Ava’s life has been a delicate balance of the mystical and the mundane, but nothing could have prepared her for the whirlwind that is two paranormal infants. Holy naptime, Grandma.
It was enough to expect to help raise a super-powerful baby witch in the form of her new granddaughter Imogene. Now Ava and Drew are the adoptive parents of the world’s cutest baby ogre. Despite his monstrous appearance, Ava's maternal instincts kick in, and she finds herself loving the most unusual baby she could ever imagine.
Ava only thinks her hands are full, but then Olivia is called away on a mission to hunt intruders in Faery. As Ava navigates the challenges of forty-something motherhood, Imogene's untamed powers, and the antics of her beautiful new son, Shipton goes haywire. The entire town is plunged into a riotous spectacle of wacky magical mishaps, and nobody is around to help except the coven.
With her hands full, Ava must navigate the chaos, balancing the demands of her unconventional family while taming the unpredictable energies that threaten to upend Shipton Harbor.
As long as Ava doesn’t forget the diaper bag, she’s got this covered.

This one is so cute. We have the town in chaos and the gang going around fixing it. Also we have Olivia and her family in Faery hunting for intruders. I love the way Selby melted Pearls heart that was such a cute and fun scene. Now for the cliffhanger Luci and Lucy are missing.
This is book eighteen of the Witching After Forty and Ava suddenly has two new additions to her family, becoming a grandmother to baby Imogene and also being the adoptive parents of a baby ogre they have called Selby Mackenzie Walker, with her husband Drew the sheriff of Shipton Harbor. Imogene is the new super witch and unexpected power house of Ava’s family line of magic, being born to her son and his partner Michelle. Olivia gets a surprise visitor from her Uncle Mitah, ruler of the Fae, with news that they have a fae body for Winnie, who has been wasting away, leaving Alfred bereft. They rush next door to Ava’s to let them know and arrange who will go over to Fae with Alfred and Winnie. Whilst there, the king asks them to locate and apprehend some intruders to his kingdom. They are led on a merry chase, as it seems the realm is protecting and hiding these humans from them for some reason and it takes a few attempts and some quick thinking to catch them eventually. It turns out they are a couple of people that Luci himself had been looking for and couldn’t trace on Earth! Whilst Olivia is in Faery, Ava gets called by a few people in town when some strange things occur, the first of a long line of strange events! It takes quite a bit of digging to try and find out what or who was responsible, with a coordinated effort to fix all the affected items and animals. Lots of magical interventions needed all over the place with Ava and Olivia always end up in the midst of it all. With a new generation added to Ava’s family, she and Drew are taking to being grandparents and parents with great joy, even if their new child is an ogre and has to be magically disguised when out and about. Lots of laughs throughout, but also lots of love and helping hands about. Even a visit from Hailey and Jax with their baby dragon Flint, who came to them in a similar manner as Selby did for Ava and Drew. Another fun read in the series with lots of laughs, but also some mischievous magical users apprehended and some on the run criminals finally caught and get a fitting punishment. I can’t wait to see what happens next with all this group and their next adventures. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
I can't express how much I enjoy the paranormal women's fiction written by these two talented authors. I’ve read most, if not all, of this long-running series. In it, we follow two women, their families, and the greater Earthen paranormal community they are a part of. This book starts more slowly than most I’ve read. Usually, the books in this series, which aren’t terribly long, start off with a bang, kicking off a major plot and several subplots within the first two chapters. This book starts slower, but I loved the change of pace. It begins with a very touching ceremony for a secondary character who gets a second chance at life in a new body granted by the fae. But strange things are afoot in the faery realm, and some characters stay behind after the ceremony to help track down and figure out what's happening. Back in the Earth realm, we see some absolutely lovely scenes as a new grandma and adoptive mom take care of her supernatural and magical babies. Even though the grandbaby has nearly frightening powers she cannot yet control because of her young age and the other little guy is a gray-green troll with wild hair, the interactions between grandma/mom and the little ones are so sweet and reminiscent of times you may have spent with your own small children or other little ones in your care. After this lovely interlude, things start to get a little weird in the paranormal Earth community. I won't go into the details, but as with every book in this series (and by these authors), I found this an absolute delight. To truly understand and appreciate the characters and what they've gone through, it really is best to start this series at the beginning, as you may get confused by the large cast of characters, and your lack of knowledge about their relationships and shared history may leave you wondering at times. However, as I stated above, none of these books is long, and the authors have put out some box sets so you can get caught up quickly. If you enjoy paranormal women's fiction as I do, you may very well find that worth the effort. If you already know this series, jump in and enjoy the next adventures of this motley crew!
I received a free digital copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Book 18 continues the saga of Ava, Drew, Olivia, Sam, and their very extended family and friends. The writing is witty and humorous, the characters are loving, protective, and support each other through any adversity or threat. Ava is an incredibly powerful witch/necromancer and her husband is a retired Hunter. Olivia has a very interesting parentage. This is not the place to start the series, much better to start with “A Ghoulish Midlife: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel (Witching After Forty Book 1)”, the first book, and progress from there in order to fully appreciate the various characters’ personalities and powers. Mysterious magic invades Shipton Harbor that Ava and the coven have to identify and suppress. There is a disturbance in Faery that requires Olivia, her children, plus her Mother, and her Father (Phira, a fae, and Luci, the ruler of Hell) to remedy. There is lots of excitement as the humorous problems are solved.
One thing you can say for Ava Walker is that things truly never seem to slow down. The characters are quirky, but you can’t help but care about each one of them. And now we have a ton of new babies coming into the story to bring their own sort of chaos. Ava is a powerful witch/necromancer. Drew’s skills were as a Hunter. Now Ava and Drew are raising a little ogre named Selby. She is also taking care of newborn Imogene, a baby with untamed super-powers! As if that is not enough of a challenge, the town suddenly experiences crazy magical mishaps. What is causing this? Can Ava and the Coven get everything under control? And Olivia is called away to Faerie to help her uncle, the King of Faerie, find some intruders causing issues. With humor and love, join the group as they come to the rescue of those who need them and find out where all this trouble is coming from!
Being a grandparent can be both fun and challenging. Now our heroine is finding out that when dealing with powerful paranormal infants both of those elements are orders of magnitude higher. Someone is going to need a nap. Lots of them, perhaps.
This is book eighteen of the series, but, it works pretty well as a standalone. While you will be missing some of the details, the essentials are covered early on.
This is a cozy witch mystery with lots of different paranormal elements thrown in. I am rather fond of this genre, so I have been enjoying this series. The story is well written and easy to read with a intriguing and diverse cast as well as a fun setting. The story itself moves at a good pace and includes plenty of action, intrigue and humor to keep things interesting. Overall, I enjoyed this latest addition and look forward to more in the series.
Highly recommended.

