It's amazing what one little girl can do. Walk through brimstone and fire. Bring grown men to their knees and make them beg. Hold the answers to questions only men of power know to ask. But it's even more awe-inspiring what a grown woman can do. Not only survive, but thrive while being forged in the depths of hell itself. Mold that fire into a weapon worthy enough to wage wars in her name. If the devil himself can't get the job done, there's only one thing left to do. Send a woman in to clean up his mess. Some secrets aren't meant to be kept. I'll enjoy watching them fall. They expect a King for their kingdom. But I'll show them a Queen with a bloody crown instead.
Tristina Brockway is an enigmatic wordsmith who delves fearlessly into the realms of Dark Romance. Formerly a connoisseur of tequila, she's traded shots for pages, finding solace and inspiration within the world of books.
As a wife and devoted mother, her world revolves around her loving husband and her son, who is truly her universe. When not weaving intricate narratives, she's a dedicated animal lover, sharing her world with two feline companions, Oreo and Trix.
Beneath her dark and twisted sense of humor lies a writer who thrives in the comfort of her pajamas, often preferring their company over bustling crowds.
Embracing chaos as her muse, Tristina Brockway brings a captivating and unconventional perspective to the world of literature.
Secrets Inside Me is book 2 in the Crimson Queens Duet and it was great to jump back into this world with Six, Gio, Kat and Chance. This is Kats story and she reveals secrets about her life to the other three and they are quick to jump in and help her to avenge her family and take back her empire which is rightfully hers.
This was a quick read but full of action, I would have liked this book to be longer but happy we got Kat & Chances HEA.
I have been anticipating this story ever since I read Her Crimson Reign and beggggged Tristina to write more in this world, and I'm so happy she obliged. Kat and Chance were just so good. I love when the MMC falls first, especially for a bad a FMC like Kat. AND WE FINALLY GET BEHIND THE BLACK DOOR!!
Kat got secrets for sure. I absolutely didn't see any of this coming in Six's book, but it's truly so perfect. Her past is so dark and heartbreaking and I loved getting to see how their paths crossed and what it did for each of them. Chance was just perfect for her, her "twin flame". He never held her back or demanded to take care of her when she was clearly capable of taking care of herself, but was always there, knowing exactly what she needed. I just loved them together.
Tristina is so good at these dark novellas. These stories don't have much fluff, just a lot of action, torture and spice and I flipping love it. They're such great quick reads for any dark romance fan. I can't wait to see what comes from her mind next.
Never trust how someone appears from the outside, and never underestimate a woman. Tristina Brockway is back with part two of the Crimson Queens Series and I gobbled this story right up! We got a taste of Kat (FMC) and Chance (MMC) in book one (Her Crimson Reign), but this book is all about the secrets Kat holds and how she plans to act on them. Secrets Inside Me is another quick, yet satisfying read that kept me entertained and ready for more. I am always impressed with how unique and dynamic this author manages to write her characters. I have read all of her books so far, and I can't wait to see what other great stories she has sitting up her sleeves.
Book 2 in The Crimson’s Queen duet. Book 2 gives you a look into Kat’s Life, where you learn she has a huge secret she has been keeping from Six. Talk about a shocker. I loved the twist into seeing into Kat’s history and how far she comes within the story.
I am beyond happy with the ending with Kat and her man Chance. Seeing their relationship develop and grow was everything.
I’m sad to see this duet end. Six, Kat, Gio, and Chance made such an incredible story. Six and Kat are definitely kick-ass girls. Fuck around and find out, you’ll end up dead. Trust me.
As always, check trigger warnings before starting this book.
This is book 2 in the Crimson Queens Duet, I have not read book one but It was easy to just jump in as this is the other couples story. This is a quick and spicy mafia romance that gives you just enough background and plot to keep you satisfied. I enjoyed this for a quick read, Kat the FMC is a strong woman who can handle her own as she fights to take back her families empire as she has to reveal to her friends who she truly is and Chance the MMC is a dominant yet supportive guy that is willing to stand back and watch his woman take back what's her but still take control when he needs to or when she needs him, together they are a great team.
