spite of the sad beginning the relationship between Sunday and Noah progresses, partly with the help of their letters, to a great happy-ever-after.
I started reading this story with tears in my eyes and finished it with joy in my heart. Such a sweet story.
I was given an ARC of this story from the author but this review is my honest opinion given voluntarily
What a wonderfully powerful book Jessie Gussman has written. She tackles the very serious issue of grief from the loss of a child and yet handles it so delicately and purely that even those of us who have gone through similar things find hope within her words. As always Jesse teaches us through her writing that God is who we must rely on. God is to be our number one. He is our Hope.
The story of Sunday and finding love again with Noah is so sweet, like a warm blanket for my soul. I don’t know how Jessie does it but she creates such wonderful, real characters that make you feel like you live in Strawberry Sands and know them. This story takes us from the darkest depth of grief to the brightness of living in God’s love. Wow. Never does she minimize what Sunday is going through. This book in addition to being romantic and entertaining could be a manual for people wondering what to say to people who are grieving. The book is a terrific read.
Wonderful story of love conquering tragedy. Sunday had a failed marriage and moved back to her hometown. Then tragedy hit her with the loss of her son. Noah is ready to settle down back in his hometown. He and his business partner decide to build a hotel in his hometown. When Noah hears of the death of Sunday's son, he must try and help her. What started out as a sweet gesture with a hand written note to Sunday, turned into a lifeline for her. Noah had loved Sunday back in school, but all she saw in Noah was a good friend. I loved the connection Noah made with Sunday, as if they had never been apart. I stayed up to finish reading, it was that good. If you like clean heartwarming stories of second chances, I highly recommend 'There I Find Hope'. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.
This is another wonderful addition to the Strawberry Sands Beach romance series.
Noah had a crush on Sunday in school. They were good friends until she met Glenn and left Strawberry Sands. Now, she is back in Strawberry Sands as a divorcee and a major loss that is controlling her life. Noah is a kind person who supports Sunday without expectation. I love his character and how he just is there providing whatever support she needs to become strong again and overcome the overwhelming grief and loss that she has experienced. There is a happy ending to this story which I thoroughly enjoyed.
This story is based on Christian beliefs in life after death, healing and love through Christ and supporting one another when they are in need.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

Noah wants to be a friend to Sunday again, but he’s not sure how or if she will be receptive to it. So, Noah decides to write her anonymous letters and she writes back. Noah gives Sunday ideas and things to think about through the letters, but also through their blooming friendship. Finding hope and purpose in life is all that she needs to start to move forward.
There I Find Hope ~ Strawberry Sands #6 by Jessie Gussman There I Find Hope is a series that I have been following and reading from the very beginning and I enjoyed every story in it. This one is quite emotional and heartwarming which brought a community to life, the adorable story series is really good and you feel the connection. Each story is about a different member of the town, together with previous characters coming into this story. If you’re looking for a sweet clean romance, then these are definitely the books for you. I can’t wait for the next books to be released. This story is Summer and Noah's story which has a very sad start, will Summer get her HEA? I highly recommend this book to all, thank you, Jessie, for this brilliant story.
Having lost a 2 1/2 year old daughter 52 years ago, I could relate to those feelings of not being able to face another day. I also know how much easier it is to open up to a stranger, or in this case an unknown person, about your struggles because as a Christian we don't want others to know that we might be questioning God and His reasons. I wouldn't allow myself to cry in front of others because I didn't want them to think I was angry at God. I was a pretty new Christian at the time and did not know that even Jesus wept. The letters were so perfect. I fell in love with Noah right then and there. Such a good telling of a tragic event. I do recommend it to all who love really GREAT Christian fiction with a hint of true running through every word.
Love For The Broken Hearted Of all of the pain we can suffer in life, the death of a young child must be at the top of the stack. That is the central issue of this book. If this triggers you, beware. But, if you have suffered this loss, you might find healing in this book. Our favorite author has used this painful theme to explain why God gives us this pain and how His love mitigates it. I found it very helpful and it has been 29 years since my son died. I don't know that I learned anything new, but it was all phrased much better than what rattles around in my heart. This drama leads the way to a very sweet love story and a very cool ending. This is another masterpiece of sweet and clean romance wrapped with plenty of God's love.
From personal experience (sadly, two times) I can say Jessie Gussman has done an incredible job of portraying the emotions and pathos one goes through in the loss of a child.
Oh, I could feel Sunday's sorrow as she went through the tragic journey in the days following.
Then I could see hope as God uses her tragedy to bring blessings from sorrows.
Still not convinced? I deeply encourage you to read There I Find Hope.
Devour it. Though a work of fiction, truth is punctuated on each page. I know. I've been there twice.
You will find Hope in what seems to be devastation.
another exceptional read from this very talented author. Sunday faces utter destruction after the loss of her marriage and now the loss of her son. How will she come back from such despair? Enter Noah from her past in school. Little did she realize the attraction he had for her until later, when he comes back to Strawberry Beach for business. This is a very emotional and moving story, one you will have a hard time putting down. I shed a good many tears as a result of the deep feelings melded into the words of the text. Immerse yourself in this story and you will soon be a follower of the Strawberry Beach series.
Sunday Landry felt hollow. Her life was over. Her son was gone. What could God's plan be in the face of such overwhelming grief?
Noah lost Sunday to Glen in high school. Now that he has returned to Strawberry Sands, he has another chance but will her broken heart ever be ready to love again? There are no words he can say to comfort her but perhaps a letter from an anonymous “friend” can let her know someone cares.