Witching After Forty Book 18 Ava walker, Drew Walker, their Adopted baby ogre Selby, Imogene, Grandma Holy, Mr. Snoozerton, Lucy-Fur, Michelle, Olivia, Sam, and Sammie, Owen, Alfred, Lucifer, Larry, Zoey, Aunt Winnie, Jaxson, Hailey, Kendra, Luke, Ransom, Lily, Wallie, Ian, John, Winston the sentient house, Phira, Beth, and The entire Howe-Harper-Walker clan. The ending leaves you needing the next one, however this one is a little less drama and danger filled but more mischief filled and mystical. This is definitely a page turner and a head scratcher too.

I love Ava’s books! They are so fun. I love how they interact with the larger world too. In this book, there is someone who is going around town causing trouble, and Ava has to try to fix it before everyone knows that magic is truly real. And it looks like they finally have a body that her Aunt Winny can use from the Fae – while there, Olivia and her family are tasked to find some intruders that have been in Faery too long.
Love, love this book and the babies are just too sweet!

When Ava took in the Ogre baby, she knew it would not all be fun withan adorable baby. But when she has to look after not only her adopted son, but also her very powerful granddaughter just when things become magically chaotic in town..., and Olivia, her parents and older children are in Fairy, hunting some intruders, so they cannot help. There is mayhem awaiting both, but in a funny way - the usual chaos with very lovable characters..

Ava and the gang are back in book eighteen in the Witching After Forty series. A lot is going on and as always all the quirky characters take us on quite a journey and I am loving all of the magical twists and turns along the way. After that ending I can't wait to read the next book to find out how this series ends. I have loved every single book in this series from the magic, mayhem, and humor, to the great storylines and all of the quirky characters. I recommend this book, this series, and these authors to everyone. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This is the eighteenth book in the Witching After Forty series. This series is best enjoyed when the books are read in order. Chaos never ends for Ava and her crew. Ava and Drew are now the proud adoptive parents of an ogre baby, add in Michelle giving birth, they have their hands full. The group is also dealing with someone messing with the town, finding Winnie a new body and Faery has some unwanted visitors that need tracking. There's plenty of laughter, mischief and love. I love this series.

During a movie night, Olivia's Uncle Mitah, the King of Faery, appears and tells her that her friend Winnie has been granted a fae body. After the ceremony, King Mitah asks Olivia to search Faery for a source of disruption to the realm. Olivia and her family Luci, Phira, Devan, and Jess start looking for the culprits in an ever-changing landscape. This story is fun to read, with plenty of action, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.

