Rate this book
The Youngbloods are back with more sinister suspense, dark humor, and romance. Don’t miss the second book in a new serial novella trilogy featuring an unforgettable family of antiheroes.

The Youngbloods are a dysfunctional family from hell—literally. The mafia-like demon family got stranded on Earth during an infernal invasion gone wrong and have spent eons maintaining a fragile peace. But Petra Youngblood has strained the family bonds by breaking a cardinal rule: falling in love with a human. And not just any human: the sacrifice required to keep her family immortal. Even worse, the sacrifice, Killian Irons, is part of the secret society hell-bent on killing her family.

Now Petra’s love affair has thrown the Youngbloods into chaos, creating clashes that pit parent against child and sibling against sibling. Making matters worse, Killian’s secret society has kidnapped the family matriarch, Ora Youngblood. Forced to decide between Killian’s life and her family’s existence, what will Petra choose? And can she trust him not to betray her?

The Youngbloods: Blood Lust
By Gwenda Bond
This is book two in the series, and it has all the Youngbloods fighting and plotting behind each other's backs. They also discover that grandmother has been kidnapped and they need to find her. Nothing goes as planned.

This is the second instalment in the Audible-original series, about a family of demons cursed to toil on Earth for eternity. It’s not all bad: they’re rich elitist snobs who control a lot of money (and people) from the shadows. At the end of Book One (FAMILY DEMONS), in-fighting had Petra Youngblood on the run with a human, with her parents and siblings on her tail.

This one sees the family jet-setting around the world trying to catch Petra, who finds herself defying the demon code and romantically falling for a human: might this moment of weakness be the entire family’s undoing?

In the first book, I said the family was insufferably whiny but the premise was sound and the voice cast is outstanding. The latter two are still accurate, and our characters are less whiny and now mad as…well, Hell. Lots of solid character development and exciting action, plus some intense demon romance and another killer cliffhanger. Makes you overlook some of the fair-to-middling writing just to see how this story unfolds.

This second book was definitely a marked improvement on all levels.

This is the second in The Youngbloods trilogy and continues immediately where Family Demons leaves off.

It's a fun, but predictable plot. While it is a typical enemies to lovers trope, what makes it more interesting is that there is a lot of backstory to the entire demon family.

I have to say that I don't really like Petra or Killian, who are the main love interest. My favorite will always be Katma. And Dogma, can't forget Dogma. I love that in this book, Katma is finally being recognized for her brilliance.

There are also some spicy scenes in this one. Just my personal opinion, but they felt a little bit like filler scenes.

It leaves off with another cliffhanger, so I will be downloading the final book soon.

Novella book 2 of 3 - a fantasy book about demons living on Earth and facing a threat that they're not prepared for. The family of demons is not in the best of relations so it is a mad mix of family drama and scrappy defence against the human led threat. It's silly, mildly amusing and just a good time.

Just as entertaining as the first one. Fast paced, engaging, great narration. Again, not rating this 5 stars because it is a spectacular novel, but for a fun, dark, fantasy novella trilogy it’s great!

Second book in trilogy and was still very entertaining and quick paced.
Enjoyed getting to know each family member better and learning what they are really up to.
Book 3 should be just as good.

The novelty of the first instalment has somewhat worn off. It's still entertaining though and this demon family is over the top.
