3.5 ⭐ Mafia romance - Book 2 and final book in the duology. Tangled Deceit picks up where book 1 ended (I'm going to try and be VERY VAGUE here for the sake of remaining spoiler free)
Olivia has been taken and held captive by her kidnapper. She is beaten, starved and humiliated day in and day out.
Luca only realizes she is missing once he finally makes it back up to the apartment, their apartment.
He spends days searching for her, exhausting not only himself but his resources - he will stop at nothing and NO ONE until he has her back, safe.
Olivia manages to escape and almost gives up whilst running. She finds a stranger willing to help and for the first time in days, it feels like she can breath again.
War ensues between Titan and Luca - Titan is HELL BENT on destroying anything and everything Luca cares about, he aims to destroy HIM.
This is such a fast paced quick read, and however on edge you feel due to the actual war and lives of the characters you care about - I kind of FELT a tad underwhelmed?
I had these plot twists going through my head or ppl that would end up betraying Luca and Olivia and... Nothing.....
Don't get me wrong, It was still a great read! I have wanted to read it since I read the first book last year and I am so happy I did. I honestly love Luca and Olivia. And I love the side characters just as much.
Also, what was that at the end with Tori on her phone? 👀 Iykyk

The romance is scalding hot. The action is nail-biting inducing. The character interactions are superbly executed. If you desire a novel where passions collide both for love and vengeance, pick this beautiful book up! Heather Renee knows how to weave an unputdownable tale that will have you fanning yourself as it leaves you with the tinglies.

Book 1 I liked a little more than this finale of the Wicked Duet.
The things happening in #TangledDeceit were gripping for sure and I really liked seeing the softer, more invested side of the relationship between Olivia and Luca. The revelations happening in this one were also good, thrilling and entertaining. All in all, however, I felt like in book 1 there was more at stake. It felt more dangerous, unknown and darker. Compared to this Tangled Deceit was simply a little less intimitating.
Additionally, there were a few scenes where I would've like more. E.g. one time Luca thought back to his father and his childhood and about how certain situations in his upbringing formed him and made him the way he is. However, this was merely mentioned and not explained further when in fact there would've been potential to make Luca's character much deeper than he had been up until this point. I found this potential wasn't used fully, which disappointed me a little bit and it ultimately the reason I deducted one star compared to book 1.
All in all I really liked this mafia romance duet though and would definitely like to read more darker books from this duo. 😊

Not my favorite genre but this was fantastic!
I love this series so much. Luca is so.hot. He cleans up the streets searching for Olivia after Titan kidnaps her. However, no one can tell him where Titan has her. Olivia gets a break when one of Titans men helps her escape. She is able to get back to Luca but she's in bad shape. Her Dad beat her. Then he ordered others to beat her. She barely got food & water. I can't imagine a father doing that to his child. Especially, when he was there for her first 9 years of life. He's a monster. It takes a few plans to get to Titan. Oh & Titan kidnapes Tori & brainwashed her into thinking he's good & Luca is bad. Tori had her work cut out convincing her otherwise.

Really enjoyed this series. More action and violence in these but overall it kept me wanting more and really loving Olivia and Luca.

This is the second book to this duology and I enjoyed it! More action in this one than the first, kinda gave me military vibes in the way they executed their plans.
There are themes of torture and violence that are a bit more graphic than in the first so keep that in mind.
I do think this duology is a good read for those starting out into dark romance it kinda gave me Sophie larks brutal birthright series vibes only difference really is in Sophie larks books there’s a bit more push and pull between main characters, would have loved to see that in this series but wasn’t a deal breaker.
I really did enjoy this series and hope the author continues with books for the other characters

The whole book is great but the beginning reads more dark and is so well done! It transitions to a grayer read when Olivia finally escapes. The book is fast paced and full of action. I love a duet and getting a happily ever after for the main characters.

Well I love this. This was a great final read in this series and I’m very excited to see the stand alones that will come from it. Olivia and Luca’s story is fast and sexy, just like them. Heather Renee is one of my 1 clicks! Always must reads. I’m looking forward to what comes next.

