The four children of the Apocalypse doesn't really cut it for me...compared to Four Horsemen.

The art of Phil Noto reminded me of his great Hellblazer days..

The story ...4 issues....was a little throwaway...capitalizing on Echos Disney TV series?

I liked the set up and premise for this story, I just think that the ending didn’t really pay off as much as I wanted it to.

This wasn't bad, but considering we got a Ghost Rider/Daredevil team up, I was expecting a little more. It's a story tied in with events from around 200 years ago, when relatives of Daredevil and Echo battled a demon under Hell's Kitchen. The demon shows up again, and Daredevil and Echo have to face it. Demagoblin is involved, and Ghost Rider shows up as well. I like Phil Noto's art, and this was decent just not quite up to the level of recent Daredevil stories.

As Daredevil stories go, this one falls near the lower end as far as importance, character development, etc go. It could almost be the same by substituting some other characters and not make a difference, as the main focus here is on the supernatural threat and the history of same. It’s notable for introducing an ancestor of Matt Murdock who was a Manhattan crime gang member back in 1835, reformed, and became a prominent supporter of his local Catholic Church (only to have his faith betrayed by a corrupted priest).

If you’re a fan of the art of Phil Noto you may want to give this a look, although I don’t think it’s his best work and looks a little rushed and more simplistic than his average illustrations.

This story was fucking metal. 11/10 would recommend. Can’t wait to see the trio of see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil return.

Man this was bad. The dialogue was clunky and often unnecessary, the narrative discourse defied belief, and the story was... I realise the word lazy is a bit loaded so let's say, derivative. The style of the colour/line work was weird - it reminded me of that half-blind guy who did that dinosaur detective comic? Like they were intentionally making it simple and blocky and clean as a theme. The shading was weak, and there were a fair amount of cameos and co-stars for something called Daredevil & Echo without a subtitle.
I have read worse though. The artwork is uninspired and workmanlike, but it seems up to standard for a 'super'hero work. Oh but the old-timey Irish accent is just so terrible. The only way I could think of for this to be a worse experience, without shading into unpublishable territory, would be if I had to read them one at a time.

I may be a little biased - I haven't read much lately and I've been craving something good; not by much though. A star, max.

This is a big drop in writing and storytelling since Chip's run on Daredevil. This story takes place some time after Devil's Reign (not sure if it is before or after The Red Fist).

A bunch of grizzly murders in Hells Kitchen have caught the attention of the Daredevils. Similar murders happened back in 1835. What are the connections between the generations?

The story is all over the place. Random kids with powers are inserted into the story. Ghost Rider was added as another extra.

Also, annoying mistakes, like Echo, is able to have a conversation with Ghost Rider, then two issues/chapters later he has to spell out the words in flame as she can't read his lip less face. Another Echo is again having a conversation with either Daredevil without looking at him.

I would not recommend this book to fans of any of the main characters. The addition of Elektra 100 and the varient covers gallery are the best things about this book.

Phil Noto's artwork is pretty much the only draw here. Otherwise, you have Daredevil and Echo generically teaming up to battle demons or whatever. The plot is so basic as to be utterly forgettable. But it sure looks great!

I read this a year ago, having not read very many daredevil comics. I reread it today having caught up and read all the essentials and now knowing Echo's origins.

I stand by that this is on the lower end of Daredevil comics. I've come to really not love Notos art over the years, and the story is not that engaging. It just feels like a cash grab for the Echo show that isn't that great either. If you want better Daredevil and Echo stories go back to the originals.

Bro goodreads had me so confused like what do you mean a rapper from the Black Eyed Peas wrote this??

The story was alright but ended up too much demons and ancestors that got muddled. Loved seeing Ghost Rider show up but then I feel like they forgot Echo was deaf for a hot second then went "oh shit, right!!" and added it back?? 💀

Art was amazing but my boy Phil Noto never misses and he carried this. Gorgeous colors, gorgeous people.

The design of the goblin was hilarious tho it really felt like a joke halloween costume where it's like character but then SEXY so she was SEXY goblin lol.

This entire mini just felt completely random and the ending was so unsatisfactory. It felt like so many things were wacky as hell for no reason and then not explained. Like never in my wildest dreams did I expect a talking fish to show up.

Most of my rating is because I'm a Phil Noto simp.

Cards on the table, I picked this volume up because I love Phil Noto's art, but the story is surprisingly solid too.

