The Burton family has been reunited, but their home - and their very way of life - has been stolen from them. Outnumbered and outgunned, they must risk everything to take back what is theirs in the final chapter of The End of All Things.
Tired of the usual post-apocalyptic tale? Welcome to your new addiction .
The #1 best-selling and most prolific post-apocalyptic author Mike Kraus brings a new gripping tale of destruction, survival and humanity like no one else can.
On a quiet evening like any other, virtually anything that uses fuel goes up in flames, killing billions in the first twenty-four hours alone. Remnants of governments reel as they try to deal with the destruction of their countries and decimation of their military infrastructure as their cities burn to the ground.
On a quiet beach in South Florida, Alice Burton and her two children have started the family vacation early - all that's left is for James to fly in from a conference in Colorado. When the small beach town they're staying in is consumed by fire, they're forced to seek help on foot - facing dangers both natural and manmade at every turn.
Meanwhile, at the Denver International Airport, James Burton hides beneath an overpass as cars and planes erupt in flame around him. His survival is not guaranteed, as a treacherous journey through the heart of Denver and beyond awaits him if he has any hope of reuniting with his family.
Back home, on their small farm outside East Lansing, Michigan, Alice's parents are house-sitting, and are about to experience the most intense test of their survival and homesteading skills that they could ever imagine.

Excellent conclusion to this very dark series where people have been forced to live on the fringes of society to gain the basic necessities of daily life—food, potable water, showers, a semi-roof over their heads—and of course protect whatever they have from violent roving gangs.
This series was phenomenal. A true test of one’s will to live and not succumb to violence as a way of life. Mike Kraus is a brilliant author. He really makes you think , while he’s telling a phenomenal story. I’m off to read more of his amazing books.
The End of all Things series was excellent. As each book ended I would be downloading the next one immediately, this series seriously impacted my sleep cycle! 😏. This was definitely not my normal type of book to read. But it actually was very sobering as it really makes you think about what the end times means practically for each one of us individually. What will each of us do if things turn like they did in this series? So it was definitely sobering. It was also graphic and gruesome in some areas. Yet definitely necessary for the point of the story. One of my favorite things was some of the humorous conversations, in the middle of a breathtaking and serious scene I would find myself laughing out loud. The only thing that I found curious was when the author went away from the main characters to brand new characters in different areas of the country and world. But in hindsight, I think that was purposeful to show the way other countries and other people could have reacted to what was happening. Honestly? One of the best series I have read in a long long time. I'm sure I'll be rereading!
for another great series! Ok, so I'm partial to stories set in my home state, Michigan, especially when there's a post-apocalypse to get through. These characters resonate as truly believable, and the story line is engrossing because danger just keeps getting in the way of a home reunion. Just when you think it's over, it's not. And just when you think their journeys will be easier, don't count on it! I almost didn't want the series to end, but it had to. Or did it?! There is a hint of continuation or offshoots in the works. We can always count on Mike Kraus to keep the stories coming!
This completes what has generally been a good series. There were a couple of editing issue ("The traveled from Grand Rapids" should be They traveled; there were some missing or misplaced quotations marks). Some of the "other places" vignettes were OK, though not directly related to the story and I found it a bit confusing to have characters named Sandy in two different locations. Red Fletcher was a completely one-dimensional villain with only one outcome, though a Pyrrhic victory for his wife. It did wrap up well and I was glad they made the effort to return the horses to the man who was so helpful to Alice and her kids.
Excellent story. Be prepared for some binge reading as the Burton family struggles to unite and survive in a world !literally blown up. In this conclusion we get a glimpse of other survivors in the U.S. and the family fights to retake their home in the face of overwhelming odds.
Overall this story was good, I enjoyed the storyline, what I didn’t love was the small random extra storylines thrown in, I felt like it was just trying to drag the story out longer to make more books in the series, also didn’t love the complete description’s of EVERYTHING again felt like it was just to make the book series longer
An amazing book once again that will have you gripped. Everywhere there are pipes, there’s an explosion. Fire everywhere, people looking for shelter and their families. You feel as if you’re there with them. Perfectly written.
This book was soooo good! It was worth the wait. Glad I was able to find out what happened to the Burtons and their homestead! Wish there was another book in the making but glad I don’t have to wait for another one at the same time!
This is a really great part to this well written, interesting apocalyptic series! A really good continuation of the storyline, lots of action & adventure as they try to reunite in this unsettled & violent world! A really good read!
A good ending to the series, everything is tied up neatly and positively. Again, would have been nice to have more presidential interludes, rather than the random corners interludes, but overall a great conclusion.
What a wonderful series! I enjoyed it so much I didn’t want it to end! Not only is this series exciting but it wraps it all up in the end. I highly recommend. I will be reading more of Mike Kraus books.
Loved all 6 books in this series. Alice and the kids were my favorites. Believable characters throughout with a heart pounding nail biting plot line. Hard to put down once you start reading it.
Thanks to the authors for taking me on an awesome adventure. Interesting characters, terrific storyline and another take on the coming apocalypse. I'm A firm believer that like Kraus cannot fail in storytelling.
Book 1 left me really disturbed as this could possibly happen. Then I couldn’t stop with 1, I had to continue to see how it all played out. Hopefully the family would have peace in the end and counseling. This would make a great TV series.
To a great series! Karma came knocking. Love the ending and the meeting old friends again. The series is little long but I did enjoy it. Thank you for great read.