This one was good enough to keep my attention, but it didn't really have much of a plot. One minute, they are dancing, and the next, she is telling them about her hidden identity. It just happened to fast for me. I would have liked seeing her get more revenge on her uncle as well. Also Cock Cave, had me dying.

Received this story as an Arc , The author style in the story was written well ,the story can keep you on edge after ending of each chapter wanting more . I like how the author developed the main characters especially Kat and Chance ,Kat is a strong women and never gives up for what she wants to reach and that by her side is chance who will do anything for her . Author knows how to write a real dark romance 😍 so I give my rating to this story 5 stars the author really deserves it👌❤️
Mafia, murder and love! The story of Kat and Chance made me giddy!! I loved everything about them. Tristina thank you so much for allowing me to read this arc!!
I love Tristina's books, when I read Six's book I just knew I needed to read Kat's story. And what a story it was. I absolutely fell in love with gio, six, chance and kat from book one and was glad to see the author had brought out Kat's story and had the other characters still in it. The book is definitely a whirlwind of emotions, taking you ok a wild rollercoaster ride, that will have you gripping the edge of your seat. And a ride that you will love. The twists and turns you don't see coming at all. It packed with so much action, spice, darkness, revenge and so much more. Once i started I just couldn't stop, I was hooked from the start and it had me on my knees. The relationship between the characters is so beautiful to witness the strong bound they have just wonderful. The author did a fantastic job in portraying these characters , the plot and the storyline. Can't wait to read more from this author.
Kat is out beautiful FMC, she's been through alot in her lifetime. She meets six when she saves her and they have been by each others side since then. They are like sisters. Gio is Six's husband and like a brother to kat. And chance is in love with kat and kat is in love with him. But afraid to let him in to her world of darkness. See our little FMC has secrets no one knows and they are about to come to light. But her friends won't have any of it and stand by her side through it all.
I can't say anything more than that as I don't want to spoil it. You need to read and witness it for yourself. But it's a read you will never forget. if you haven't read book one I whole heartily tell you to do so as it's so worth it and brings little back story.
“On your knees, angel.” Chance orders me. I follow his command and instantly drop to my knees on the padded floor. “Crawl to me.” He demands. Before I know what I’m saying I reply, “Yes, sir.” “Good girl.” He praises, and I instantly feel the relief that floods through my chest, knowing I’ve made him happy."
““She nods, a small smile playing on her lips. “I didn’t think I would find someone who understand, who can take me places I’ve never been before.” I lean in and kiss her softly. “And I didn’t think I would find someone who trust me enough to give up control, to be in this together.””
Tropes – Dark Mafia Romance; Dual POV; M/F Unilever’s; Friends to lovers; Dom/Sub; Revenge
In the second installment of the crimson queens duet we follow Kat’s story. I love that these women are certified bad A’s. Driven into hiding that brings upon a multitude of secrets including her identity. Kat doesn’t just run in and get even. She plays the long game to extract her revenge and take what is her, a game in which she will be the only winner. Once the secrets are out, the true Mafia Queen is ready to take her throne.
I really enjoyed the second book in this series. This is a short read so it may feel a bit rushed, but it is good for in between series or if you’re unsure what to grab next. I love in these novels the men are the ones taking a backseat and letting the women take the lead. They support where they need to and Chance definitely steps up to the plate. It is possible to read this prior to book two but it will give spoilers. I recommend reading book 1 Her Crimson Queen prior to this one.
This is book 2 of the Crimson Queens Duet and I will be honest I actually jumped into Book 2 without reading Book 1, oops. But although this is a duet it easy to read Book 2 without being lost in what is happening, the books are interlinked but different. In saying that I do want to go back and read Book 1.
