Cage: A Shifter Fated Mate Motorcycle Club Romance

Rate this book
Dawn Miller ran away from home–and her fated mate–the minute she graduated high school. Her soul was stifled in Springset, Montana, and being mated to Erik Rowles would have bound her there for good. She wanted a life of her own. She wanted to see the world. She wanted to find herself. So she ran.

Erik Rowles, left behind when his mate fled their hometown for college in Colorado, joined Iron Mountain Pride MC and sealed his fate. Or so everyone thought. But in a power grab meant to reform the club and clean up the mountain lion shifters' territory, Erik and his Brothers manage to turn the MC around and make strides toward redemption.

Years have passed. Neither of them is the same naive child they were.

Dawn is coming home. And she isn't alone. Pulled back to Montana and the safety of family, Dawn returns to Springset in the hopes of creating a new life for herself and her young son. But the boy's father, dangerous and controlling, wants his progeny and his plaything back under his thumb. And he is willing to cross into IMP territory to retrieve them.

Can IMP keep the uncontrollable rival crew at bay and give Dawn a chance at a fresh start? And can Dawn and Erik finally overcome the impulse to run, and open their eyes and hearts to the possibility they've had in one another all along?

Fantastic start to a new series!

Cage is a prequel novella and the first book in Mariah Thayer’s all new MC shifter romance series - Iron Mountain Pride MC. This book is told in dual POV and is Dawn and Erik’s story. I will be 100% transparent that I am biased. One, Mariah is one of my favorite humans and I love everything she writes. Two, I did Beta Read for this story so it is near and dear to my heart. That being said, I read it twice while beta reading, BUT I bought my own copy and read it after edits and being published. Three times I’ve read this story, and paid my own money. So while I may be biased I can honestly tell you I LOVED this book! The 90’s nostalgia is too good! Fated mates?… Check! Second chance romance?… Check! MC Club that rides that morally grey line? Check! Not only all these yummy tropes, but the characters are well written and easy to love. These characters aren’t perfect, they have flaws and mess up, but they learn and change and forgive. Dawn is a survivor, and she deserves all the good things. Erik is panty melting hot, and watching him pursue Dawn?.. *Chef’s Kiss* The chemistry is holy cannoli hot. Fated Mates are a whole different breed. The possessive nature just adds to the hotness level. There are twists and turns and moments that broke my heart. This one will pull you in and leave you needing more. We get a lot of background on the MC and a lot of groundwork is laid for future books. I absolutely love Dawn and Erik and I can’t wait to see where everything goes. I can already tell this is going to be a fantastic series. If you love shifter romance and MC romance you won’t want to miss out on Cage.. go grab it and buckle up, you’re in for a great time!

This is a great book. I love the author’s take on fated mates. The author gives a realistic touch to this beloved trope. The author shows the work of a real relationship. The world building is a wonder to behold. I loved the characters. They are so bold and vivid and won my heart over. The overall plot was intense and twisty. It kept me on my seat. I absolutely loved this book and I love this author. Mariah Thayer has a true gift for creating compelling stories that capture readers.

Book itself was good despite the kink being undernegotiated for the level of trauma these characters have been through. I plan on continuing the series.