Oh my gosh! That was just so incredibly sweet. And funny! This book had Ava and the family chasing all over the place to bring down several mischief-makers. And in the middle of all this chaos are two adorable, precocious, infants. I don’t even want to try to guess what shenanigans the authors are setting us up for next, but I’m sure it’s going to be a doozy to witness. And personally, I can’t wait. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
The eighteenth book in the Witching After Forty series, what a cute cover I just want to hug him. the series is getting really good the closer it comes to the final story. Ava and Drew will have a lot to overcome in this story, it held my interest as all the mischievousness happens. I can not wait to read the next book and find out what these Authors have in store for us. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ava has new babies an ogre and a granddaughter! Life in Shipton Harbor has never been more intriguing! Olivia's in Faery, when things go haywire. Can Ava stop it ?
L. A. Boruff and Leah Davis have done it again! Can Olivia mine what she's looking for in Faery? Is Ava up to the task in Shipton Harbor? This book has the answers!.

Is it me or are these stories getting even shorter ? We have two parallel stories running at the same time here. Something is causing havoc in Shipton Harbour and Ava and her coven are trying to figure out what's happening. Meanwhile Olivia and her family are in faery trying to find two intruders who shouldn't be there. The usual shenanigans ensue and we get left with a bit of a cliffhanger. Short, sometimes funny, it's an easy way to kill a couple of hours
Good book. Adorable Selby & powerful Imogene. Winnie transfers into a Fae body & she must live & learn to be a Fae instead of a human witch. The intruders in Faery are surprising. Pixies are causing trouble in Shipton Harbor. Pearl shocks everyone with her caring side. Luci & Lucy goes missing after Wallie 20th birthday party, Ava, Imogene & Selby's belated birthday parties combined. Full of drama even though less than 90 pages.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Good book. Ava named the baby ogre Selby, which everyone adores even Pearl. Pixies are causing havoc in town while Olivia & her family, except Sam & Sammie, are hunting for intruders in Faery. Strange the King ask Olivia to find his intruders instead of someone more experienced. Ava learns her former boss knew she was a witch due to the surveillance cameras in his bookstore. Melody uses her magic openly at the police station.
3.5 stars: If you are on book 19, you like this series otherwise why would you torture yourself. This is a cute series but I'm getting to the point were it does need to start wrapping up. Their adventures are cute but there has been so many people thru the series I forget who they are. Couldn't remember Penny or Belvin at all. Glad this is on Kindle Unlimited, otherwise I would not be spending the money to keep reading this series.
I just love this series. I love how the number of characters/family members are expanding and adding to the storyline while Ava and Olivia are still the main characters for continuity. I can't believe this was book 18. I can't get enough! Thank you for the laughs, suspense, and love shared amongst these characters that just draw you in!!!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked the humor as Ava and her family and friends deal with multiple problems. I like the descriptions of the problems which get solved. However before everyone can settle for a break, something else happens. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next.
I love this series and the other linked series. We have all our favorite characters. Plenty of suspense with laughs and love mixed in for your enjoyment. The dragon Flint was so cute (in my mind) then there was the ogre Selby and the baby witch Imogene. I really can't get enough of these characters.

Book 18 and chaos ensues! Ava and her family have their world cut out for them with not just two newborn babies but two newborn supernatural babies. Plus there’s lots going on not just in Shipton Harbour but also in Faerie so everyone splits up to work on these mysteries. It’s a wonderful, exciting and sleepless addition to this series!
We’re back with Ava and company in Shipton with two adventures going on. Olivia is in fairy on a mission while Ava deals with unusual magic at home. There’s also cuteness overload with two new babies. As always the story is well plotted, with constant action and great characters.

This is another Midlife Series that I love so much! Book 18 entails expanding family, various paranormal goings on and now add 2 powerful babies in the mix and you have hilarity times a hundred! Can Ava handle it all? Read it and see!.

I absolutely love the cover of this book it’s cute and it’s baby Selby an ogre who Ava and Drew have adopted now they are grandparents of Imogene who is becoming very powerful and now there are problems with magical mishaps happening in town so they have their hands well and truly full. Another fantastic addition to this series I loved and the babies so cute and I highly recommend this book.
What do we find Olivia, Sam, and Sammie doing at the start of the story? Oh, the tangled webs of using bodies to save people. What happened in Faery was not what I expected to see. Back at Ava's house, several interesting events occurred one after another. Oh heck, when Drew and Ava take Selby for a walk, something strange happens. That was an unexpected ending. Read to see what happens.