Sunday’s grief was palpable. I wasn’t sure how the reveal of the letter writer would work out since there could be no future for a relationship founded on a lie. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
Sunday's worse nightmare - her son drowned in front of her and there was nothing she could do. Her grief was overwhelming and the lack of support - blame really - from her ex-husband made things so much worse. Noah wants to help but doesn't know how and writes to her and this correspondence plus support from her family pulls her (if reluctantly) back into the real world. I really appreciated how sensitively the loss of a child was treated and that is wasn't a quick recovery. Despite the sad theme, this was still a good read and we are reminded that even when the worst happens, God is still there. I received an ARC but this review is my own.
Heartwarming story in the series by Jessie Gussman. Sunday’s young son drown while they were walking on the beach. How could a loving God allow that to happen? Noah and Sunday were friends in high school and he’d had a crush on her. She married a much older man but then he cheated and they were divorced. After the funeral Noah sent her a letter but didn’t sign his name. He just wanted to be a comfort to her. They begin their new friendship through the letters they exchange. Can Noah help her to heal so she can feel able to love again? *I received this book as an ARC reader and am leaving my unbiased review.
I loved this romance between Sunday and Noah. Their relationship started with friendship and anonymous letters that Noah wrote to Sunday after her son's funeral. The characters are lovable. Jessie Gussman has a way of writing about a tragedy and letting joy come from seeking God's plan. I especially liked the way that Sunday was able to save a foal by delivering it and then feeding it after its Mother died. I highly recommend this book as a clean Christian romance to read and listen to the audiobook on YouTube by a great narrator. I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Sunday Landry suffers a great loss and just about gives up on life. Noah Emery has just moved back to town in time to hear about her loss. Noah had a crush on Sunday in high school and still cares about her. He wants to help her get through her grief but is not sure how. He starts writing her anonymous letters about faith, struggles and God's strength. Sunday starts looking forward to the letters and starts returning back to life. This book covers grief in a straight forward way while reminding us God always has a plan even if we don't agree with it or understand it. I hurt to see Sunday struggle but I loved seeing the help she got from friends and her faith.
This is another wonderful book in the series; however, it may be hard for some to read. It deals with the death of a child. I don't know how a parent gets through that, but I know that they do...with God's help. That's how Sunday can function after losing her son, and she has a strong support system. I loved how Noah wrote letters to Sunday because it's definitely easier expressing how you feel when you are writing rather than facing someone. Noah was such a strong man and helped Sunday through her grief. Once again, the strong Christian message resonated with me, and I feel like I am growing in Christ as I read this series.
Jessie's books are edifying. I would say they are also light reads, but she does tackle difficult topics. Bad things happen to the characters or because of their choices, but there is redemption, grace, and forgiveness. She weaves in truths about how we should leave as Christians, which serve as reminders as I listen along.
I've listened to her books on YouTube, "Say With Jay." He's a great narrator, even for the women's voices. It's the type of book that you can listen to while doing something else. Any can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend starting the series in order as several connect characters and places.
Despite the fact that this book's beginning was really sad, I believe it will be extremely helpful for those who are grieving. Since their school days, Noah has been in love with Sunday, and he still is. I appreciate how he allows her space to process her loss while keeping God's greatness front and center. Amazing counsel abounds in this book, which also has a great deal of empathy. I appreciate how all of Jessie's books constantly focus around God. Jessie Gussman is such an amazing author. This is a must read. “I received ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.”
This is absolutely a beautiful story, it started with a very tragic, heartbreaking accident. Jessie wove such a beautiful story showing true pain and then how hope and happiness that I felt while reading. I loved the wonderful story of Sunday and Noah. They were high school friends, but he had always had a crush, but Sunday moved away. I loved how they were able to use their faith to regain the friendship they had and move to more. I loved this beautiful, tender story, another great addition to the Strawberry Sands series.
An amazing story about brokenness, love, and new beginnings. Sunday is recovering from divorce and a devastating loss. Noah is the one who has loved her from afar and now he is taking steps to help her heal and hopefully love him. A very touching story about feelings associated with betrayal, loss, and trusting again. Sunday found hope in relationship with God and a man that had loved her for a long time which gave her the courage to start building a new life. R. In a split second Sunday looses her son by drowning! She had already dealt with a divorce and her candy shop was not doing very well! But suddenly she starts getting anonymous letters that were actually helping her cope with her son’s death.
But then in comes Noah who had always had a crush on her but she took off with Glenn what a bad decision. Noah and her were just friends in High School. Could Noah help Sunday through this crisis? I loved the message in this book “Give your life to God”.
I received this ARC from the author for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
'There I Find Hope' was sad. It began with such melancholy. The heartfelt plot was filled with sadness, piety, courage, hope, some mysterious anonymous correspondence, rekindling a friendship, moving on, and love. I especially liked the chapters that were written as letters; they seemed like a unique way to present a storyline. Sunday and Noah, the protagonists, were so sweet together. They emanated chemistry. Overall, I loved the full-hearted narrative. I received a copy for free and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
Of all the books I have read by this author, I believe this is my favorite. The book definitely stands alone, but there are other characters that are seen in previous books in the series.
This book deals with healing after the death of a child. It is sad in places, but the joy of hope overcomes the sadness. Don’t let the topic be off-putting. There is much laughter, joy, and romance in this delightful book. A perfect balance of Christian principles and enjoyable story.
I received a copy of this book from the author. My review is voluntary and unbiased.