I couldn't wait to inhale Tangled Deceit, the duology in Heather's Wicked World. From the start it was an action packed read as Luca moved heaven and earth to find his Raven. The character developments were amazing. Olivia faced some tough choices and fought her way out strong, every single time, whilst coming to terms with, and trying to understand why Titan, Luca's enemy, was determined to bring both hers and Luca's world crashing down, and left them both questioning who they could trust. The action and suspense was tremendous. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn't put this book down.
The evolving relationship between Luca and Olivia was burning hot. The tension rolled off the pages and left me breathless. Vengeance was important to them both, and as secrets and truths were uncovered, their character growth was superb. Their romance was steamy and heated. Did I mention the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🔥🥵
I squealed with excitement at the end by the author's note, intimating there might be standalone books for Markus and Damon! I would love to read more about these characters and I look forward to stalking the author, I mean them being published, as they'll definitely be on my next to read list.

This is book 2 in The wicked Duet. These books are meant to be read in order and it is my recommendation that you do so. There is one continuous timeline and skipping to book 2 will leave you confused. Plus.....There is so much goodness in book one that you will not want to miss a single page.
Tangled Deceit begins right where we found ourselves after the las page in Ruthless Truths (book 1). Olivia is finding out secrets that she didn't want to know and is being held by Titan...Luca's enemy. Luca is tearing the city apart trying to find her. They are so much better together than they are apart. Luca is trying to understand why Titan is doing the things he is and why he is trying to destroy both Olivia and Luca. they will need to work together alongside all of Luca's trusted people in order to figure out what is going on. Can they find the answers before someone loses their life or will they go down in flames?
Oh man I love this duet. Such fabulous characters and a wonderful storyline. I wasn't sure if I was going to come around to liking Luca but rest assured, I have fallen head over heels for him. His love for Olivia outshines everything in his life we all all strive to have that kind of Love. The twists and turns had me biting my nails as I was reading but we do get our HEA. The author has hinted at further stories in this series and I am here for them all. The books are written very well with a fast paced story and a romance that I loved. I give this one 5 stars!

What a great end to Olivia and Luca's story!
Can you image finding out your father is a mafia boss and left you and your mom all those years ago to become the mafia boss? Now he throws you in a cell and let's others beat you so you will join him ? No thanks.
After everything Olivia has been through, she realizes how strong she is as a person. Luca sees her strength and wonders if she can handle his life. Olivia is wondering the samething- can she accept this life?
Their story is beautiful, but filled with violence. No- no gory details. A little steamy, but nothing graphic.
I am glad Justine and Tory get to meet. It would be great if the three of them have an adventure together as BFFs. Could you imagine the trouble they would get into on a weekend getaway! Lol

She is shocked and hurt. Titan is Luca’s arch enemy and will do anything to bring him down. Luca and Olivia lives are entwined with each other from secrets and past hurts. The battle of kidnapping Olivia from Luca reveals moles within Luca’s organization who have betrayed him. Luca is only concerned with Olivia back. Olivia does not trust nor does she believe what Titan is telling her. Titan decides to kill her. However one of Titan’s men have a relationship with Luca and helps her escape from Titan. This story is so good. Once Olivia is back with Luca it becomes both of their goals to kill Titan. This story has lots of twist and turns. The supporting characters Justine and Jaxon are really strong. The story has a ton of spicy moments. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The best thing for me is the growth of Olivia. Her character becomes stronger and takes a lots of risk in this book. She is the badaxx in this story.

This story picks up where book 1 finished and was full of action right from the start. It’s fast paced, there’s twists & turns and a few shocks as well.
I loved the relationship between Luca and Olivia. They have both grown so much personally and as a couple throughout the 2 books.
This was a great read and I highly recommend it. You’ll love it if you enjoy strong FMC’s, morally grey, smexy MMC’s, found family, spicy scenes and great friendships.
I’m now a convert to the ‘mafia romance’ trope ♥️

Man of man.....book two picks up without missing a beat, and the action just doesn't stop. Olivia is not some whilting little flower anymore, and she is definitely not going to wait for anyone to come and rescue her. She is definitely coming into her own. Luca has decided who he wants, and the world better watch out because he will not stop until he has his Raven back where she belongs.