This is Kat and Chances story and we already know that Kat has hidden secrets. This is a dark story, and is set at a steady pace throughout that the story progressives at a quick pace, although the author is very good at setting the pace so it doesn’t seem we are being thrown into the story and missing key points. This was my first book by Tristina and I was not disappointed. Her characters and story developed and interlinked well together. I loved that their was so much more with Kat and the twists and turns of her character were great. I also loved how Tristina developed the relationship between Kat and Chance he knew exactly what she needed and knew when to stand back and when to give her the domineering alpha that she needed.
Can’ wait to see what else this author has up her sleeve
This is book two in the duet, having not read the first book. I went into this story blind. And what a story it was, because it is not one to be missed. For the strength of a woman should never be underestimated, ever.
This is Kat’s story. It delves into her life, revealing secrets, to better understand who she is as a person, showing her strength and tenacity in the face of adversity as she avenges her family and takes back what is hers. But her past is dark as it is heartbreaking, and when she crosses paths with Chance, it sets her on a path she didn’t expect.
Kat and Chance were inevitable. You could tell they complemented each other well. He became someone to her, never holding her back, letting her be her own person. He knew she was more than capable of taking care of herself, knowing what she needed and when.
This story was a quick read, full of action and spice, and one couldn’t be more than happy with that happily ever after.
Recommend both the author and the book. I am voluntarily leaving a review.
This books seemed more a novella than the duet. The plot built nicely but seemed rushed. I would have loved to have seen more building for Kat and Chance. And their ‘official’ time together was was barely a firecracker. With how Kat loves to submit to Chance, there was soooo much that could have been built from that alone!
I love the freaking plot twist! Kat is actually a mafia princess that was thought dead. Ha! Think again! And a sniper at that!? I was just as surprised as Gio! I loved that Chance surprised Kat by being more than meets the eye, just like her.
I loved that Six and Gio were so very involved in this book. They are the wolf pack! I hope to see these 4 again! Now that 3 of them are the King and Queen’s of their respective mafias, can you imagine the Regin these heirs would have. Ah, a full ass kingdom!

This is the second book in the series, I would recommend starting with the first it helps keep things in line. You are able to read this without reading the first but it helps greatly if you read in order.
But it was a great quick read. Have everything you need in a novella. Kat and Chance are amazing love the two of them together. It is a slow burn it but it is is done perfectly and gives you what you need. Kat is determined to get best is hers and she does not care who stands in her way. Chance is the type of support one needs when they are on a mission. He doesn’t overstep and he is there to support Kat on her mission.
It was a quick read finished in just under two hours. I do recommend this one and I will be reading the first one.
I loved this book and I’m glad I started with book one. Although you don’t have to, you'll have a greater appreciation for Kat and of course, Chance. This is a quick read but like the first book in this series, it lacks nothing. To start off, I did not see that backstory coming, holy damn twist, but it makes sense as to how she fit in so well with Six. I loved how In-depth Tristina went in with her back story, back to her parents, the struggles, the wanting revenge, her loss... her new family found... It was beautiful. I also want to mention I'm so glad we for to see the other secret room... that scene, * chefs kiss *
This book has some spice, suspense, bloodshed, gore, torture, murder.. all the things that make up a fantastic read.
Amazing. This is a very fast paced read with lots of depth and amazing characters. I always love Tristina’s writing style because she has a way of moving the story along while keeping tension, mystery, angst and emotions at the forefront. This story was no different. The characters were A+ and Kat was just kickass. When she revealed her secrets I loved how accepting everyone was and so ready to help her regain her power. Chance was a surprise with his dom attitude and they meshed so well together. If you love books that waste no time getting into the action, you’ll love this read. It is a little lighter on the spice but perfect for the timeframe. Read it!
This is the second book in the crimson Queens Duet. I could not wait to be back in the world of Six, Gio, Kat, and Chance. This book has all of Kat's secrets coming to the surface. She has the best three help to her in the guys as they are always willing to jump in neck deep to help her avenge her family. But most of all to take back the empire that was rightfully hers to begin with. This is such a quick read because it sucks you right back into the story. I loved the characters. How they take care of Kat. She is also a strong female character. I have loved reading this duet and you do not want to miss it.
