Oh how I wish I had this book when I began my undergrad - or high school - or middle school - any of my own learning. Deena's 'feel good learning' is a heartfelt gift to learners, a place for honouring the wild complexity of each of our lives, and a hope for learners to feel a little freer as they navigate the oh-so-stressful, oh-so-hard, system of education. You can feel Deena's care in each breath of prose. It is accessible. It is kind. It is practical and honest. I found myself texting friends, sharing Deena's knowledge, and screaming from the rooftops the tips and tricks in this book - the tips and tricks we are all 'supposed to know' in school but were never actually taught. Deena lays bare all the how-to's of learning. She unveils the hidden curriculum and makes it learnable. She opens the doors, she turns on the lights. feel good learning is for all of us. I am so grateful it is out there in the world.

As a teacher, nothing is ground breaking but I can see how it could be a simple, functional guide for a struggling student. Then again, a few reminders never hurt an old teacher either.
