A strong woman. A determined man. A secret that changes everything. Lexi is strong and self-reliant. She’s had to be. Lexi is the only person her brothers have left—and she does what she has to, even flirting with the edges of the law, in order to keep her three younger brothers with her. So when Noah crashes into her world—literally—she dismisses him. But he comes back, and she soon finds herself intrigued and caught up in a world of new feelings that she doesn’t quite know what to do with. She keeps her guard up, though, because if Noah finds out her secret, her world will come crashing down. Noah can’t stop himself from falling for Lexi. He admires the way she’s held her family together in the face of severe hardship, and he finds himself wanting to be there for her. But she keeps him at arm’s length, refusing to share everything with him. And that just brings out his cop instinct, making him determined to find out her secret. When the truth comes out, hurt and tempers flare. Will Lexi and Noah be able to work through their issues and build something new? Or will they just become a painful chapter in each other’s lives?
Shaniel Watson is the author of the Imperfections Series. Her first book was published in 2015. She writes stories she likes to read, sultry emotional stories with imperfect characters who eventually get their happy ending. Shaniel lives in New York and is the proud mother of two daughters.
Lexi is doing her best at keeping her family together, with a mother that just shows for money, three younger brothers, her grandfather is in rehab due to a stroke, and bills are piling up faster than she can pay them. Running (literally) into Noah and getting his attention was the last thing Lexi needed, but somehow, he worked himself in, and Lexi found herself falling for a cop. Lexi is hiding a secret from everyone, and Noah is the last person that can find out. Will she be able to keep Noah in the dark or will he find out and their whole relationship blow up in her face?
Anyone watch Shameless? This is along the same plot line; older sister having to struggle to keep everyone together, deadbeat parent coming out of the woodwork when money is owed. I liked Lexi a whole lot more than I liked Fiona though. We are getting really great drama with this story and there is the added benefit of some really nice spicy bits to heat everything up. I enjoyed Lexi and Noah's story and give them 4 stars.
This is the first in a new series, and this is Noah and Lexi’s story. Lexi is strong and resilient, and is bringing up her three younger siblings, as well as looking after her grandfather who is in rehab, and the bills are piling up. Noah is a police officer, and when Lexi literally runs into him, he is intrigued, while the last thing she wants to do is bring attention to herself and reveal her secrets. Noah knows Lexi is hiding something and is determined to find out what it is. This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, secrets, revelations, engaging and realistic characters, drama, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, heartwarming, and steamy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

What would you do for the love of your family? Would you steal? Would you kill? Would you do something against your beliefs? This is the story of Lexi and Noah, and it is a love story. It is a love story between Lexi and Noah and the love these characters have for their families.
Lexi is a strong FMC. She does anything and everything she can to support her younger brothers and her grandfather. Her family comes first. Enter Noah, a man who wants nothing more than to be a part of her and family’s life. Noah is in law enforcement and Lexi knows if her secrets are revealed, he will leave.
I enjoyed this story. I felt the dialogue was realistic and the story was fluid. I stayed invested in every chapter. When the book ended, I wanted more.
Thank you Shaniel Watson and Foreword PR for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC!
This is a shorter story, but still very well written. I love Noah and Lexi's stories. Lexi is 20 years old raising her three younger brothers on her own after her mother abandoned them occasionally returning to wreck havoc on their lives. Noah is older who happens to be Lexi's boss's nephew and coworker's brother. They both have their own family dramas, but unlike Noah, Lexi will do anything to keep her family together including uncomfortable things even for her. Will it be too much and tear them apart or will Noah and Lexi be able to work through some secrets? I wish we will hear more about Noah and Lexi's story!
Something New was a pretty good read. While this is not my favorite genre, the story was intriguing and well written, and the characters were well developed. Something New is the story of Noah and Lexi and is about the lengths one would go for family and love. I loved the strength of both of the main characters and also the strong sense of family throughout the book. I really loved the secondary characters as well, especially Lexi’s siblings! Overall, I would recommend.
I really liked this story. Lexi and Noah were interesting characters. I liked their chemistry. I liked Lexi and her family. I liked the way the author created them. I liked her dialogue and her flow. Everything made sense and I was entertained by it. I received a complimentary copy of this story and I freely left this review.