With how Ruthless Truths ended with that cliffhanger I knew I needed to know what happens with Olivia and Luca.
This book had so much more action than book one but was everything that was needed for the story. Olivia learns the true betrayal of Titan and how it impacts her and Luca’s lives. To see Luca realize he loves Olivia in this book was perfect. He kept his promise to always search for her and be there to protect her. It may not have happened how they both planned but he keeps his word.

WOW WOW I am hooked on Luca and Liv I devoured this book in a night! I am loving the mafia lord and his empire. When he says the world will burn he means every word and damn this mans Alphaholeness( lol made up a new word) is freaking sexy as hell. I seriously love a strong, kick ass female and Olivia checks all the boxes and her growth as a person and a character is beautiful to read. Thank you Harper this was perfection in writing!! Would love more stories of this Mafioso family!

I've followed Heather as an author for awhile, and whilst this is completely different to her usual genre, it still lives up to her ever amazingness.
The way it's written, you fall in love with Oliva and Luca, you feel their emotions along with them. And honestly, the book gives you everything you want.
It's everything I wanted and more from a mafia romance and will be something I read again!

Wow, what an explosive ending. From page one I couldn’t put this book down. So much action, emotions, and nail-biting adventures you will read with the conclusion of The Wicked duet “Tangled Deceit”. I love the growth and character development both Olivia and Luca. It’s so well written. I’m excited to see more in the mafia world that has been created by Heather/Harper. Maybe, crossing fingers, we’ll learn more about what is going on with Tori.

I'm so so glad Heather Renee/Harper Reed decided to write something a little darker than her norm. This was a perfectly dark and delicious conclusion to Olivia and Luca's stories. Plus, I've completely fallen in love with Justine and Jaxon. I wish we would have gotten to know Damon or Markus a little better in this one, because I'm intrigued. Maybe they'll get their own books? Hint hint, Miss Renee...

What a tangled web we weave. This book is everything a good suspenseful mafia romance should be, filled with intrigue, betrayal, lust, humor friendship and drama the story will take you on a wild ride and leave you wanting so much more from all the characters. I cant wait to see if the future will hold more stories from this mafia family. Highly recommend

A great ending
Oliva goes through so much in this book but it is great to see her realize she is stronger then she thinks. Her relationship with Luca grows also and he opens up more. I really just loved the conclusion to this book and all the feels it gave me. Now I want stories for the rest of their friends and family.

Book 2 gave us plenty of action, the story kept taking one jaw gasping turn after another. The spice was right where it should have been 🔥 and the emotional development of so many soared!! The ending gives us enough but still I am left hoping the author will write more in the universe! There are so many more characters I would love to see get the main spotlight!!

a perfect ending
First of all I LOVE LUCA ! I love the way he dominates. He’s the MAN! This book was definitely a perfect closure to book 1. Straight wanted to knock Tori upside the head a few times but interested in her story because I know she has to be talking to some one in the compound .

Tangled Deceit was a page turner I devoured until the very end!! Action packed and marvelous conclusion to The Wicked series!! This book is everything you could want and more in an enthralling series! Hope we get more of these riveting characters in the future!

Dark and twisty!
This was a fantastic conclusion to the duet! I was hooked from the first page bc of how things were left at the end of the last book. The entire thing has so many twists and turns and sexy times that the pacing is awesome. Definitely a recommended read in my opinion!

I love it!
I love the conclusion to Olivia and Luca's stories. A lot of things happened in this book and we learned a lot of things, it was full of action but with romance too, it was really good!

I love a strong female lead and Liv absolutely lives up to that. She definitely comes into her own strength in this book. I can’t believe it’s already over… I have hopes for many more books in this world
