K.O. Newman is a neurospicy author of steamy, panty-melting paranormal romance. A lifelong reader who overcame dyslexia to bring sass and sizzle to your shelves. Her queer-inclusive books include motorcycle clubs of monsters, aliens, and bearded bad-boys.
Outside her life as an author, Kat is a mom of two brilliant children, and two precious cats. She lives in the Midwestern U.S., but Kat's heart truly lies in a little town in Vermont, home of her Lords of Khaos series.
Decent premise, but it felt unfinished. A few of the scenes just ended and then we “time jumped”. Could benefit from some editing as well, but I liked the characters and might consider reading others in this universe.
Kat is one of my go to authors when I want to read something amazing in the paranormal romance genre. Her shifter books are always addicting, and when she added the MC elements to it?! Mmmm, so freaking good, I mean shifters in cuts, riding motorcycles?.. SIGN ME UP! I should have known she wouldn’t rest on her laurels, and with Possessing Scarlet, Kat has added to her fantastic PNR repertoire. I haven’t read Omegaverse much yet, but this book has me hooked on the genre. Secrets, lies, corruption, greed, fear mongering.. this story is so politically charged and really parallels what is going on in society today, which is scary considering Possessing Scarlet is set in a post apocalyptic world. This world is like Hunger Games mixed with Twilight (but just the wolves side) Scarlet will tug your heartstrings for sure. She’s treated like an object, not protected, and kept in the dark about a huge part of who she is. I am so in love with the Bad Wolf MC. Cade, Sinjin and Tanner are holy cannoli hot. Each guy is so unique but make this incredible relationship and Scarlet makes them complete. I love the chemistry between the guys. The hierarchy of the A/B/O world is so different than what I’m used to, but Kat does a great job of melding it seamlessly with the hierarchy of a motorcycle club. There’s high heat, nail biting suspense, and all the feels. This is a phenomenal first book - the world building is incredible, we get so many character introductions and plot breadcrumbs that I can’t wait to see explored in future books in the series. While this does have more of a happy for now ending, I know we will get to see more of this pack as the series plot develops in the upcoming books. I highly recommend this series if you love paranormal romance. So good!