A little less confusing that Taboo and B. Earl's last series for Marvel, Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Daredevil & Echo unites the blind and deaf heroes along with Ghost Rider to deal with the rampaging Demagoblin, picking up on a plot thread from the cancelled Scream series from a few years back and tying that up quite neatly. It's a story about the power of faith and being beholden to your ancestors, and yes, the art is very nice too.

Not essential reading by any means, but much better than I expected.

3.5 Stars.
With both Daredevil and Echo making waves in the MCU, we had to expect them to show up more in comic form, which is what we get here. Working together to investigate missing children, they get more than they bargained for by adding ancestors, a demonic entity, and help from Ghost Rider... all in their fight against Demagoblin.
The story was a little odd, but worked alright. Oddly enough, when compared to other Daredevil comics I've read, this one wasn't very dark.
Recommend, but keep in mind that this is only a self-contained sidestory.

Love Daredevil and loved Echo when she debuted. Didn't love this limited series. It wasn't bad but it seemed very forced. Exploring Matt's religious side has been a million times and we kind of get that here with some odd choices in guest stars and antagonists. I felt like there were maybe one to many ideas and none of them came to fruition. Phil Noto's art was very good throughout. I have no idea why the issue of Elektra was collected here as its completely unrelated. Overall, a decent fast read that isn't the best showcase for these characters.

Hot mess with lots of religious lore dropped in the middle of it..
If that's your thing, then there you go.

Otherwise, it's a messy horror-ish tale with some time travel and some supernatural cameos. Demagoblin? Yea, that's back. A Blaze'in Ghost Rider? Also popping up.

Bonus: Includes Elektra #100 that has yet another Typhoid Mary origin / character update...
Bonus Bonus: Almost as much religious overtones as the 'Guardian Devil' arc.

I loved it! Daredevil and Echo are my two absolutely favorite heroes at the moment so I was ecstatic to see this crossover! I was a little disappointed that they kinda glossed over Maya's Deafness, it's mentioned but has no effect on the story. She is still able to lip read when not even looking at someone? Other than a few complains I enjoyed it and would love to see them team up in the Disney+ universe!

All round weird book. Read this thinking it would provide more context for the Echo tv show, it didn’t. The story is a by-the-numbers demon tale. Too much Christian logic and lore thrown in for my liking.

Didn’t read the last three mini stories—I did not know Typhoid Mary had such a heinous outfit. Outrageous, I thought Elektra’s was bad. So that was enough to cease any interest in the minis.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

"Daredevil and Echo" by Taboo is a mixed bag, earning a solid three stars from me. I would like to say it nailed the chemistry of the characters pretty well. Daredevil and Echo's interactions are engaging and dynamic, capturing their unique relationship and individual personalities effectively. Their banter and shared moments are among the highlights of the story.

However, the plot is a bit out there and carries the same beats as so many other stories with the same concept. The narrative feels somewhat predictable, following a familiar trajectory without offering much in terms of innovation or fresh twists. This sense of déjà vu can detract from the overall enjoyment, as it feels like you've seen this story unfold in similar ways before.

That said, it was a fun read, given I read it in one sitting. The pacing is brisk, and the action scenes are well-executed, keeping the reader engaged from start to finish. While the storyline may not break new ground, the strong character work and fast-paced narrative make it an enjoyable experience.

In conclusion, "Daredevil and Echo" shines in its character dynamics but falters with a cliché plot. If you're a fan of Daredevil and Echo, you'll likely appreciate their well-crafted interactions despite the story's familiarity. It's a decent addition to their canon, providing entertainment even if it doesn't leave a lasting impression.

Not bad, but I think this could have been longer, to give more time to the storyline.
TW for violence, religious themes, death, grief, 1800s-era racism against Native people, murder, child endangerment, mind control, blood.

The story is as uninspired as you know it from the MCU. If you like Phil Noto you will have some fun with it but otherwise the story isn’t noteworthy at all. Same your time and read Zdarskys DD instead and it will leave you more satisfied than this.

fine. Good enough story.

Villain was confusing. In stories, everyone's patrilinearl relatives are key historical figures who have your last name and look like you

It's not clear why kids were involved.

The four part series was pretty lack luster and seemed rushed due to the past and present storylines. I recommend giving it a read if you have the time and a fan of Daredevil and Echo. Ghost Rider does make a special appearance though to try to drive some of the action.
