The Gods may think they own the fire soldiers, but they have no idea of the inferno that’s coming.
I was born from Ares with the fire given to him from his one true love. Though the Gods imprisoned him as punishment for loving a woman that wasn’t his, he forged a kingdom from the flames and made his children his soldiers.
Now that Ares is gone, the Gods will stop at nothing to control the Kingdom of Fire and all who inhabit it. But I was created to fight, so, in Ares name I'll avenge his murder and reduce them all to ashes for what they have done to my family.

Xira is a fire soldier, she had been an orphan and a 6th generation begotten from Ares line, and from an eksi she had risen to become his left hand. So when the war between Ares, God of war and Hephaestus God of fire, broke out she was on the frontlines leading her army of fire soldiers. However when she lost her only friend Jaku, and soon after she lost her God Ares she was devastated. But a fire burnt within her, fuelled by the pain and anger she felt towards the pretender who planned on taking over the Empire of Fire, the island to which Ares had been exiled in punishment for stealing Hephaestus' wife Aphrodite. She thought she would stand alone to fight for a free land from the Gods, however a very unlikely ally stood by her. Karim her one time rival and right hand of Ares, became her ally and a slow burn romance develops between them, as they discover they had more in common than they thought, namely a love for their land and their freedom. I really enjoyed reading this first book in a new series where a war between the Gods is as usual fought by humans, though many of these are immortals. I love the romance as it is an enemies to lovers slow burn, as well as the courage and fearlessness of Xira who battles the Gods themselves! I look forward to reading book 2 in the Throne of Gods series.

The war of gods
In a world influenced by ancient Greek mythology, Ares is exiled into a realm where gods can bleed and die. He built a Kingdom of Fire from his descendants, exiled alongside him, but now Hephaestos came to seize vengeance and kill his brother. After successful fratricide, all hell breaks loose in the realm, with factions forming and betrayal blooming everywhere..
Action- and violence-packed story set into the middle of war, enhanced by supernatural abilities and curses. Xira and Karim, the former left and right hands of Ares, form a truce that grows into a different relationship under the circumstances. The whole world building is intriguing and full of wonders despite the ever-present violence, and I also very much enjoyed getting to know the main characters (though I have to admit, they did not exactly look like enemies at the beginning). Let's see what more this world has to offer.

This was such a pleasure to read. It’s a book that has everything.
Action packed, intense at times, tender in others. A true grit tale of Courage and determination to do right.
Following the antics of a female Fire warrior.
It was so good that instead of going to sleep last night I spent another 2 hours till 3 in the morning reading. It’s that good.
200% recommended.
Seriously, it’s awesome, one of the best I have EVER read ( and I’ve read A LOT)

This is an epic fantasy read that once started, you will not be able to put down. A strong female warrior full of bravery and determination to avenge Ares and stand up to the gods in this action filled adventure. It’s exciting, it’s intense and I love the authors take on the Greek mythology as we immerse ourselves in this incredible fantasy world. With a wonderful slow burn enemies to lovers romance, I am eager to see where the author takes us next.

A war with the Gods, with brother against brother, is never going to end well. Xira was right in the mix with soldiers carrying swords, hammers, and many archers overcoming Emperor Ares empire.
Xira and Karim were the right and left hands of Ares, but could they get the battle turned around?
This story was so exciting, the writing prolific and the storytelling daughting. Loved it!

I really got pulled into this book and invested in Xira's story! She is bad$ss and fierce, even against living with her curse everyday. The action and battle scenes are full of detail. I loved this world the author created. I've already grabbed the next book and am looking forward to more!