After losing her family Kat has to go into hiding with her bodyguard. What they thought would be a short period always turned into years. Kat had to become someone completely different to bide her time to get revenge on the one who stole her family from her. Yet, she never imagined to fall for Chance on her road to vengeance.
Chance has always been apart of the mafia family and never batted an eye. Till the fiery red head — Kat. After learning about her past Chance will do anything and everything to help Kat get her revenge.
This was a great follow up to the first in the duet. Once again a really quick novella but highly enjoyable. It was great getting back into the world of the Crimson Queens. I'd been excited to read Kat and Chance's story and it did not disappoint. My favorite thing about this duet is how strong and unique the FMCs were. I like seeing the FMC be in charge in mafia romance instead of the MMC. I'm kind of bummed to have this be the end of this duet but I also feel like this was a perfect completion to the storyline.
This is Kat and Chances story … and a quick one at that. Kat has been Six’s best hud for years but she has secrets of her own. Chance knows he wants her but doesn’t know her secrets.
The past comes to visit… secrets come out … and Chance stakes his claim when he becomes exactly what she needs. Kat is a bad$&&& all her own .. but when she needs to give up control Chance is there and wow is it 🥵.
Their story was a perfect conclusion for the Crimson Queens and the men who rule by their side.

Loved this short little spicy mafia story! We get to see a badass Mafia Queen coming to back her empire back! Kat is a badass who I for sure want in my corner in a fight! But even though I love that she’s a badass, she’s also willing to submit when it comes to Chance and his dominant ways. They’re the perfect yin and yang to each other and I love that they get their happily ever after in the end.
Received this story as an Arc , The author style in the story was written well ,the story can keep you on edge after ending of each chapter wanting more . I loved Her Crimson Reign and couldn’t wait to return to this world with Secrets Inside Me. I loved Kat from the moment we met her and I only fell in love with her even more work this book. This book was dark, spicy, and action packed!
I was not expecting Kat to save so many secrets. Although the title really should have clued me in. She has been through so much and is such a total baddie. I lobe her and Chance together. They were perfect for each other. I love how she trusted him enough to be vulnerable with him.
I do feel like this book could have benefited from another round with an editor. There were a few typos and homophone errors.
But overall I really loved this book and am so sad that the duet is complete.
I read this book without reading the first book in the series. Although I would recommend still doing this, I was able to read with book and not feel to far behind or left out. Kat and Chance seem like to be the ultimate slow burn couple. It started out with them not having a relationship to her asking if he wants to playhouse with her. This was a quick read, I was able to read it in about two hours. Really enjoyed this book.
It was fun getting to see these characters again. At the end of every book I’ve read by this author I always find myself wanting more. Which isn’t a bad complaint to have. I loved getting to see more of Kat and can’t wait to see what comes next for Tristina Brockway. She’s become an instant download for me. 🖤
This was a quick dark follow up to the first story, however this time we get to see more from Kat and Chance's POV! I was actually very excited to learn more about both of these characters however I didn't feel this story fully did them justice. There's a series of twists and turns that left me questioning how Six didn't find out more about her "best friend" since she was the Crimson Queen with all of her resources, but that's neither here nor there. Based on this story alone, this was a good quick read that's sure to make your heart race if you like your story dark and your plot messy ;). This review is my own!
Kat. Miss ma’am. How did I not see that plot twist coming! Such phenomenal writing and story building! The first book of this duet sucked me in, but this second book…completed me. I enjoyed the story of Kat and Chase developing their relationship and all the challenges that come with it!.

Secrets Inside Me by Tristina Brockway As I said a new author for me and this is my second book for her. Kat and Chance story is fantastic. Love the chemistry between them and how we get to see what they are thinking. Get the duets to understand the story.

I love a good mafia book and when you have love and murder it is even better!! I love that the book was too the point. This kept me interested and I could not put it down. Kat and Chance’s story was amazing! She is one tough female but she would submit to Chance. They are a perfect couple!! Loved this book!!
