Emily Trigger is on a mission with her elite team. The Prodigal Suns are on the hunt for Heka, the ancient marauding god of magic.
But first, they have to find him.
Someone helped Heka escape his long sleep in the Amazon jungles, and the old god wants to make up for lost time. First on his list was getting back some of his power. Next, gather even more power — one innocent victim at a time.
Step number Rebuild his army of mindless, empty, zombies, and what better place to start than with a nearby village of innocent Amazonian locals?
Emily and her fellow soldiers need to stop that from happening, no matter the cost. Turns out, Emily may be the key to everything. Her new powers brought on by the blast of magical ammo in Russia may be just enough to stop the angry god.
Maybe.
That is, if she ever tells anyone about them and learns to harness her powerful, new abilities.
Will her fellow operators grow suspicious enough of her secret to cause a rift among the team?
Or can she open up to the Prodigal Suns she's only just met and learn to trust a unit that might be just as wary of Emily as she is of getting close to anyone?
The Prodigal Suns are piecing together the mystery of what brought Heka back, racing against the clock before he can wreak more havoc than they can clean up. Will they find him in time?
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Emily Trigger is finding it hard to fit in with her new - but temporary, Emily hopes - Team, the Prodigal Suns.
With their new Mission having taken them to the heart of the Amazon, to the Marajoara Tribe, one totally unknown to the World, apart from a very few people.
Emily and her team are doing their best to find out all they can about the Magical Demigod, Heka, whose escape from the magical prison, that the Marajoara Tribe had been holding him in, for century upon century, was something that the Team were supposed to stop, as their new task.
But, when the Team are given a token to use, from the only English-speaking Shaman of the Tribe, Samsu, in order to track Heka down, things go suddenly very wrong, and it's going to take every member of the Prodigal Suns, to find, and imprison once again, the evil Demigod.
Emily will also have to accept, and learn how to use, the extra magic that had started to affect her, after she had been shot by a Russian experimental fighting machine, while on her last, disastrous, Mission with the Bravo Team!
I'm really enjoying getting to know Emily more, plus her new Team members, and can't wait to read what's going to happen next in Book Three: 'Whatever It Takes',.
So, rather than waste any time, I'm off to start reading it now &, once I'm done, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!
Emily and the Sons are still trying to find Heka the God of Magic before he gets to strong, but they are not having much luck. Then they get an unexpected visitor and realize Heka is getting stronger faster than they thought. Great continuation of the original series, I love the characters and their powers. The storyline is very good and I am looking forward to more adventures in this series.
Congratulations to Martha Carr and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such intexresting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
Another great read from Martha and Michael. I must admit I struggled with Emily at first but I’m warming to her as the story progresses. I miss Bravo team, but I’m getting used to the Sun’s. And the story is definitely ramping up, need the next one now!
Now, continuing into the third book. This series all the way from The Warrior Omnibus 1 & 2 to The Warrior 2. This trilogy has kept me entertained from start to finish. I'm going to continue right now.
The elite of the elite. A special unit made up of special "people", those with abilities beyond normal humans. They are in the Amazon to recapture a demigod. A really angry demigod. Even with their special powers, will they manage to prevail?
