I listened to its free audiobook posted by the author on Youtube. As this is a small-town romance, I instantly dived into it. It was a story told in two POVs: voices of main characters Lily Matthews and Dr. Brad Burrell. When Brad was re-assigned to a small town called Pine Haven to temporarily replace its clinic physician, he didn't like it at first since he grew up and was used to the big city. However, when he met the clinic's receptionist Lily, things eventually changed as he developed feelings for her.
I thought the book has a very nice romantic concept. I love small-town romances because of their warm and comforting feel. And this book has a lot of things to like, especially when it brings out two characters growing up from two different environments. I also love that aside from the romance, the story gives importance to community involvement as well as family values and friendships.
However, there was insta-love in this book which I didn't quite like. It was also a bit challenging to warm up to Lily's character. She makes small things a big deal and takes things personally even if the people don't actually meant to attack her. Although I understand that she's just really devoted to her hometown.
And although I loved that Brad changed from being an ass to being a nice guy, I still find his character development unrealistic. It was too sudden for him to have a change of attitude and mindset towards everything. But regardless of that, I find it adorable how he still pursued Lily despite her imperfections and how he respected her. All in all, it was still a good audiobook to listen to. I loved how it was narrated. I can definitely say that the author has a great and engaging writing style. The voices of the characters are also amazing, I love listening to them!
This was my favorite book of the series. There was something about Brad and Lily. I think it's the fact that Brad was this big city doctor and didn't want to go to a small town but just did it to help to get a promotion. And Lily was this amazing girl who is just so freaking adorable and sweet but was scared that she woild get hurt. She didn't like Brad and his vibes. But of course that didn't last long because they started liking each other.
I loved seeing Brad's mind change and he started seeing a life with Lily and Lily was willing to move for him. They were willing to make HUGE compromises to be with each other. In the end, it all worked out and they were together.
Overall I give this book a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. I loved this entire series. And I realize that I read this series in the wrong order, I read the first book second, the last book first and this book which is the second book last. Quite the brain teaser there lol. But in anyway you read this series, you will feel the love and romance. The struggles they went through made them stronger and push them together even more. But Sebastian? Do we get a book because I knew he liked Maggie but he's a sweetheart and I want his book. Someone lemme know what that happens please. Anyway, Brad and Lily are my faves, slightly enemies to lovers and that made them so cute with their banter. Love love love them.

Better than the last one at least. The miscommunication in this one was pretty heavy too, it made me pretty frustrated at times. I liked the main characters and also how we revisited the couple from the other book. A small town romance, pretty quick book and the story is also fast paced. I liked the moments when all the friends were together celebrating and the end of the book is good.
Cute little small town romance. Nothing crazy. I enjoyed it, but it took me an ungodly amount of time to finish such a short novella for some reason lol. I skipped the first one in the series and jumped right into this one and I feel like that was totally fine. I am writing this a few days after I finished this book and I do in fact forget the majority of this book but that’s okay I liked it while I was reading it 😂
Lily is a nurse/midwife (?) in Pine Haven and Brad is a city physician who was assigned to Pine Haven. They fell in love and he moves to the small town. I love the small town vibes in this and alsoo it's just a quick read almost a novella
